Review: Where There's a Will by Anna Sparrows 5 of 5 stars

Where There's a Will

Where There's a Will by Anna Sparrows
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Connor Stark’s life is pretty great as he has a handsome boyfriend, a thriving business as an Events Coordinator, and a vibrant social life set against the stunning backdrop of Australia’s Gold Coast, he has very few complaints. He even has eye candy in the form of his uniformed silver fox upstairs neighbour, not that he’d ever do anything more than perv on the guy. Then one day tragedy strikes, and Connor is thrust into single parenthood as he is handed a newborn baby and what feels like zero lifelines. Single firefighter Will Bradford is 49 and he has a rewarding job, amazing grown-up kids, and an adorable downstairs neighbour he probably shouldn’t be checking out as often as he does. When Connor’s life is turned upside down overnight, Will finds himself helping the younger man navigate his new reality. With Connor a broken man, and Will concerned about restarting the whole parenting gig from scratch, how can they make a relationship work, especially when life seems intent on throwing even more hurdles their way?

I enjoyed this story where out of a tragedy and loss love came into both of these men's lives and turned them into a complete family full of love. On the way, there were twists, turns, joy and an ear infection. I loved the joy they had and the fact that Will just couldn't help but fall in love with Conor and his daughter. Lots of feelings and emotions in this story that were clearly described and sensitively told. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Hold Me Up by Colette Davison 4 of 5 stars

Hold Me Up (Chasing Gold, #1)

Hold Me Up by Colette Davison
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reece has one goal: to compete in the Olympic Games. With the gymnastics World Championships looming, his dream is one step closer to becoming a reality. When his childhood sweetheart, Alex, walks back into his life unexpectedly, Reece’s world is turned upside down. Alex was the boy who inexplicably pushed him away and broke his heart; the boy he still loves. When the truth behind their break-up is revealed, Reece wants to hold Alex up and give him the strength to heal. But can Reece be Alex’s rock, and remain focused on his training, or will his Olympic dreams suffer in the process?

This was an interesting story with the contrast of the focus needed to compete at the top level of a sport and the events of the past and how they impacted Alex (and by extension Reece). Alex was so brave helped by Reece's love and belief in him which added to the feel-good part of this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content

Review: Double Match by Roe Horvat 3 of 5 stars

Double Match

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Omega Gigi has been happy staying single, but he’s not keen on being a single father. Five months pregnant, after a long deliberation, he employs Perfect Match Agency to find him a stable, reliable co-parent for his kid. Instead, he's matched with an established alpha couple and swept off his feet in a whirlwind of lust. Frederick and Adrien couldn’t be more different—maybe that’s why they've stayed true to each other in a loving bond for years. They balance each other out. That balance is tipped when a gorgeous omega bursts into their life, beautiful, clever, and very much pregnant.

There were a few emotions in this story but most of it centred around lust and so most of the book concentrated on the sexual exploits of the three which detracted from some of the story. However, I was pleased that love was involved and that there was a HEA at the end of the story. Easy to read and understand. This was an MMM story with lots of mature content set in the omegaverse with mpreg.

Review: Unashamedly Us by Colette Davison 5 of 5 stars

Unashamedly Us (Offbeat Shifters, #4)

Unashamedly Us by Colette Davison
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Charlie and Austin are separated while he is on tour and their love for each other grows even though it is not public knowledge. Austin is terrified that when it is out the media will destroy Charlie's career just like they did his. Telling the world is one of many obstacles they have to navigate. The only thing Austin is sure of is that they'll find their way together.

This was a very emotional story as we had epilepsy, telling everyone about their relationship and starting a family together. All of it was done sensitively and with discussion and emotions as those involved worked their way through the events. It was easy to be involved in their story and to be rooting for them and their relationship. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse with mpreg.

Review: Gage by Eve Riley 4 of 5 stars

Gage (Smokejumpers, #4)

Gage by Eve Riley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Firefighter Gage Torres was thrilled to be chosen to go to California to train to fight forest fires but he is sad that he has to leave his younger brothers behind, whom he’s never been away from, but they have some unexpected news of their own to share. Aerial Firefighter Xavier Cruz is an instructor for the Sacramento Fire Division. A former fighter pilot for the Air Force, he suffers from PTSD and has turned to alcohol to fight the nightmares. But if he’s ever going to mend his relationship with his son to protect him like a real father would, Xavier needs to find a way to get sober, and fast. During a routine practice flight, their helicopter is attacked and they crash in the forest. Forced to share body heat when they spend the night in a cave, things take an unexpected turn and survival becomes a night neither of them can seem to forget. Will Gabe and Xavier make the connection between them work, or are they doomed from the start?

I loved this story as Gage and Xavier were there for each other after their adventures during the practice flight. Gage's sensitive and practical help for Xavier around his alcohol dependency was welcome and sensitively written. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story of strong men with deep feelings. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Unapologetically Me by Colette Davison 4 of 5 stars

Unapologetically Me (Offbeat Shifters, #3)

Unapologetically Me by Colette Davison
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Austin Steele is Charlie's idol but also his friend's Dad, nineteen years his senior and an omega just like him. Austin still nurses old wounds and after a one-night stand between them it becomes something more but the problem is Austin wants their relationship a secret and has Charlie as a secret reason why others think he is a divo.

I loved this story with lots of sensitive writing around Austin's issues and Charlie's epilepsy which was factually and emotionally well-written. There was so much passion between these two men in what was an omegaverse equivalent of a gay relationship with the pairing of two omegas. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse.

Review: Untamed by Carly Marie 4 of 5 stars

Untamed (Untamed, #1)

Untamed by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kyle Mitchell has forged his own path in life happy with his job as the head of horse breeding operations at Untamed, working for his best friend, Rand. Knowing his family has never accepted his sexuality, Kyle is shocked to find out he’s expected to be at his brother’s wedding with his boyfriend… a man who doesn’t exist. Rand Everette is living his dream. His quiet life is turned upside down when his best friend, Kyle, asks him to be his fake boyfriend for his brother’s wedding (although both would want it not to be fake). Kyle told his brother he not only has a boyfriend but a Daddy Dom as well. What starts as a fake relationship is just what Kyle and Rand need to find their way to each other.

I loved this story where something fake soon became real and both men found something special. I just loved the way Kyle wasn't able to stay silent around his family and the way that support came from an unusual source. Kyle's brother was just awful and deserved a spanking to try and get him to behave. The party the ranch hands held for Kyle and Rand was just sweet. Easy to read, feel and understand this was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.
