Review: Masked by Ivy Nelson 4 of 5 stars

Masked (Club Exposure, #5)

Masked by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reva Calhoun had been dating Noah Jasper's son Parker when she met him 5 years ago when his longtime girlfriend was murdered. When Parker dumps her and leaves her stranded sue turns to Noah for help. However, Noah might not realise it but he needs her help as much as she needs his. Will their unconventional relationship bring the healing they both need?

I really enjoyed this story with the useless Parker (why was she with him?) and his father Noah (who had so many complicated layers). Reva was a sassy woman who fit right into Noah's life and seemed to fit in well with his kinks. Easy to read, feel and understand you will be addicted to the drama of this story. Contains mature content with a BDSM-like relationship involving humiliation, spanking and some bondage.

On The Rocks (Club Solitaire, #1)

On The Rocks by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Amalia Sanchez was looking for a way out of a situation when she took a job making over The Outpost but when she got there she also got a blast from the past and a second chance at love even though she is trying not to add the mess of her own life to that of the man she had a one night stand with four years ago, Mitch Hartley. That one night changed her life and introduced her to kink and power exchange and now Mitch has taken her to Club Solitaire to show her what they have hoping to tempt her to give him a chance. Does she walk away from it again, or does she trust Mitch to save her?

I enjoyed this story and it was great to be back with the folks at Club Solitaire and the characters that I know from reading other books. It was easy to read, feel and understand as we got more involved with the couple and their complicated lives. Contains mature content of a BDSM nature with D/s relationships.

Review: Shadow by Ivy Nelson 5 of 5 stars

Shadow (Club Exposure, #4)

Shadow by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cannon Ripley was always in the shadows as a spy with hurried trips home Olivia was the one shedding light on him as they connected in bed with primal energy and passion. But she could not take the pressure of never knowing when he was home or for how long and so told him to stop calling her unless he was home for good. When he is unexpected forced out of his career he finds himself back home without her as she moved on as is not interested in giving him another chance. When someone tries to harm her he refuses to take no for an answer and is determined to protect her while reminding her how good they are together. But will she believe he is back for good?

I loved this story and it was great to be back in Club Exposure with all of the gang while Ripley and Olivia worked through their differences, their belief in each other as well as igniting their relationship again. I loved her feistiness and the way that she was submissive but only when she wanted to be. Certainly, their relationship was fiery, dirty and sometimes verged on violent. I found it hard to cope with some of the things they said to each other. Contains a lot of mature content in graphic detail much of it around BDSM and some danger and drama around the plot to attack Olivia. Easy to read and understand.

Review: Find The Way: A Christmas at Club Solitaire Romance by Ivy Nelson 4 of 5 stars

Find The Way: A Christmas at Club Solitaire Romance

Find The Way: A Christmas at Club Solitaire Romance by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Patrick Yates is still reeling after the final events at the end of the Diamond Doms series and needs to find closure but has no idea how to get it. So he pushes his wife away and throws himself into work. But Austin is stubborn and will not let that happen. Using the Christmas spirit and all their friends at Club Solitaire she is determined to find him the closure he needs while also making this Christmas a year he won't soon forget.

I loved this story which gives some clues as to what happened after the series ended as well as just how close the friends are at Club Solitaire. I loved how Austin was able to see past all the roadblocks that Patrick had used as well as her confidence to get help and put him back on the right track. This was easy to read and understand. Contains mature content of a BDSM nature.

Review: New Tradition by Ivy Nelson 4 of 5 stars

New Tradition (Christmas at Club Solitaire #3)

New Tradition by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After a strenuous campaign for newly elected Senator Ware, Erin Green is ready for a break with the retired soldier and now investor Samual Carter. Unfortunately, they have very different ideas on who they should be celebrating Christmas. They have an argument about it but do agree on a trip to the Christmas Party at Club Solitaire. As the weather prevents them for m leaving they will have to create some new traditions this year.

I enjoyed this story with the clash of the strong-willed Erin with her strong-willed dom in the form of Samuel. It was great to see that a new tradition was absolutely fine and that both of them could agree if they were in the right situation to make them do that. I loved being back with the friends at Club SOlitaire and that things were pretty much the same as before. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content of a BDSM nature.

Review: Past and Present by Ivy Nelson 4 of 5 stars

Past and Present (Christmas at Club Solitaire #2)

Past and Present by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lance and Melissa were engaged five years ago, but it all fell apart. Now they are back together and are looking forward to Christmas where they will spend it at Club Solitaire at a party before going to Pheonix for a small wedding with her family. Mother nature did not get the memo and has other plans which causes Marissa to wonder if they were ever meant to be married at all and Lance is determined to remind her that that was the past and not now. With his friends' help at Club Solitaire will Lance be able to pull off a Christmas miracle?

