Review: Untamed by Carly Marie 4 of 5 stars

Untamed (Untamed, #1)

Untamed by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kyle Mitchell has forged his own path in life happy with his job as the head of horse breeding operations at Untamed, working for his best friend, Rand. Knowing his family has never accepted his sexuality, Kyle is shocked to find out he’s expected to be at his brother’s wedding with his boyfriend… a man who doesn’t exist. Rand Everette is living his dream. His quiet life is turned upside down when his best friend, Kyle, asks him to be his fake boyfriend for his brother’s wedding (although both would want it not to be fake). Kyle told his brother he not only has a boyfriend but a Daddy Dom as well. What starts as a fake relationship is just what Kyle and Rand need to find their way to each other.

I loved this story where something fake soon became real and both men found something special. I just loved the way Kyle wasn't able to stay silent around his family and the way that support came from an unusual source. Kyle's brother was just awful and deserved a spanking to try and get him to behave. The party the ranch hands held for Kyle and Rand was just sweet. Easy to read, feel and understand this was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: Worth the Risk by Carly Marie 4 of 5 stars

Worth the Risk

Worth the Risk by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Doctor Mark is used to chaos as he is an emergency room doctor and the single father of two boys. He is constantly exhausted as he tries to give everything and every one his attention - just not himself. When he takes a new job in a small town he is faced with new challenges - the move, his nosy family, a new routine and a gorgeous local mechanic who's quickly stealing his heart. Mechanic Jeff has three loves in life; his kids, his garage, and his classic car Louie. He’s yet to find a man who accepts he and his kids are a package deal. When the new doctor in town rescues him off the side of the road, he finds more than a ride to town. When friendship turns into an attraction that leads to a kiss, Jeff discovers Mark isn’t ready to be out. With one man out and proud and the other haunted by his past, will love be worth the risk?

I enjoyed this story with the two men with their own families and their unique features but together they all worked. I loved the way that Mark just needed the time to get his head around all the recent changes that had happened to him and that eventually love won. The way that they were not as discrete as they thought they had been and that almost everyone was rooting for them. A story to make you smile and lighten your heart. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Embracing the Storm by Carly Marie 3 of 5 stars

Embracing the Storm

Embracing the Storm by Carly Marie
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Spencer and Greyson have been married for fifteen years and have two children but when they go to the DASH kink club together Spencer questions everything he thought that he knew about his husband. Greyson has always been submissive but when he discovered age play everything missing slot together and when a Littles Night is announced at the club he makes sure that they go as he has no idea how to tell Spencer how he feels. Running into acquaintances wasn't part of the plan but when it isn't just age plan that Greyson is drawn to he has a burning question - do dragons exist and what will Spencer think? With a snowstorm on the way, there's no better time to find out.

I enjoyed this story but it was a little dry in places because it lacked emotional details and in-depth discussion of feelings (which I felt was necessary for such an important thing). I did like that Spencer took it on beard and did whatever he could to help Greyson explore his new side. I also wondered at the ease and regularity of them palming off their children to family. Easy to read and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and BDSM-like D/s, DDLB and pet play.

Review: Surprise Play by Carly Marie 4 of 5 stars

Surprise Play

Surprise Play by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Malcolm Ward is a retired wide receiver, NFL offensive line coach, and husband to Ryder who is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. His life is hectic and the last thing he expects is to walk into the bedroom one afternoon to find his husband sleeping with the pacifier Malcolm had jokingly given him a decade before. Ryder never intended to let his husband know that the pacifier had become one of his most cherished possessions and certainly not talk about or let him see him using it. When he wakes up after a nap he finds his Malcolm home early and finds him using it. Malcolm quickly discovers something Ryder has missed his entire life. How does he get his husband to believe that far from hating his pacifier, Malcolm is ready to be the Daddy Ryder didn’t know he needed?

