Wild Love by Alisa Woods
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Ex-Army man Noah Wilding comes back home on medical leave because his family is being targeted by an anti-shifter hate group and he wants to help where he can. So he goes undercover to try and lure out the haters. Emily Jones is the lead programmer for an app that hooks up shifters and humans called WildLove for a night of hot sex and no commitments. She hasn't had a date for years since a day when her family failed to protect her. So she thinks one night with a shifter will help her to move on with her life. When Noah swipes right for Emily she thinks that her dream one-night stand is about to happen but with the kate group planting car bombs during WildLove hookups they are both on the front lines. They have to hunt down a killer before he strikes again… and before they do more than heat up the sheets. Because humans and shifters might get “Wild for a Night”… but they’re not supposed to fall in love.
I really loved this story which was a romantic rollercoaster in many ways but it all worked in the one direction and that was the right direction for them both. I loved the way that they worked together and the way that they both made sure that the other was respected at all times. Noah was such a sweetie I could've almost fallen for him too. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content and a sweet HEA that was definitely deserved by them both.

Review: Wild Game by Alisa Woods 4 of 5 stars
Wild Game by Alisa Woods
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Owen Harding is ex-Army and after spending a year in Agent Smith’s experimental cages he is now working as a bodyguard for beautiful gaming heiress Nova Wilding. Currently, a hate group is hunting the Wilding pack, and Owen's wolf just wants Nova, but she is clearly off-limits. The pack members and especially one of the betas clearly want to mate with Nova to gain both her and the gaming company that she inherited from her assassinated father. But when a bomb goes off in her car she finds herself in her sexy bodyguard's arms and has to keep telling herself that he is the wrong man at the wrong time for her. While Nova fights to keep her gaming company afloat, and Owen fights to keep her alive, the hate group circles closer and closer… until they both find that falling in love might be the most dangerous game of all.
I loved this story which had lots of levels of drama and danger as Nova and Owen had to roll with the different events as they happened with the one constant - that they were together doing their best to stay safe and together. The beta was certainly a nasty piece of work and I was glad when he was no longer a problem for them both. Well written and very enjoyable. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: A Baby for Chashan by Erin Tate by Celia Kyle 3 of 5 stars
A Baby for Chashan by Erin Tate by
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Healing Master Chashan has been with his wife Heart Master Khaza for over a hundred years but she is still able to surprise him. That is exactly what she does when she finds a pregnant woman in trouble outside of the Preor Tower - she promises to care for the child if the worst happens. Now Chasan has to make a choice - claim the human baby as his own and put joy in his childless mate's heart or turn the child over to the human authorities. What will be his choice - honour or love?
This was a sweet novella which gave you no background on the characters so cannot be read as a stand-alone story unless you take some things on trust. I loved the way that they cared for the child and the way Khaza was very clearly determined to keep the child - something that I could not see Chashan denying. Easy to read and enjoy. Contains a little explicit sexual content.

Review: Cain's Cross by Dale Mayer 5 of 5 stars
Cain's Cross by Dale Mayer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
At the end of the previous book in the series, Cain heard the killer telling him that "You're next" and so he knows that time is running out both for him and the rest of his team. As some members of the team continue to search for Bullard in the ocean, Cain is focussed on tracking the killer's history to hopefully lead to whoever is after them all. A trip to Sicily brings more pertinent information to light but also even more puzzles to solve as well as an unexpected light into Cain's life. When Petra picks up two men at the airport for her Aunt and Uncle she has no idea just how much her own personal life is about to unravel. Not only do they bring up some old memories that were quite terrible, but they are also shining a light onto an unsavoury part of the local town - somewhere that she avoids. As the present starts to blow up with Cain and Eton at her side they all try to stay alive as bodies start to drop all around them.
This was certainly an action-packed instalment of the series as they started to make progress on the mystery of who was after the team but it came at a cost for Petra as her past and present life unravelled as associated parts of the story became clear. I loved the way that Cain and Petra were both determined to get to the bottom of things that affected their own lives and were determined to survive no matter how devastating the information was. I have to say I admire Petra who coped with betrayal after betrayal and hit after hit but did not crack in her need to know what had and was happening. That proved to me that Cain and Petra really did belong together. Well written and easy to read and understand. I definitely read this book faster as I needed to know what was going to happen next. Contains a very small amount of sexual content at the end of the book.

FEATURED NEW RELEASE - Dragons Don't Eat Meat by Kim McDougall
Dragons Don't Eat Meat: A Paranormal Suspense Novel with a Touch of Romance (Valkyrie Bestiary Book 1) #wolfpackreads
I wasn’t a killer. I didn’t even kill rats if I could help it. I was a humane pest controller, not a Valkyrie executioner.
But I couldn’t let this dragon poacher live either. His wound would only fester. No medication, magic or otherwise would heal it. His body would rot from the inside out. No one, not even this scumbag deserved to die like that.
I raised my sword for the killing blow.
And the clumsy little blue dragon bumped into me again.
“Quit it!” I said turning my attention away from the unconscious man.
The dragon sat back on his haunches and watched me curiously. His stubby wings flared open and closed like bellows breathing air into his lungs. He stood no taller than my hip, with dark blue scales on his limbs grading to lighter blue on his pear-shaped belly. He had the big, copper eyes of an anime character and a blunt snout, speckled with silver freckles. A soft fluff of blue feathers crested his head.
He was ridiculously cute.
“This is your fault.” I pointed my sword at the unconscious poacher.
Dragons Don’t Eat Meat: A pest-controller with a soft heart can easily end up with an apartment full of rescues. When Kyra finds an abandoned baby dragon, she doesn’t want to bring him home, but until she hunts down the brute trying to kill all the dragons and start a civil war among the fae, she’s on babysitting duty.

