Dominic arrives in Seattle with nothing but hope — hope that he can leave his painful past in Philadelphia behind, hope that he can see his daughter Thea again, and hope that he can start rebuilding a life, even if it means more nights spent homeless. On his way to reunite with Thea, he meets Adrian, a buttoned‑up history teacher with a reputation for “rescuing strays.” Dominic doesn’t trust the nice‑guy routine at first, but Adrian’s warmth and steady kindness get under his skin in ways he doesn’t expect.

I loved this tender, heartfelt story that shines brightest in the quiet, devoted moments between Dominic and his autistic daughter, Thea. His love for her is unwavering — every choice he makes, every hardship he endures, is driven by his determination to be the father she deserves. Their bond is written with such warmth and authenticity that it becomes the emotional core of the book. Adrian’s arrival doesn’t replace that bond; he expands it. His gentle steadiness, his patience, and the way he instinctively makes space for both Dominic and Thea create a beautiful sense of found family. The love that grows between the three of them feels organic and deeply earned, a soft place to land after so much struggle. A moving, feel‑good read about healing, belonging, and the kind of love that builds a home rather than just finding one. This was an MM story with mature content.