I really enjoyed this festive story which focused on Lance and Melissa and their upcoming nuptials. I was pleasantly surprised that the club was able to help them and that fun was possible at the same time. I thought it was well written and that it was easy to pick up the thoughts and emotions of everyone. I like that there is one story that flows through these Christmas stories and I look forward to finding out the conclusion to it. Contains mature content of a BDSM nature.

Review: Coming Home by Ivy Nelson 4 of 5 stars

Coming Home (Christmas at Club Solitaire #1)

Coming Home by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

David Eastman was declared cancer free and so he went head first back to being the CEO of his company but that left his wife Emily behind struggling to find her place after first caring for her terminally ill brother and then her husband with cancer. At a loss, she throws herself into doing a graduate degree. What that means is that they are both overworked and most definitely lacking romance and are needing an intervention. They are reminded to cling to the home they have at Solitaire and a natural disaster might mean that they stay longer than they originally intended.

I really enjoyed this book with a return to Club Solitaire and the very human cost of working too hard and neglecting your relationships. I enjoyed the way that friends stick together and that it took one to remind them that they really need to step back and make an investment in each other. As usual, this book contains BDSM themes and mature content. I'm intrigued by the other storyline which started in this book and I'm sure will continue across the other two in this mini group of books around Christmas at Club Solitaire.

Review: Forever by Ivy Nelson 4 of 5 stars

Forever (Diamond Doms #9)

Forever by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Security specialist, Dom and a member of Club Solitaire Russell Adler has just one major job while a fellow member and Dom Elijah Barrett is away on business - keep his wife Holly and her friend Gemma Livingston (Matthew's wife) safe from those who want to destroy the club. The problem for him is that Gemma is a gorgeous, irresistible pain who is determined to make his job impossible as she makes his Dom side twitch and he just cannot lose focus right now.

I enjoyed this conclusion to the series which definitely contained some surprises and "Oh" moments as more was revealed about the who and why of the club vendetta. I didn't see that everything would end that way but it was great with lots of danger and drama. I loved the part played by all the women forcing everything to come to a conclusion and the key role that Kendall played using her special skillset. I did struggle a bit with understanding some of the dynamics between Gemma and Russell probably because I have problems relating to the sadist and masochist side of things. Gemma also continued to be a bit irritating but at least Master Russell was able to control her quite a bit. I loved the dramatic finish and am very sad to reach the end of the series. Contains mature content and scenes of a BDSM nature.

Review: Flawless by Ivy Nelson 4 of 5 stars

Flawless (Diamond Doms, #8)

Flawless by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Matthew Bruce has a lot of secrets from his friends at Club Solitaire - he is secretly married to someone in UK nobility and yet he is in love with his wife's little sister. Plus there is the big secret - he is not dead like everyone thinks. Then he recently discovered that his grandfather was part of the international underground organisation that his friends have been tracking down. Then Kendall Livingston his wife's little sister tracks him down and so he now has to keep them both safe and Kendall out of his bed.

I enjoyed this story with the marriage of convenience and the problems around that which seriously messed up both of their lives. I loved sassy Kendall who was much more than she appeared and incredibly valuable in investigating the real problems that were facing the club and more importantly why. I did find Gemma a bit strange and her ability to say highly inappropriate things was actually quite nasty and so did detract from the story. It was easy to read but a little frustrating at times. Contains mature content with BDSM scenarios.

Review: Rough by Ivy Nelson 4 of 5 stars

Rough (Diamond Doms #7)

Rough by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

To the wider world, Jax Fischer is a heroic military veteran who deserves medals and commendations that he doesn't like being talked about. To cattle heiress Dakota Hylander he is a coward who abandoned his responsibilities over a decade ago. Now he is older, hotter and unrecognisable to Dakota when he is at Club Solitaire at the grand opening, and so she ended up in his bed without knowing his name. When she discovers his identity they have an explosive fight and they agree to avoid each other and never speak of their night together again. Then after three more years, he has to work as a private investigator digging into her life and they can no longer avoid each other or the past. With amazing chemistry there is much more to his story that meets the eye, she just needs to decide if she wants to hear it.

I loved this seventh book in the series. It was great to hear more background about them both and realise that there was a lot of misinformation behind their history but it would take them both being open, prepared to listen and working together to get to the bottom of what happened in the past let alone what is happening in the present. I really enjoyed some of the intrigue and drama behind some of the events and it was great to see that progress was made no matter how small it might have seemed. I loved the power dynamic between Jax and Dakota both in and out of play. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content of a BDSM nature.