Review: Baylor by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars
Baylor by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A yacht crashed into a tanker out to sea and it appears of the face of it to be a tragic accident, but suspicions start when it appears that a gunman was spotted on it just before the crash - especially when the yacht was owned by a US Governor, his wife and his daughter who were all on board at the time. Suspicion is cemented when no bodies are found on board. Gizella wakes up to find her father injured, her mother in a bad shape and the kidnappers arguing over who would get her as a prize. When they are found, Baylor manages to whisk her away in the dark of the night but she is not out of danger yet and if he can't find the kidnappers she might never be safe again either.
This was a very dramatic story where Baylor and Gizella needed to work together in order to get away completely from the attackers while also trying to work out who the players were in the plot. It was all complicated at various points in the story as complications kept surfacing and they were having to make it all up as they went along in order to make sure that they covered all the bases. I loved the way that their friendship developed quickly due to the circumstances but also they had to learn trust as quickly as possible in order to get to the bottom of everything.

Review: Lifeless in the Lilies by Dale Mayer 5 of 5 stars
Lifeless in the Lilies by Dale Mayer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Doreen Montgomery has just finished attending a funeral in Kelowna and is wandering around the cemetery when someone hits her over the head and leaves her lying facedown among the funeral flowers. No one knows the reason who or why but it does enable Thaddeus the African grey parrot to disappear (or even be abducted?). Doreen is so overwrought that she refuses a trip to the ER to be checked and goes straight home hoping that Thaddeus has already returned there. When he eventually turns up he has an SOS message tied to his ankle which leads Doreen to a corner of the town she is unfamiliar with where she spots a curious little boy that no one will talk about. The Doreen starts to get threats to her doorstep and then in person. Add together Thaddeus, the little boy and Corporal Mack Moreau’s brother, who is the lawyer looking into her divorce situation, Doreen has her hands full. It reaches a crescendo when her former lawyer turns up at her door and then in a muddle, she opens her front door to someone who has a serious grudge to take her down - will it all work out or will Doreen get hurt (or worse)?
This was certainly a dramatic story which had plenty of action from all sorts of areas. There were two distinct areas of interest but it took some time before it became clear that they were not related. I found the plot involving Doreen being hit over the head interesting and I would like to know how that might continue in the next book in the series. As for the story with Thaddeus's disappearance and the little boy that was a deep mystery that was incredibly sad as well as a source of joy at the end. Well written and easy to read, feel and understand.

Review: Fury of Angels: An Urban Fantasy Mystery with Fallen Angels and Fated Mates by J.C. Andrijeski 5 of 5 stars
Fury of Angels: An Urban Fantasy Mystery with Fallen Angels and Fated Mates by J.C. Andrijeski
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Angel Dags has discovered that his oldest friend appears to be Lucifer, the Angel of Darkness which definitely means that the demons that Dags is fighting are actually serving their master Lucifer. Dags might have to kill him but then discovered that he can't kill him as there is an arcane rule that angels can't kill other angels. Now he has gone underground and so apart from training Dags is trying to find him as he knows at some point he will have to face him. Then his friend and LAPD homicide cop calls asking for Dags to check out a new murder in Koreatown which she believes have supernatural origins as it is so grisly. She believes that a dark angel is involved and Dags has to agree that it is probably his old friend. Things are likely got get weirder with the involvement of arcane witches, angel worshipping cults and a lot of things he wasn't ready to know about himself and Phoenix who he is still trying to protect. This is definitely going to get even more dramatic than he suspected.
I loved this story which was full of so many twists and turns as Dags discovered new information and both benefits and limitations in being an angel. I loved the way that he eventually had to move forward with the relationship between him and Phoenix and that she was far stronger than he ever imagines she would be in handling all of the changes that being an angel introduces. I loved the protectiveness of Dags and the strength of Phoenix which I look forward to seeing more of later in the series. Well written and easy to read and feel all of the thoughts and emotions experienced by the characters. Contains some sexual content. I can't wait to find out what happens next now.