This was a sweet story as Malcolm discovered that his husband was a Little, what that was and what a Daddy did for their Little. I loved the way that Malcolm threw himself into seeking knowledge and then sorting out their home so that they had the things that Ryder needed - toys, plates, a sippy cup and Liitle-friendly food. The depth of their love for each other made this something that they could both do. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

** Please note that Surprise Play was released as part of the 2020 Dirty Daddies Anthology. This version has been re-edited and has had approximately 12k words added throughout the book.

Review: Home for Christmas by Carly Marie 4 of 5 stars

Home for Christmas (Finding Home, #5)

Home for Christmas by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jasper, Harrison and Greg are planning a commitment ceremony over Christmas and so Derek decides to have a party in Tennessee for his brothers, Harrison and Greg to celebrate. Then his husband Colt realises that their house may be too small for so many people. Is it true that the more really is the merrier? When they return to California it is a rush for Ty and Declan who are busy with work and their twins. Long hours at the office and busy days with the kids make arriving in Oklahoma that much sweeter. But when Declan’s past comes back into his life, will it ruin the trip? Jasper's family make it to Oklahoma and as a storm grows and snow piles up will it stop Greg's family from making it? The three are going to need a true Christmas miracle to pull off the wedding of their dreams. But is that one wish too big, even for Christmas magic?

This was a fitting ending to the series with all the brothers married to their forever loves and settled into their future. I loved the happiness and inclusion of everyone. Ty was his usual self and so there were definitely some sexy adults-only gifts in the pile around a tree. I loved that Derek was able to be a true little and that it was normalised among his brothers and their partners who accepted him as he was. My only sadness in this story was the last in the series and I will miss them all. This was easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MMM story with mature content and includes some characters with a BDSM-like DDLB relationship.

Already Home (Finding Home, #4)

Already Home by Carly Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Now that Jasper, Harrison and Greg have found each other, they need to start to tell their family and friends about their relationship. After leaving Nashville, Harrison is happier than he has ever been with Jasper and Greg. When he can no longer avoid his ex, he has to go back to Tennessee (with Jasper and Greg by his side) and sort out everything. While there, they will have to face Neil and Derek - can they come out of that unscathed? When Greg's daughter told him to do something crazy she didn't mean to fall in love with two men. Will Greg’s kids prove to be open-minded and accepting of their dad’s unconventional relationship? Jasper isn't out to his family but now he is dating two men in a committed long-term relationship he has to come out to his family. he Scott family has always been accepting of anything thrown their way, but will Jasper’s relationship with Greg and Harrison be the one thing the rest of the Scotts can’t handle? As tempers flare and feelings are hurt, can Jasper, Greg, and Harrison navigate the bumps in the road? Or will the reactions of friends and family be too much for the threesome to handle?

Wow - this was an emotional read and you will cry at several points during this story. Harrison's ex was certainly a piece of work and Jasper's family were self-centred and insensitive. But at the centre of all of that, the relationship between Jasper, Harrison and Greg was solid and reinforced such that they were happy together. This really was a book about family, love and what that means to each of these men. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MMM story with mature content.

Submission (Undisclosed, #5)

Submission by Carly Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dean is great with numbers and his friends consider him a genius who is successful and cominant. But they don't see his insecurities he keeps hidden after an accident nearly took his life leaving him scarred and in pain. He can no longer the the Daddy he once was. Then his friends become determined to find him the perfect boy. Merrick is home to stay with a restaurant to remodel, his adopted cat and a group of friends to keep him busy. Helping Dean find the confidence to date might keep his friends from examining his own love life. Then it becomes clear to Merrick - Dean doesn't need a boy - he needs a Daddy. The heart can’t be controlled, and helping Dean discover his middle side has unintended consequences. Will the two see that Merrick’s the Daddy Dean needs? Or will they lose more than their friendship along the way?

