Review: Vodka and Virtue by Raquel Riley 3 of 5 stars

Vodka and Virtue

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Rory MacGregor best friend’s nephew grew up while he worked abroad. Now that he's home, his priorities have shifted, moving Carlisle Carrick to the top of his ’to-do’ list. He is exactly the type of man Rory dreamed of settling down with, but every time he gets close to him, he runs away. How can he convince him they'd make a perfect match? Carlisle Carrick is seventeen years younger than it Rory who wears leather, and rides a motorcycle for kicks. He doesn't see how they have anything in common.
So why do I still burn up every time I catch him watching me?

This was a sweet story of a determined man who thought that their age gap was irrelevant and that their attraction overrode everything. I loved their dates and how romantic they were. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Alpha and His King by Kiki Clark 4 of 5 stars

The Alpha and His King

The Alpha and His King by Kiki Clark
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Kai flies out of a shed, swinging a rake, Rick’s life flips upside down. As alpha, Rick’s dedication to his pack has never wavered - until Kai. The pull he feels toward the younger man is more than a simple distraction, but Rick won’t let himself lose focus. Not while a hidden enemy is drawing near. Moving in with the grumpy alpha who saved him is a big change for Kai, and it isn’t long before he begins to ache for something he can’t have. As a half-human shifter responsible for his three younger siblings, he knows he can never be Rick’s mate. Pushing aside their doubts and insecurities, they grow closer. But when the pack’s enemies strike, bringing their fears to fruition, Rick and Kai have to decide if they’re willing to risk it all to be together.

I loved this story with Kai and his siblings who had endured so much in their lives already having to change their beliefs based on what they had been told to the facts they encountered in the Kincaid Pack. Rick was such a kind and fair man who tried to do what he thought was best but stood no chance against Kai and their mate bond. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Trouble With Spells by Raiven Matthews 4 of 5 stars

The Trouble With Spells

The Trouble With Spells by Raiven Matthews
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Callum made a promise to his family that there would be no spell casting while they were away. It was well known in the Turner household that his spells tended to go a bit, shall we say, wonky. Then he blew into his store. Michael Endicott the third. Or fourth? Maybe fifth? It didn’t matter. What did matter was that he was staring at his high school crush - who clearly did not remember him. Seems a vengeful one-night stand had placed a bad luck spell on Michael, and he needed help. It was just an easy reversal spell. No problem. Only somehow instead of reversing the spell, Callum managed to bind them together.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who were stuck together and managed to fall in love. Callum was funny and his family were nuts too. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Prince, Charmed by Duckie Mack 4 of 5 stars

Prince, Charmed

Prince, Charmed by Duckie Mack
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Malachi is a prince and next in line for the throne, but as his coronation gets closer, strange things keep happening to him. Florian grew up in the palace alongside the prince. The two were always together until it was discovered that Florian had magic. The young witch was torn away from his friend and cast out from the only home he’d known. Despite the turn his life had taken, he has worked hard to build a reputation for helping people. When Malachi realises his problems are magical, he seeks out his childhood friend. As Florian works to undo the charms controlling the prince, that bond they once had comes back even stronger than before.

This was a sweet story of two men who had always loved each other but were separated and then reunited later in life. I loved that Florian was able to be himself and received an apology. Mal and Florian were a force to be wary of and I loved that they were a force for good and positivity. Lots of feelings and emotions in this story. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Rum and Rendezvous by Raquel Riley 3 of 5 stars

Rum and Rendezvous

Rum and Rendezvous by Raquel Riley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

After a string of failed dates, Ryan was ready to give up on love. Carson Carrick was a self-proclaimed dating expert. Yet, under his careful direction, things went from bad to worse. he'd started to wonder if his terrible advice was deliberate. Was his one-night stand purposely sabotaging his chances at love? Carson had no idea what he was doing when he offered to help Ryan find his match. But he was hot, gullible, and desperate -he needed Carson's help. He should never have touched him, because now he couldn’t keep his hands off him. And the more he helped him look for the right guy, the more he became convinced that it was him. How could he make him see he had more to offer than one night of rum and rendezvous?

This was a sweet story as Carson did his best to get Ryan to see that he was the right man for him. It was a bit dishonest to "help" Ryan to fail but he did seem to be happy with the end result. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Warrior's Walk by Raquel Riley 5 of 5 stars

Warrior's Walk

Warrior's Walk by Raquel Riley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When Rhett Marsh's leg shattered, he thought my whole world was shattered. Riggs pieced both back together again, and then he disappeared. Navarro Riggs is a lot of things - devastatingly hot, his saviour and a brave warrior. But he didn't expect him to be, his physical therapist if only he wasn’t trying his damndest to stay far away from him. Navarro Riggs met Rhett on the battlefield under a hail of bullets and blood. Their bond was instant, forged in trauma, unbreakable and everlasting. He wasn’t just his patient, he was his. He trusts Rhett with his life, but can he trust him with his heart?

I loved this book with the meeting between Rhett and Riggs under fire and then their meetings afterwards as Riggs tried to help Rhett and stay professional. This book was full of deep emotions, feelings and reactions to circumstances. I was fully invested in both men and the Bitches with Stitches. I adored this series and feel gutted that this is the end. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Infuriated by Lola Malone 4 of 5 stars

Infuriated

Infuriated by Lola Malone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kai keeps crossing paths with the man under a death warrant who describes himself as No One. But he can't help noticing his elegant mess of soft curls and large eyes. Desperate to know his name he can’t help longing for him - for this gorgeous man who is far from no one to him. When Phoenix's Dad disappeared he took the light away and left him and his Mom in a place where he couldn’t fight her demons with so much drink, and so much disappointment. With every decision he makes he is lost in a war with no allies. He tries to hide, but Kai, next in command to rule the Void, has his piercing eyes on him.  They search for him, warm his body and soul, and make him want things he’ll never have. But when the war reaches a scorching climax Pheonix is given the chance to redeem himself. The price? Everything he's come to love.

I enjoyed this story as we had the chance to know more about No One and the influences he had in his life. There were a lot of complex feelings and emotions and I found Pheonix's life with his Mum heartbreaking. I liked the relationship between Kai and Phoenix and thought that the happy ending was worth all of the effort it took to get there. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