Ivoth by Erin Tate by
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Elle Davenport is enjoying life as the grey sheep of the family now that she works for their corporate enemy Cole Pharma in the Preor Tower. She has massive, muscular and winged aliens around her at all times but there is just the one Prior Warrior who she cannot get off her mind (constantly) - Ivoth sen Pezet’li who is not hers as they have not shared the Knowing, but she really wants him. Ivoth had made a vow to his sire that the family line would not end with him. However, when he is in any contact with Elle he does not know if her can ever let her go - he just craves her and he knows that sadly if he is to fulfil his vow he is going to have to make the choice - lose Elle and have a chance at dragonlets even though his heart will always be hers, or stay with Elle and break his vow. Before he can make this dreadful choice he has to keep Elle alive as someone is determined to kill her first - he only prays to Syh he is successful.
I enjoyed this story although I spent much of it broken hearted and praying for a solution to their dreadful dilemma. It was interesting to understand the illness and the way that the rest of the human population had treated people with that disease. I'm sure there are many real-life situations that can be seen as similar to that situation. I loved their deep love for each other and the determination to find a solution and make it work after it was becoming increasingly obvious to them both that life really was not tolerable to be apart. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Burning for Him by Michelle Fox 4 of 5 stars
Burning for Him by Michelle Fox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Selena Connor's fiance stole her life savings and she has crushing debts. Add to that her boss is doing his best to harass her into his bed as persistently as he can. So when she receives a magic locket which brings demon Khan to her for just three nights to ravish her body it is a welcome distraction. His dark magic unlocks some deep secrets from her body and heart and so the burning desire she has for him allows him to bend her to his will and erase all of her real-world cares. Sadly the locket only binds him for the three nights for some soul-searing pleasure and just as Selina realises that she just cannot live without him demon Khan disappears and she has to cope with reality. Her boss has framed her to take the fall for some serious crimes that he has committed and if she does not give in to his advances now she will end up in jail. With nothing left to lose Selina takes a leap of faith on the one man she wants to truly possess her if only she is the one woman to free him.
I really enjoyed this novella which was definitely in the erotic classification. I liked the premise of the story around Selina and three fronts - Khan, her ex-fiance and her boss. For such a clever woman who was obviously great at her work, she definitely had issues with her management of relationships with people. Very enjoyable and I loved the way the story ended. Contains a lot of explicit sexual content which involves a lot of BDSM.

The War Master of the Preor third fleet Taulan joi Lana Coburn will soon have two dragonlets in addition to his mate to love and protect. If only he can live long enough to see them born which Lana described as being hatched. This is a short story and so only 63 pages long. I enjoyed the reason for Taulan being convinced he would die soon and when we discover that reason I had to laugh. Full of drama and love to make you smile with a warm glow.

Zadri by Erin Tate by
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Delaney Cole was pregnant and her family insisted that the baby be terminated so she ran away and went to Preor Choosing Station Tau in the hopes of finding a mate who would help and protect them both. Luckily she found her mate there but then had to watch him die via their connection via the Knowing. Now she has a second mate and in some kind of cosmic joke, it is the Preor Warrior who killed her first mate. Yes he is gorgeous and his peach scales give her a need to caress him, but she is torn considering what he did to her first mate. Zadri was born a son of Syh (he was orphaned and unwanted) and yet he never imagined every finding a mate. Yet, against the odds, Delaney is his. He did rip her first mate's throat out but having experienced the Knowing with her he will not let her go - her curves, inner strength and unborn young belong to him. When others try to rip her away from him he is determined to explain the gravity of their error in a slow and painful manner - he just hopes he can reach her before they escape!
This was a very dramatic story that had a lot of events happening around both Delaney and Zadri as they met in very unusual circumstances and then had to fight to stay together against the odds. A very enjoyable story with plenty of mystery, danger and drama. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Rendan sen Tarkan is the Offense Master to the Preor Third Fleet and he has found his human mate. She is smaller than him, has sky blue eyes, curves and a delicious scent. It has taken him over two hundred years to find her and he will kill any male who dares to take her no matter who or what they are. Human nurse Carla Butler went from being unemployed to being on a Preor battleship caring for the human mates of the Preor warriors. Then she found a sexy pink scaled Preor warrior who was her mate only to watch him beaten to hell. They seemed to live next door to each other in condos on the Prior Tower on Earth so they could start to learn about each other and build a relationship. So when another Preor tries to end her life he doesn't quit trying to do that - she just hopes that Rendan is always there to save her when he tries one more time.
This was a nice story where Rendan and Carla have to cope with so much danger that they are at risk of life-ending not long after they actually found each other. Add to that their own personalities and the work they both had to do in order to build a strong relationship in order to add to the Knowing which just gives compatibility and attraction it was nice to experience all of that. Well written and easy to read it had all of the drama and danger during the attacks on Carla and her rescue. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Kozav by Erin Tate 3 of 5 stars
Kozav by Erin Tate by
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Nurse Grace Hall is on duty when five Preor warriors are brought into the emergency room and the doctors do nothing. So Grace steps forward and because they look human she starts to work on them doing what she can to help. One warrior draws her attention with his teal coloured wings and pain glazed eyes has her torn between needing to touch him and healing him. When she finishes working on them she blacks out and knows nothing more. Kozav sen Aghin is the Primary Warrior of the Preor Third Fleet and is very weak when he wakes up on the battleship. Yes, he is healed but he feels as if something is wrong and then it hits him - he found his mate on Earth and she has been left behind to be alone and unprotected which is totally unacceptable. As he still carries guilt from the great conflict he is determined not to fail the curvaceous green-eyed woman who is his to cherish and protect. When someone attempts to take Grace from his life Kozav is prepared to do whatever it takes to get her back even if it means he has to kill one of his own kind. Can they have the future that they both want and deserve?
I liked this story which had lots of danger and drama involved right from the start. I loved the way that they had to settle into a relationship even though they both had the Knowing which was good to see. Grace was definitely sassy and took absolutely no prisoners which was great to see. Easy to read and very enjoyable. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Taulan by Erin Tate 3 of 5 stars
Taulan by Erin Tate by Celia Kyle
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Lana Cooper is really at rock bottom - she only has $100 left, has no job and her car has finally given up on her - all because of a guy. Her focus is on getting a job, but just the one walk along a beach changes everything - she ends up with a job but not what she thought - she is now the mate of a Preor dragon male. Taulan sen Pavon is anxious to return home to Preor as he feels he has to abandon his hopes to find a mate and go back in order to heal in the privacy of his aerie. He no longer feels worthy of a mate after his body was badly damaged in an explosion. But then he finds Lana and just her presence has initiated the Knowing for him. Can he live long enough to claim her and can she see past her father's prejudice in order to love him? There are still those Preor who despise the joining of humans and dragons and so will they both survive in order to find out if they have a future?
This was a dramatic story with plenty of twists and turns as they both fought both known and unknown forces in order to have the chance of a future together. I loved the way that they communicated and worked together as they came to know each other as well as the way that they overcame their problems. Contains some sexual content.