Review: Mine by Ivy Nelson 4 of 5 stars

Mine (Diamond Doms #6)

Mine by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Billionaire businessman Hunter Novak has a mission to tear everything away from the people who abandoned him as a child and make it his own. He has so much in Las Vegas and around the world, but there is one more thing he wants and he is backing popstar Skylar Cameron in order to get that. He is almost there and then he meets passionate and incredibly sexy Trinity Shaw and it is almost impossible to resist her. But if he lets her into his bed, then she will be in his heart and that will ruin everything.

This was yet another dramatic story as another of the doms from Solitaire met a woman who he just could not keep out of his head and heart. I liked the jeopardy of the Skylar situation and the way that there were a lot of layers of deceit at play that was not expected from people that were also not expected to be sources of those layers. Easy to read and understand. Contains lots of mature content of a BDSM nature.

Review: Ice by Ivy Nelson 4 of 5 stars

Ice (Diamond Doms #5)

Ice by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Samuel Carter has prioritised one mission above everything else - taking down the terrorist organisation that destroyed his family. Now in order to pursue that he has walked away from Solitaire the home that allowed him to satisfy his carnal needs while meeting his friends who are also his family. Erin Green helped get Annette Ware elected to the Senate and as a reward is now her chief of staff. The first thing is to launch an investigation into an elite military unit operating in secret. That task leads her to Samuel, the hot as sin former marine with a penchant for Brioni suits - can she do her job and explore this new attraction? Dangerous threats and the underbelly of Washington politics threaten to take the choice away and destroy them both. They must work together to survive.

I really enjoyed this story which had the intense attraction between Samuel and Erin, the old enemies of Solitaire trying to bring Samuel down, the attacks on Erin and their sexual discovery of each other. The way that the Solitaire family all supported the couple was a delight to see as they did what they could to help them with the attacks, the political situation and Erin's BDSM questions. I enjoyed his ineptitude at communication and having a relationship which was a little at odds with his skills as a marine. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content some of which is of a BDSM nature.

Review: Pressure by Ivy Nelson 4 of 5 stars

Pressure (Diamond Doms #4)

Pressure by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lance Moss is a cyber-security system billionaire and someone is targeting him and anything he has worked on. He is currently running out of time to plug the holes in the Club Solitaire systems before they are forced to close and someone will be hurt. Reluctantly fellow board member and friend Eli brings in an outsider to her - what he didn't expect is for it to be his ex-fiance to walk through the door even though she is still the hottest woman he has ever seen. Marissa Sullivan accepted a job of a lifetime and so had said yes without a second thought, but when she walks in and sees Lance sitting there she turns around and walks out again. He already ruined her life and she will not work with him. Eli begs her to stay and sweetens the deal and so she vows to put aside her hatred and do the job. Lance hasn't changed nor has her intense attraction to him which is intensified when to keep her cover she joins the elite BDSM club. As they race to save the club that has become a second home to so many, they must decide if setting aside their differences to pursue their attraction is worth it or if they’ll go their separate ways when the job is done.

I really enjoyed the story with the merge of the push and pull in the dynamic between Melissa and Lance with the chop and change as they worked out and tried to chase down the source and the reason for the constant cyber attacks against Lance and his company. It was also fascinating to learn a little about the world of cyber security and hackers. I enjoyed their passion for their job as well as each other and it was good to see that through the aid of a shrink they were able, to be honest with themselves as well as each other about their thoughts and feelings. Easy to read, feel and understand. Contains mature content and scenes of a BDSM nature.

Bling (Diamond Doms #3)

Bling by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Garrett Oliver has two priorities in life - having a large bank account and a beautiful woman on his arm. Isabelle Alvarado wants to get through the week so she can spend time with the Dom she has been seeing, but losing her job has put a damper on things. Then she finds out that the Dom she was seeing is actually the owner of the company makes her see red. Now Garrett has to work out why his company is bleeding cash and save his relationship with Isabelle and fast.

I enjoyed this story with the relationship in jeopardy, the company also in jeopardy and how by working together for some of the things he was able to get to the bottom of the sabotage and sort everything and everyone out. I loved that they were able to sort out everything between them and that they were able to start to look forward to a future together. Contains mature content and themes of BDSM.

Review: Heist by Ivy Nelson 4 of 5 stars

Heist (Diamond Doms, #2)

Heist by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dom Patrick Sutton wants to forget that his father exists but unfortunately, the trial means that it is not going to happen. Thankfully his Club Solitaire family includes high-profile defence lawyer Austin Yates who has done some contract law cases for his company in the past. A club event pushes them together for a weekend of fun but a diamond heist will either bring them closer together or tear them apart forever. Patrick faces prison time if the diamonds are not found and the real thief is caught. Austin is risking her career to save him. Can she save herself from ghosts of the past?