I loved this story with the two friends who know each other so well that their love was easily changed into something far deeper. I liked the way that Merrick helped Dale with his burns and massaged the tight muscles and flesh that were causing him such pain. The group of friends were so protective of each other and I loved the way that they were able to all be together in their various kinks. Easy to read, feel and understand this was definitely a story to make me smile. This is an MM story with mature content with a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic. I'm sad that this is the last book in the series as they felt like a group of my own friends too.

Secrets (Undisclosed, #4)

Secrets by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Larson knows that Doms think he is too big to be a little and he'll never find his own Daddy. So he buries himself in remodelling homes, creating stunning woodwork and his work as a firefighter. Then he spots a new moderator in DASH wearing a lace bodysuit and everything changes. Canyon has retired from the corporate world and moved back to Nashville and after a request from an old friend, he finds himself at DASH drawn to blushing a little across the room. Canyon tries to find himself a hobby but that leads him to Larson's home and seeing him across the club is very different to discussing interests in person. When Canyon’s offer to take Larson to DASH forces them to talk about their secrets, will it all be too much? Can the tattooed Dom with piercings and a love of lace be the Daddy the tall, muscular little needs?

I really enjoyed this story with the dream come true for Larson and the gentle way that Canyon treated him was perfect. I loved the way that the other littles and their Daddies went to bat for Larson to make absolutely sure that Canyon was the right man for him and didn't break his heart. This was a story high on emotions and they were sensitively told so that I could feel them as it unfolded. I loved Marley the dog and how he immediately responded to Larson. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic with diapers.

Review: Attraction by Carly Marie 4 of 5 stars

Attraction (Undisclosed, #3)

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dexter had never hidden his sexuality and his fiery red hair and satin panties don't blend into the background. He is the complete opposite of his new next-door neighbour who is just grouchy. James learned at a young age that you can't rely on anyone as they always leave. He can't work out what to make of his neighbour or the lingerie he sees him in. The more he gets to know about Dexter the more fascinated he becomes which is not right for a straight man. As Dexter breaks through the barriers he once thought were impenetrable, James finds himself questioning everything he’s ever known about himself. Is it possible that Dexter could be just the thing James has been missing all this time? Or will James’s trust issues be too much to overcome?

I enjoyed this story with the two men who would appear as opposites but over time it became clear that they were actually the missing piece for each other. I loved how determined Dexter was and that really James stood no chance against Hurricane Dexter. This was easy to read and understand and had a lot about feelings as James thought about the attraction he felt to Dexter and what his sexuality actually was. This is an MM story with mature content.

Close to Home (Finding Home, #3)

Close to Home by Carly Marie
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Single workaholic Jasper Scott split from his girlfriend two years ago and hasn't felt drawn to anyone else since apart from a sexy Navy SEAL he met at his brother's house two years ago. After his husband died Greg Joseph devoted his life to raising their two young children and his job as a Navy SEAL. Now he has retired and the youngest is now going to college. After dropping him off he accepted a drink with a friend and ran into Jasper Scott who he couldn't get out of his head. Harrison West had walked in on his partner of ten years in bed with another man and so fled home to Oklahoma to figure out what to do next. At a bar, the last thing he expects to find is his long-time crush Jasper Scott kissing another man and he is not prepared for the feelings that have awakened. For Jasper taking a chance on a relationship with Greg is confusing, but when they both realise they have feelings for Harrison they have to decide if they want to pursue it further, Can they mend Harrison's broken heart?

I enjoyed this story with three men who started from different angles - two with broken hearts (one from death and the other from infidelity) and Jasper who had never been with a man before. There was a lot of analysis of the men's feelings and emotions, which became a little confusing as there were three of them. Easy to read and mostly understand. This is an MMM story with mature content.