In Dire Straits by M.J. Nightingale
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Realtor Annie has been unlucky in love and so the only affection she has now is from her dog Buddy. Just when she feels like she is at rock bottom she meets Gerri Wilder from the PDA who has just the mate in mind for her. Dire wolf shifter Bill Armbruster needs help to find his fated mate sd hid own choices in the past have not worked out so he trusts the PDA to work their magic for him just like they did for his parents years ago. As soon as he meets Annie he is completely taken with her - could she be the one for him? When Bill's past puts Annie in mortal danger will he be able to take on the pack leader and handle the psycho ex who is determined not to take no for an answer? Can their love survive so that they have the future they deserve?
I enjoyed this story which was a sweet novella which was a typical PDA story with fated mates, the psycho ex, danger and saving the day before a HEA. I enjoyed the link back to Bill's previous pack and was just a bit disappointed that there could have been more involvement of Bill's mother and the vents that must have led to the acceptance by Annie of the fact that he was a Dire wolf. Contains explicit sexual content.

Desiree After Dark: Paranormal Dating Agency by Tina Donahue
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Desiree has had dreadful luck with men especially her last boyfriend who turned her before he had even realised that he was actually a Vampire. Undead and definitely wiser, she now hosts an internet show called Desiree After Dark where she tries hard to help women avoid users like him. However, his ex-girlfriend is currently stalking Desiree and blaming her for stealing him away form her. It's certainly not true but the treats to Desiree are coming hard and fast as it is starting to escalate. Panther shifter Hunter is sent by the PDA to be her bodyguard determined to protect her from any peril. When they meet it becomes clear to him that she is his fated mate and they can't keep apart during steamy nights and sensuous days while they work to trap her stalker. As the stalker increases her game, Desiree struggles with her own doubts about how their relationship can work going forward. Can they move past these troubles and have the HEA that they deserve?
I loved this story which was a nice twist from shifter/shifter or shifter/human to a shifter/vampire scenario. It was great to work through all of the doubts and complications as to why a future between them could fail and how they worked their way past it. Well written and easy to read I was quite addicted to the story by the end. Contains explicit sexual content.

His Cougar Dream by Moxie North
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Bar owner Titus Payne had been burnt from a relationship gone bad before and he was not interested in going through that again. The fact that famed matchmaker Gerri Wilder insisted that his match was nearby was not something he was prepared to accept. Cougar shifter Sadie Nash had seen her brother find his mate with the help of Gerri and even though she was happy for him she just wanted her own mate now - what she never expected was a reluctant human who only seemed to know the word no. Can these two hearts who are destined for each other get past all the roadblocks and have the HEA they deserve?
I really enjoyed this story where Titus was determined to not get involved and Sadie was just as determined to end up with her true mate. I liked the complications that they faced and how they were able to get past them together as a working unit. Well written and a fun read this was definitely a quick read to give yourself a little happiness. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Heart of a Dragon by Alisa Woods
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Lucian is the Dragon Prince of the House of Smoke and needs to spawn a dragonling to uphold an age-old treaty and extend his own life. However, he is still in the dilemma of loving Arabella and yet not being able to be the cause of her death. Can he find another woman to love him and have his child or is he doomed to die and break the treaty?
This was an extension of the first book in the series and sees it continue the story of Lucian and Arabella. I loved the way that the whole family became involved and how they all managed to get him to see sense. However, I was irritated that this story is being continued into yet another book. Yes, I want to know how it finishes but I am not prepared to buy the third book to find out how it all ends - not when many other authors/series cover this in just the one book. So yes it was well written, but I was irritated with the self-pity and the attitude that Lucian had. In the end, I almost felt like shouting in frustration. Contains explicit sexual content.

