Seb has spent years pining after Marcus — his sister’s best friend, the effortlessly charming man who’s always treated him like the awkward, nerdy kid brother. So when Marcus unexpectedly propositions him at a party, Seb grabs the chance, never imagining that one impulsive night will upend both their lives. For Marcus, Seb has always been strictly off‑limits… until he crosses that line spectacularly. What should have been a one‑time lapse becomes the beginning of something neither of them can shake. Over the years, they keep crashing back into each other’s lives, pulled together by a chemistry that refuses to fade and a connection neither can explain away. But while Seb is ready to give his heart, Marcus struggles with whether he deserves to keep it. Their journey becomes a messy, magnetic, opposites‑attract romance filled with unresolved longing, scientific puns, random animal facts, and plenty of angst — proving that some people don’t just enter your life; they turn it upside down in all the best and worst ways.
I loved this story which explored how desire becomes more intense when wrapped in taboo, and how crossing a line can change everything. This story was over an extended period of time it showed that people orbit each other no matter how much time passes, because the emotional gravity is too strong to escape. I also loved that the story explored how love often grows through the small, silly, deeply personal ways people communicate and that vulnerability is born from discomfort, and love requires both. Lots of emotions and feelings. This was an MM story with mature content.
