My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Rue, still shaped by a painful past despite being adopted into the Starling family, struggles to believe he deserves love. A personal crisis pushes him to confront that fear, and a night with his PA, Monty, shows him that one partner can’t meet all his needs. In Bayfield, he meets Kendrick, who fits just as naturally into his life. A week together isn’t enough, until Kendrick proposes an unexpected arrangement. As Rue grows closer to both men, his emotional walls begin to crack, forcing him to face his past and decide whether he can accept that he’s worthy of their love.
Rue’s past trauma still shapes every part of his life, and counselling alone was never enough to help him believe he deserved love. What finally allows him to move forward is the genuine happiness he finds with Kendrick and Monty — the first time he truly feels seen, wanted, and safe. Their steady support becomes the turning point he’s needed for years. I also enjoyed that this story spent time with the recovering omegas from the abusive factory. Those scenes added depth and heart, showing healing on a wider scale. There were emotions and feelings throughout, though I would have loved for them to be an even bigger part of the story. This was an MMM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse.