Shaw by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Poppy Cain is a panther shifter and has been living a secret life for years as she hides her true life from her overbearing uncle and cousins who are the centre of a local shady business in their local town. They have decided that they are going to use her as a pawn and she has decided that enough is enough and run away. What she never foresaw was finding her mate as part of that process. Ace computer hacker Shaw Eagan is trying to use his skills for the good and has decided that the evil Cain family have gone too far and so has cleaned out their bank accounts and decides to steal a special serum to become a shifter and to protect both himself and his family. After meeting Poppy, sparks fly between them but her life is in danger and she has no time to meet her mate plus he has no idea that she is actually a member of the Cain family. When the truth is exposed and lives are threatened that trust is on the line. Can Poppy and Shaw put away their pain long enough to survive together?
This was a very enjoyable story which looked at how trust is important in a relationship and that it has to be carefully managed. It also looked at how sometimes people only see what they want to see or think they can see and that sometimes we need to be careful and look at real facts. I loved all of the action and emotional angst that they both went through which was all very dramatic. Contains explicit sexual content.

Bennett by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Dakota Alcott is a tiger shifter and has never settled in any place as she looks for her people and - she describes them as adventures. She has an interview for Nick Milan's protection company and hopes this could be her final job change. Bennett Huxx has more degrees and PhDs than he has had girlfriends but is more focussed on the shifter serum his friend Gray needs his help with. He is determined not to let the beautiful bodyguard distract him (or at least that is his intention) but she seems to have a different idea. So when a mysterious group of men attacks Bennett and Dakota to get their hands on the special serum a snap decision has to be made to save Bennett's life after serious injuries and so Dakota does what she feels is necessary to save him and he is replaced with a very sexy shifter. In a battle of intention and who is in more danger than the other will they both survive?
I really enjoyed this book which had a lot of danger and drama built into the story as they both fought for each other's lives. I liked the relationship between Dakota and Bennett and how that developed into something much more meaningful. I loved the way that they both did what they needed to do in order to save the other as was their definite priority as mates. Well written and easy to read. Contains explicit sexual content.

Brent by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Wolf shifter and military veteran Marie Levine is settling into her new role as a bodyguard even though she still has to cope with PTSD What she never expected was that as part of her next job she would come across her mate. Brent Williams is a chemical engineer and bona fide geek. On the run from a previous employer, he is wanted and hiding out with a friend but agrees to go to a party. There he meets the most beautiful woman who is completely out of his league because he is geeky, wimpy, small and more importantly human. After the blind date goes wrong Brent ends up almost dying but is saved by Marie when she uses a magic serum Zeke had created. Now Brent is an alpha and full of strength and determined to clam Marie even if they destroy some beds on the way there. When death comes calling again to stop the sex and romance Brent will have to fight for both his own life but also that of Marie. Can they survive all of this and have the HEA they want and deserve?
I really enjoyed this story which had some deep subjects looking at PTSD, chemical uses and warfare. I like the relationship between Marie and Brent and how they had to work to get past things that seemed irreversibly broken in order to end up with a far stronger relationship. This story had a lot of action and violence as well as explicit sexual content. A very enjoyable read that was easy to understand and feel their thoughts and emotions.

Fated to the Three Dragons: A Dragon Shifter Reverse Harem Tale by Melody Rose
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Viola was a witch who was born into a world where magic was hidden from the normal population. She was bound to a prophecy to three dragon shifter brothers Aiden, Drake and Collin. In school, they had made her life hell and there were resentments on all sides after injuries on all sides after their playground scuffles. Now they are bound together and have to find a way to work together and get along before something very dark and sinister destroys their town. Now they are all very desirable and Viola is full of very strong magic. Fate will bring them very close together and they will all have to get along - can this happen before the evil is due to arrive.
This had a good story and the evil they had to defeat was interesting. I enjoyed the best friends of both Viola and the brothers being together element and Viola's clairvoyant grandmother elements. I did find the whole brothers and separation of the individual sexual encounters with Viola a little rushed plus it didn't gel together as anything more than her being very promiscuous which felt wrong and very unlike a typical reverse harem situation. I enjoyed the story I just wished it had been written in a slightly different way. Contains explicit sexual content.

Gray by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Shifter and model Skylar Milan has had enough of the fashion industry and their beauty standards - she misses both her family and carbs. The last thing she expected on the flight home was to have her hunger for something as simple as a cheese sandwich as a very different hunger for the cute doctor sat next to her on the aeroplane which ends in her banging him in the toilet. After all - she had a great time and is never going to see him again. Dr Gray Hart is in town for a serious meeting with a group of world leaders to show them a new technology that he has discovered with the possibility to change the worlds as we know it. Knowing he is being followed he goes to Nick Milan to hire a bodyguard. So when beautiful Skylar is assigned to him they are both surprised. Gray has not been able to stop thinking of her since their entry into the mile high club and now all he wants is to lay her bare on a bed so he can lose himself in what he wants to do to her. The problem is that he can’t. She's a shifter and he's a weak human. Things go very wrong during the meeting and an attack leaves Grey at death's door - using a scientific wonder serum does he survive and become something out of his deepest fantasies. He is now a shifter and so much stronger than he was before - now he has the strength to tear Skylar's clothes off - he just needs to prove to her that he is the right man for her, right after he saves the world!
This was a very enjoyable story which showed how even when not a shifter mates were attracted to each other. I loved the plots and subplots at play and the way that even with adversity they were able to get past them and find their happy place both with themselves as well as each other. Well written it was easy to feel and understand what was happening in the story. Contains explicit sexual content.

