My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Dylan Martin has spent years working at a coastal hotel, following every rule to protect his job — including reporting anything that might harm the hotel’s reputation. But when he discovers a gay porn shoot happening on the property and recognises one of the performers as Mark Roman, the man he’s fantasised about for ages, doing the right thing suddenly feels a lot more complicated. Reporting it could cost Mark his work; staying silent could cost Dylan his job. When the decision is taken out of his hands, everything spirals. Mark’s shoot falls apart, but he soon finds a distraction in a cute, nervous guy at a local bar — a guy who looks strangely familiar. When he realises Dylan is the one who tipped off management, he teases that Dylan owes him a scene. Dylan refuses, but the longing in his eyes tells a different story. Mark is used to desire, but something about Dylan makes him want more: to guide him, to show him pleasure, to be the man Dylan finally lets himself want. Mark assumes it will be nothing more than a fling — his career has ruined relationships before — but Dylan surprises him. Beneath the nerves and curiosity is a heart ready to love, and Mark may be the one who needs to learn how to accept it.
I loved this story of desire, vulnerability, and the unexpected tenderness that grows when two men finally confront what — and who — they really want. This book delivers a surprisingly tender romance beneath its steamy premise. Dylan’s nervous curiosity and Mark’s confident charm make for an irresistible dynamic, but what really stands out is the way their connection grows beyond desire. Both men came into the story expecting nothing more than a fling — Dylan unsure of his own wants, Mark convinced his career makes real love impossible — yet their chemistry kept pulling them closer. Watching them move from fantasy to genuine affection is incredibly satisfying. The emotional beats land beautifully, showing how two men who never expected more than a night together might actually be perfect for each other. It’s a story about taking risks, trusting your heart, and discovering that sometimes the chance for love appears in the most unexpected places. This was an MM story with mature content.
