My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Stone, a commitment‑avoiding supernatural dealing with a dangerous possession, discovers that his latest partner, Lysander, is actually his fated mate. Lysander, a fairy who needs closeness to thrive, finally understands why he can’t stay away from Stone — but their timing couldn’t be worse, as Stone battles the dark entity inside him and both struggle with a bond neither expected.
This story delivered a powerful mix of mate‑bond intensity and supernatural chaos. Stone and Lysander’s connection was strong from the start, but the dark entity squatting inside Stone turns their bond into a fight for survival — especially as Lysander comes dangerously close to starving. The stakes felt real, and it took the combined strength of several supernatural beings to finally free Stone, which made the victory feel earned. I loved the sense of community throughout the book. There was so much love and loyalty between the different supernatural groups, and Stone’s devotion to those he protected was recognised and rewarded despite everything he endured. The emotional beats landed beautifully, and the whole story was easy to read and follow. This was an MM story with mature content.