Bad Angel: An Urban Fantasy Mystery with Fallen Angels and Fated Mates by J.C. Andrijeski
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Dags Jourdain is an angel - just not the kind who has a harp and the celestial chorus, but instead the kind that hunts demons. He now faces a hell-portal that he cannot close, hot movie star Phoenix-X who might be an angel that he cannot be with as well as not stop thinking about and lots of demons that need to be removed from humans the LA area has become very complicated for him. An old friend from high-school has turned up asking for help to find his wife (who was also at school with them) as she has mysteriously disappeared he finds himself unable to say no - especially when he finds out that demons are also behind that too. It seems that life is going to be far more complicated than Dags can ever imagine involving anti-angel drugs, guns, pool parties and when the demons strike back Dags might not make it out alive.
OMG, this was definitely an action-packed second book in the series as Dags tried his best to save humans and get rid of all the demons. Through it all, he kept to his belief that he was not going to do anything to activate Nix's angel within her, which was a big ask at times. Looking back at all of his efforts, he just came across as a total jerk who really just needed to bow to the inevitable and stop torturing them both! Well written and easy to read and feel the thoughts and emotions, I just want to give him a massive shake before he really makes everything so much worse. There is a line between being noble/loving and he is really crossing over into the side that is stupid and cruel. I'm definitely intrigued as to what is going to happen in the next book of the series and just hope he mans up and behaves with more consideration to his mate.

Review: Kiss of a Dragon by Alisa Woods 3 of 5 stars
Kiss of a Dragon by Alisa Woods
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Lucian is the Dragon Prince of the House of Smoke who is trying to live with the implications of a ten-thousand-year-old treaty that says that if he does not spawn a dragonling before the end of his 500th year, he (and the treaty) will die. Although he is a triplet, he is the eldest by a hair's breadth but he cannot face the horror after the failure the last time he tried. Lawyer Arabella was saved from death in a dark Seattle alley by an incredibly beautiful man who arrived on golden wings. Having been taken to his lair her eyes are not open to the existence of immortals. He says he will only set her free if she finds him a mate, but in fact, they both need each other and they can only succeed if they find a love between them that is True.
This was a lovely story even though some of it was filled with Lucian feeling huge amounts of self-pity and avoiding the truth that was right in front of himself. I loved the way that they helped each other through various problems and the way they actually listened to each other. This story had a lot of promise and almost lived up to it but in the end, failed to quite make it. Enjoyable but I felt very frustrated through much of the story. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Zeke by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars
Zeke by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Alexa Milan is a Lioness and does personal security for stars. He doesn't do romance, but the sexy and geeky scientist who she is assigned to protect makes her heart do flip-flops. How is she supposed to concentrate on protecting him when all she can think of is doing unspeakable things to him on his lab table? Scientist Zeke Tristone has always hated being the weak guy but running from bad buys almost gets him killed but Alexa does what he asked and applies the four needles containing his drugs to his neck to keep him alive - with the pleasant side effect of giving him the kind of body he could only dream of. The problem is that the dangerous animals inside of him what Alexa more than their next meal but he needs to try and hold back - he wants to ensure her safety from other (plus himself) first. Can he get himself together and have the HEA with Alexa that they both want?
I liked this story which was full of danger, drama and action as Alexa and Zeke fought for their lives as well as a future together that their fate (and animals) demanded. I liked the way that the attraction was there and that everything aligned so that they could have the future that they deserved. An enjoyable story that had plenty of action. Review: Alpha Geek by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars
Alpha Geek by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Lioness shifter Scarlett Milan is fighting with her inner lion about the fact that she wants her human boss Knox Daniels more than she wants her next breath. She just finds his glasses and box tie incredibly sexy but knows that she cannot relax around him as she is afraid she could break him (or worse kill him) during a night of wild sex. Knox might be a bean counter but he has lusted after Scarlett since the moment he met her. The only thing stopping him is that she is his best friend's little sister (and that is not a certain thing). After he breaks up with his girlfriend, the first thing on his to-do list is getting his hands on Scarlett. Certainly, being murdered is not on that list. When Knox is viciously attacked he almost dies and it is only the use of science that ensures that he survives. Now he is no longer a weak human, although no one actually knows exactly what he is. All that anyone does know is that he is possessive, aggressive and demanding that Scarlett be his. Can they team up to keep him alive while they figure out what he has become - a deranged killer or the most powerful alpha ever known?
I loved this story which was full of danger, drama and excitement all the way through. I loved the relationship between the two and the way it was developing. Scarlett was a sassy woman who was not prepared to be pushed around by anyone - even her mate. I loved the double jeopardy or death through the assassination attempt or the injections used to save his life. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Caught by the Wolves by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars
Caught by the Wolves by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Jade Candy has become an instant mother to her teenage nephew Ben and has also started a new job. The last thing from her mind is a romantic relationship that will get in the way of her fairly clueless parenting skills. However, that is exactly what she gets from two gorgeous wolf shifters. She is really not sure if she is dreaming or if her anxiety is making her hallucinate, but Dean and Gavin are offering her hot nights with a double effect. Alpha wolf shifter Dean and his beta Gavin know Jade is their fated mate and therefore meant to become their third as part of their triad. But Jade is too focussed on taking things slowly to realise what a great life they can have together. When Jade and Ben's lives are threatened, Ben is going to have to give up some of the secrets he is keeping so that the truth of his past can come to light. Jade might be prepared to put her life on the line to save Ben, but Dean and Gavin will do everything they can to protect them both. Can they all have the HEA that they deserve?
I loved this story which was very passionate from the start and through the passion developed love and devotion. It was full of drama and danger and through it was the underlying devotion between a shifter and his mate. I loved the example of what makes a family and that it does not have to be a traditional 1 to 1 with no room for anyone else. Well written and easy to read, I found this story addictive as I raced through the book wanting to find out what was going to happen next. Contains explicit sexual content all the way through the book.