Curiosity

Curiosity by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Trent has spent most of his life in love with his best friend Logan but they are not compatible as Trent is a Dom and needs control which Logan can't give him as he is not a submissive but an excitable pup who is not looking for a master. But Logan is starting to fall for a sweet little he met at the club. Aiden is overworked and has too much to do with not enough time to do it. He needs a Daddy to hand control over to but in Logan, he has found a friend and protector who created unexpected feelings. A problem at the club brings the three men together and Aiden can see that Trent would be the perfect Daddy for him except that he is clearly in love with Logan. With the bond between the pup and the little that is too great to break can the three find a way to make a relationship work between them?

I enjoyed this story with Trent and Logan in love with each other but incompatible in most ways but physically and the little with his puppy who will care for and guard him no matter what. It was sweet to see how the three men worked to come together and it was perfect for them to be together. This was definitely a lesson in love and how it can take many forms. This was easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MMM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic with diapers and puppy play.

Desires (Undisclosed, #1)

Desires by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Physical therapist Caleb Masterson does the job he loves after graduating college and has a home. He has given up on having a relationship in his life after being described as too "high maintenance". Then a sexy man with salt and pepper hair hobbles into his office a turns his world upside down. Owner of a successful construction company Travis Barton has a desire for control in his relationships but that has pushed his past boyfriends away. The last place he expected to find the man for him was in a physical therapist's office. When Travis overhears an intriguing conversation between his cute physical therapist and a co-worker, he’s suddenly not so anxious to be back at work.

I loved this story with the sweet Caleb who just needs a Daddy to spoil and care for him and Travis who needed to control someone at just the right level for Caleb. I loved the way that Caleb's best friend (and colleague) had to push him to be with Travis even though he knew he would miss him. This was definitely a story of love and how that could develop into caring for your partner (even if it was in a non-traditional way. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic.

Seeking Sunshine (Sunshine Ranch, #1)

Seeking Sunshine by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Liam has far too much on his plate and he barely has the time to sleep. This is complicated as he is the guardian of his 8-year-old brother Jackson. Finding a man is not on the radar for him because no one is going to take on his bother and they really are a package deal. He knows he shouldn't flirt with the owner of the Sunshine Ranch where Jackson had riding lessons (something else to stretch his budget and time) but he likes being seen even if there is no chance it will amount to nothing. Garrett is a Daddy and a fixer and meeting the older brother of the newest rider has his need to protect and help at a high level. Overhearing some phone calls Garrett knows Liam is brilliant but he doesn't think so and then also hears that Jackson is struggling at school. Suddenly Garrett knows how to help him. Liam is not convinced he can be the boy Garrett needs and can't believe that he wants them both. It's going to take a little time for Liam to see it Garrett's way.

I enjoyed this story with brave Liam who was overwhelmed with all the things he had to handle and his responsibilities and frustrated Jackson who just couldn't understand maths and his ignorant teacher who made things worse for them both. I loved the way that Jackson was eventually helped and that he got the diagnosis he needed as well as Liam finally getting the confidence in himself and his own abilities. A sweet story that will pull at your heartstrings. his was easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content with a BSDM-like Daddy/boy relationship.

Coming Home (Finding Home, #2)

Coming Home by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ty Scott has spent his life trying to keep his best friend Declan in the friend zone because he is straight. It's not easy to share a condo with him but it is better than losing his friendship. Declan Andrews is 26 and a Navy SEAL for the last seven years. He does everything to keep his best friend in a closed box but one night seeing him flirting with a guy in a bar snaps something inside of him. Will staying in the closet end up pushing Declan’s best friend, and the man he’s loved for most of his life, away for good? Will Ty’s sexy secret be too much for Declan to handle? Or will an on-the-job accident stop everything before it starts?

This was a story full of emotions and introspection by both men as they sorted out their feelings. While Ty was definitely gay Declan was demisexual and Ty was his person. I loved the way that Ty let Declan explore him and handled his firsts with all the love and care that they deserved. It was dramatic when Declan's accident happened and I was so glad that Ty's family pulled through for him. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

At Home by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Derek Edwards is the lead vocalist for country music’s hottest band and knows coming out as gay might end his career. So he can't let himself think about finding a boyfriend or the Daddy he really needs. Until he’s dragged to a concert and sees his sexy one-night stand strutting around on stage. With a record label, management team, and fans watching, will they be able to find what they both need?

