Review: Direct Nailing by Katherine McIntyre 4 of 5 stars

Direct Nailing

Direct Nailing by Katherine McIntyre
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rory, a flirty piercer with zero interest in commitment, knows hooking up with clients is off‑limits — and crushing on his coworker’s newly divorced dad is even worse. But the moment Wyatt walks into the shop, older, charming, and unexpectedly sweet, Rory can’t help the spark between them. Wyatt, lonely after his divorce, reaches out to Rory for friendship… only to realize his growing attachment looks a lot like attraction. The more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to ignore the chemistry, the jealousy, and the feelings neither of them expected. But Wyatt’s daughter is Rory’s best friend, making their connection strictly forbidden. Falling for each other might be inevitable — acting on it is the real problem.

I loved this charming, low‑angst romance built on undeniable chemistry and a whole lot of heart. Rory and Wyatt’s attraction sparks from the moment they meet — flirty, warm, and impossible for either of them to ignore — but what really gives the story its emotional pull is how hard they both try not to cross a line that would hurt Harper. Harper isn’t just Wyatt’s daughter; she’s Rory’s best friend, and that shared loyalty adds a lovely layer of tension as the two men tiptoe around feelings that only grow stronger. Their connection feels natural and sweet, full of laughter, curiosity, and that slow‑burn awareness that they’re in trouble the moment they start wanting more. A tender, funny, and heartfelt MM romance with mature content about unexpected attraction, complicated boundaries, and the hope that love can find a way without breaking the bonds that matter most.