Review: Tempting Her Protector: Federal Paranormal Unit by C.D. Gorri 4 of 5 stars
Tempting Her Protector: Federal Paranormal Unit by C.D. Gorri
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Wyvern shifter Larimar Wessex is very bored especially as his brother is newly mated and his father is on the mend. He starts to wonder what he can do before his next assignment is allocated. Curvy Kimberley Scott has recently returned from an Archaeological dig in Giza and when priceless artefacts got missing she is the obvious person to blame. While being questioned by an FPU agent she is attacked and so he decides to call in backup to protect her - Larimar is the person assigned to the job. When Larimar sees a photo of Kim he knows that she is his fated mate and that she needs his help urgently. Especially as the theft of the artefacts is just the tip of the iceberg. There is a far deeper and more sinister plot and Kim finds herself at the mercy of a man who is prepared to do some unimaginable things to get what he wants. Can Larimar save his tempting mate before time runs out and the evil wins?
This was a very enjoyable story that had another or the Wessex brothers finding his mate. The story was very dramatic, with lots of drama and danger over the artefacts that were found during the archaeological dig in Egypt. I loved the connections back to the previous book in the series and the various characters in it. I loved the way that Kim was a strong and sassy woman who was determined to do things her way even though she had a few body confidence issues. An enjoyable story that definitely was addictive from start to finish. Contains some explicit sexual content.

My Dragon Lord by Alisa Woods
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Prize-winning journalist Ember was caught stealing files from the computer of a billionaire playboy and as she is determined to get to the bottom of the women trafficking ring (and find her missing sister) she is mad at herself for such a stupid mistake. Now she is shackled to a wall in a literal dungeon in a literal castle tucked in one of the Thousand Islands at the border of Canada. Now she is a prisoner/guest of Dragon and sexy Lord of the Lair Niko who is determined to find his soul mate… and he’ll do whatever it takes to save his people from extinction. Can she find her sister and can he find his mate?
I loved this story which had the necessary elements of true mates, a precarious existence, evil and a very dangerous rescue involving loved ones on both sides. I loved the way the story was built up over time and the relationship between Ember and Niko. I can't wait for the next instalment in this series now. Well written and easy to read and understand. Trusting Her Protector: Federal Paranormal Unit by C.D. Gorri
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Wyvern shifter Jasper Wessex has just been given the assignment to protect a woman who is on the run from a minor Egyptian Demon. Normally as his father is currently ailing he would have passed on this one, but when he looks at her photo he knows that he cannot resist the owner of those flashing blue eyes. Friends with the Wyvern's assignment handler Jennifer Dylluan, recently divorced sculptor Carolina Moore has just returned from a trip to Egypt spending time on an archaeological dig, she has returned with an unfortunate souvenir - and ancient Egyptian Demon who will stop at nothing to claim her. Then she has another dilemma - what happens when her protector poses more of a threat to her than the person she was running from?
This was a great first story in this new series where a family of wyverns are working on cases which seem to result in them meeting their fated mates in dangerous circumstances. Well written, I really enjoyed this story which was definitely addictive as it focussed on a sassy BBW who was not going to be dictated to by any man no matter how sexy he was. I loved the ending and am looking forward to the next instalment in the series. Contains explicit sexual content.

