My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Dean Wagner has endured a lifetime of trauma — losing his newborn after an assault, surviving a cruel marriage, and only finding peace once his husband died and he reunited with his eldest son. Now safe in Hobson Hills with his omega sons, he finally lets himself hope for more. Raymond Potts, a gentle beta who’s fallen for Dean, worries about risking their friendship and the bond he’s built with the children. Still, their connection grows as they try to build something real despite age gaps and society’s expectations. But danger resurfaces when Michael Cook turns his attention back to the omega he hurt years ago.
This story beautifully shows the deep love and steady care Ray gives Dean and his family as Dean continues to heal from the abuse he suffered under his late husband. I loved watching that gentle support slowly grow into something deeper and more meaningful between them. Just when everyone thinks the danger is behind them, it resurfaces — and Ray is right there, protecting Dean and standing firmly by his side. It’s a sweet love story with touches of danger and drama, written in a way that’s easy to read and easy to feel. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.