I loved this sweet story where Derek was able to find his home in Daddy Colt and Colt found his boy. Derek was a really nice and sweet guy who you couldn't help but adore and when he was playing with his trains while holding his blanket you just wanted to hug him. Easy to read, feel and understand which was definitely an awe story. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Seth (Johnson Family Rules, #3)

Seth by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Seth Johnson has worked hard to not be remembered as the openly gay NHL player and so finding a boyfriend is very much on the back burner. At a Halloween party, he uses it as a perfect time to let loose safe in the knowledge that no one can recognise him not even Phantom, the masked man who knew everything he needed without being told. Mazdon Grabowski had received a surprise call and so he is in Nashville getting a chance as an NHL player. Dragged to a Halloween party he meets Pretty, a man wearing a pink nightie and a blond wig who is desperate for his control but hesitant to share anything personal. Fearing discovery Seth doesn't give Phantom his name or number. When Mazdon discovers his Pretty is none other than Seth Johnson, his teammate and friend, he has no choice but to confront him. The question is: How will Seth react?

I loved this story of the two sportsmen who became teammates then friends and their love which had developed over time. I loved the wise words from Seth's family which helped them all to take control of their lives. Seth was so pretty in his lace and silk plus make-up that I was really happy that he had found someone to accept him completely as he was. This had a fair amount of emotion in the story as well as some angst and tears. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Nathan (Johnson Family Rules, #2)

Nathan by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Elliot's life was planned out for him: college, job, marriage and then family. He has rarely done anything for himself but when his sham marriage falls apart he has to rebuild from the ground up and admit what he has hidden from everyone - that he is gay. Nathan thrives with control and order and so having no say on the new attorney threatens them both. Before meeting Elliot Nathan made it his mission to run him off as quickly as possible until he spots him at DASH the gay BDSM club in town. Could Elliot be the unicorn Nathan has been looking for but first he needs to get the quiet attorney to turn off his brain and just feel. If Nathan can find a way to be the Dom Elliot is just discovering he’s always needed, Elliot might just be the unicorn that changes Nathan’s life.

I really enjoyed this story with the friendship between Elliot and his ex-wife, the broken relationship between Elliot and his brother Kyle and the intense relationship between Submissive Elliot and Dom Nahan. Elliot was so quiet and shy which fed into his need to stay hidden in the background but it was great to see him coming into his own sexuality and personality. I loved their relationship and the way that it developed. This was easy to read, feel and understand. It is an MM story with mature content with a BDSM-like D/s dynamic.

Zander (Johnson Family Rules, #1)

Zander by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Noah's world changed when he realised that the gorgeous Daddy Dom he saw at DASH was his new boss. He knows that they should talk but he just keeps hurting himself every time Zander is near to him. Zander is the chief deputy and he knows he needs to keep things professional with the newest deputy but that is hard when he continuously gets hurt and he just wants to make things better. He needs to find the mysterious little he saw in DASH with the tattoo so he can stop obsessing over Noah. An accident has Zander's personal and professional lives collide when he discovers the man from DASH is Noah. Now the overprotective Daddy isn’t going away until he’s sure Noah is okay. Communication goes a long way and if you don't ask for what you want you are not going to get it. If these two men can communicate, Daddy and Boy might just discover that they are exactly what the other has been looking for.

I enjoyed this story with the two strong men who were different in that one was a Daddy and the other was a boy. I loved the mixups that happened and that they added to the story although I did find the constant accidents by Noah to be a bit much towards the end of that phase of the story. I loved their relationship plus the deep love that they developed for each other and the accepting way that the Johnson family were so friendly and helpful. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with a BDSM-like DDLB story with a DDLB dynamic.