I, Angel: An Urban Fantasy Mystery with Fallen Angels and Fated Mates by JC Andrijeski
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Dags Jourdain is an angel - just not the kind who has a harp and the celestial chorus, but instead the kind that hunts demons. What that does mean is that he is a social weirdo who likes a rather strange and solitary life due to the fact that he will black-out when he flies and will wake up in random places completely naked. He also has to sleep in a windowless room and can't drink alcohol due to a habit of randomly starting fires. He earns his living working as a PI in Hollywood, California around the demon-hunting however, life changes after he gets into a fight against a demon in an alley and saves the life of a movie star. He then discovers that someone has opened a hell portal underneath the Hollywood sign, a dead guy has left him and he has to cope with a homicide detective who hates him since high-school who suspects he is a serial killer. All of a sudden life really sucks. Can he come out of all of this with his life and freedom?
Wow - this was definitely an action-packed story as Dags went from one crisis to another doing his best to remain as the good guy while trying really hard to avoid prison. It was a very fine line that he was trying to stick to but all credit to him as he was able to achieve what he had to do while not getting into really deep trouble. I loved the power that he had when he really needed it and the self-control he was able to keep even though he was relatively inexperienced at what he was doing. I really hope he gets the chance to explore the events he experienced in the next book in the series and that we get to see the actors that he worked with inside this book. Well written, it was easy to feel and understand the thoughts and emotions that the characters were experiencing in this book. I'm looking forward to reading book 2 of this series.

Review: The Dragon's Christmas Treasure by Sophie Stern 4 of 5 stars
The Dragon's Christmas Treasure by Sophie Stern
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is a novella-length story. Noam King never liked Christmas as he thinks it is the one time of year when people act badly towards each other either fighting over gifts, arguing about standing in line or harassing shopkeepers. His mother insists he is just grouchy because he is lonely but he really doesn't think that is true. Heather has been a single mother alone for along time as she runs for what feels like forever. She finds Christmas stressful as she struggles to keep food on the table for both her and her son as well as having one that is wonderful. When he meets Heather Noam has a choice to make - stay grouchy and lonely or change and take the chance that life has presented him with and have a future with his Christmas mate? After all, every dragon deserves a treasure.
This was a really sweet story of love and fate where Noam fought it, but it really was a pointless exercise. A really sweet story to give you a smile over the Christmas season. Well written and very enjoyable.

Bear Protector: A Paranormal Shifter Romance by Bella Love-Wins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Witch Kiera is the Chosen - a virgin and specially trained to change a group of men into Kodiak Bear Shifters in order to protect Mazmark against the Destroyers who come every winter to destroy entire cities. She has just nine days before the spell has to be cast. However, when the captain of the shifters Xander Oslo joins her to prepare for the ceremony he is loud arrogant, insistent and very quick to anger and completely irresistible. Can he be relied on when it comes for the time for a way and can she handle everything when it becomes clear that the current leader has completely misled everyone and is lying to them?
This was a great combination of a paranormal story (shifters, witches etc) and a dystopian story set in the future. There was a lot of drama, danger, complicated plots and a very brave woman and her mate who was a reluctant shifter who was determined that no one else should be forced to become one against their will. The very enjoyable and very clever world-building that makes me wonder what else could happen in this special world. (My guess is the friend and second in command). Very enjoyable read. Contains sexual content.

Shane by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Shane's first Mavericks job is personal - childhood friend Shelly has been kidnapped and the kidnappers have demanded that Shane is the one to rescue. When he finds out the rescue is actually a test for him it makes him seriously angry - he hates being used. However, these men mean business as Shane finds a body count too high for comfort. Shelly knew Shane would come for her especially when they learn a second woman has been kidnapped and help for over 6 months. So they have to find this woman and rescue her next. The question is, is there the one killer boss or are there two as it becomes very confusing. As they all try to secure their freedom they need to find a way through all the murky waters that are confusing things - if they can't then no one is going to have a happy ending.
I loved this story which had at its core friendship and trust between Shane and Shelley and on the opposing side ownership, zero respect and abuse. It gave an interesting comparison and it made it far more noticeable because they were so different. Well written and easy to read, I found myself addicted to this story and was reading faster and faster as I just needed to know what happened next - would they survive or perish? Contains some sexual content at the end of the story.

Ryland’s Reach by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The plane they were on explodes over the ocean and Ryland and Garret are close to each other. Tabi is a nurse and is sailing nearby and manages to somehow drag them both onto her boat to save them. This was enough to make sure that they all survive a storm until a US naval vessel can pick them all up. However, for Ryland, it seems that the bombers of the plane were not content to leave them growing in the sea but are still targeting him. Tabi never expected her sailing holiday to include rescuing two badly injured men but it ended with the loss of her beloved sailboat. However, now she is finding it thought to let go of them even with more of Bullard's team coming to them to help but it now appears that she is a target too.
This was a dramatic story set partly in the ocean and partly on land in and around the hospital. There was a lot of drama and excitement as the mystery and drama built up as the story progressed. I liked the way that Tabi's protective nature started to turn into something much more. Well written and easy to understand it was a very enjoyable story. Contains a little sexual content at the end of the story.

The plane they were on explodes over the ocean and Ryland and Garret are close to each other. Tabi is a nurse and is sailing nearby and manages to somehow drag them both onto her boat to save them. This was enough to make sure that they all survive a storm until a US naval vessel can pick them all up.