I really enjoyed this story which had the mystery of the heist itself, the framing of Patrick, Austin's past, the relationship between Austin and Patrick plus Austin's varied work issues all woven together into an addictive story. The conclusion to the story was partially predictable and partially devastating. I was thrilled when heads became clearer and the HEA that they both deserved was reached. Easy to read and understand. Very addictive - I could not put it down until I knew how it ended. Contains sexual content which is often in a BDSM-like setting.

Review: Blood by Ivy Nelson 3 of 5 stars

Blood (Diamond Doms #1)

Blood by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Holly Sutton thinks that her father can do no wrong (which is not the truth) and her new boss Elijah Barratt seems hell-bent on taking her dad down which causes her to stop and look closer at her own childhood and think about why her big brother left home years ago and didn't look back.

I enjoyed this story which had the mystery of the father, Elijah and his businesses (especially the BDSM club) and the relationship between Holly and Elijah. I loved some of the dramatic moments and how quickly things got so nasty. It was also a great study in trust, who you trust, what constitutes a break of trust, and the benefit of the doubt. I did enjoy their relationship and some of the bumps in it were quite heartbreaking. It was easy to read and feel the thoughts and emotions of the characters. It does contain mature content and that of a BDSM nature.

Review: Secret by Ivy Nelson 3 of 5 stars

Secret (Club Exposure, #3)

Secret by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Adara Kent had big dreams in politics but a deadly secret has kept her from the job she wanted and would love and so had worked as an assistant to a senator. Then her friends and Club Exposure convince her she can do more only to have her past come back to haunt her. Police Detective Michael Silas is on course to be the next chief of police and is also falling in love with Adara, but something isn't right and she is hiding something. What he does not expect is to find a secret so dangerous they might both be killed. Will it kill them or tear them apart forever?

This was a dramatic story about her secret and the conclusion to that. I liked the conversations about trust and how that works between people but some of Adara's behaviour was a little erratic and I thought she was being awkward for awkward's sake not for any logical reason. I did find it a little more fantastical and hard to believe. Easy to read but not as easy as I would like it to be to understand it. Contains some BDSM themed content and so only for mature readers.

Review: Protected by Ivy Nelson 4 of 5 stars

Protected (Club Exposure, #2)

Protected by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Darci Sanders's entire career has been about fighting injustice and that fight includes keeping the wrong man out of the White House, but to relax she likes to go to Club Exposure. While at the club she meets ex-soldier Bradley Givens who turns her world upside down but then just disappears. Bradley is working as the campaign manager and is so focused on getting his candidate to win the election that he doesn't return to the club thinking it is a distraction. When they meet again they realise that they are rivals on either side of an election, the question is can they trust each other. Especially when danger from Darci's past rears its ugly head when she might have no choice but to trust him as he will go to any length to protect her.

I really enjoyed this story which had all of the emotions between two people who were passionate about their job, their cause or each other. It was also great to observe all of the compromises that were necessary and not as hard as they might have thought at first. I loved his protectiveness and the way that there was no length that he would go to in order to keep her safe. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content and BDSM themes and so this is definitely a book for adults.

Five years ago, my life changed forever.
I spent two nights with a stunning woman I’ll never forget, but I pushed her away because a relationship was impossible.
Then I came to Vegas with the second-born sons of three rival crime families with the goal of making it a neutral ground for our families.
So far, it’s worked.
We’ve prevented an all-out mafia war.
The problem?
Skylar is back and I still want her.
She’s a distraction I don’t need, but she’s about to learn that being mine isn’t easy.
I’ll test her, push her, and show her how high the bar is for pleasing me.
But if she says yes, I’m never letting her go again.
Even if that means war.

Review: Hidden by Ivy Nelson 5 of 5 stars

Hidden (Club Exposure, #1)

Hidden by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Secret Service Agent Peter Mercer was just concerned about getting a promotion but instead, he got an encounter with investigative journalist Carrie Davenport. He has a historic hatred of investigative journalists, but she is cruising to get herself killed and so he'll do what it takes to keep her safe and his conscience clear. Carrie Davenport doesn't look for trouble but it finds her, this time in the form of a human trafficking ring involving D.C.'s most powerful. If she can expose it all it will be the biggest story she has ever written and Peter seems hellbent on preventing her from doing either. When he turns up at Club Exposure she is convinced he is following her, but it turns out they have far more in common than either of them imagined.

I really enjoyed this story. I loved the battle of wills between the strong protective Peter and the sassy and determined Carrie. The story she was investigating quickly became something that involved Peter and his friends in order to tie them together even closer. Peter was definitely a natural Dom and although she had sass in bucketloads she was also a natural submissive. I loved their relationship and the fact that yes they had some issues but over time they were able to work them through as well as strengthen their relationship as a result. An easy to read mystery story wrapped into a story centred around the relationship between Peter and Carrie and their exploration of each other's skills and limits. Contains scenes of a BDSM nature and sexual content that are for mature readers only.
