Review: The Alien's Vacation Fling: Mountain Lion by Lorelei M. Hart 3 of 5 stars

The Alien's Vacation Fling: Mountain Lion (Tourist Destination: Earth #2)

The Alien's Vacation Fling: Mountain Lion by Lorelei M. Hart
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Alien alpha Vonel loved swimming and when the Oveh games came to his planet he entered only to finish in second place. Now he has a fancy medal and an all-expenses-paid trip to Earth to take on his own. Omega mountain lion shifter Ferris is unemployed after the factory he worked in closed and so with his mountain lion needing time away from the city he sees a flyer for River's Bend Resort he decides to head there for a few months wishing he had someone to share it with.

This was a sweet story of love between mates Vonel and Ferris. I loved that Ferris enjoyed swimming as his animal and that they were able to spend time together as a couple having fun in the water. Sad and emotional when Vonel had to return home but so relieved that they were able to be together. Contains explicit sexual content. This is a MM mpreg book and so be clear before you decide to read it.

Review: Don't Believe the Stripe by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars

Don't Believe the Stripe (Paranormal Dating Agency, #44)

Don't Believe the Stripe by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tiger shifter leader of Nova Aurora’s Southern Mountain Streak Taariq Xanon has a big problem - rumours say that the streak is cursed because he has not chosen a mate and his people are starting to demand that he settle down. So when he meets his mate he hopes that everything is going to be fine. Aurora's human queen Bella has not seen her friend Sierra Rylee in years and when Gerri Wilder suggests to Sierra that the perfect anniversary gift for Bella is a visit from her she is excited plus if she meets a nice guy in the process all the better. Of course, Gerri has a plan and as soon as Sierra meets Taariq she is willing to let the hot alien shifter sweep her off her feet although someone in his past is not happy and is willing to stop at nothing to break them apart. Can they figure out who is targeting her before it is too late?

I really enjoyed this story with the leader finding his mate, having to be careful as she was human, the evil old friend and the internal squabbles. It was an enjoyable story with some great levels of danger and drama at times. I loved the way that Gerri worked on this story and it made a nice change. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Torment by Tana Stone 3 of 5 stars

Torment

Torment by Tana Stone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Tori stowed away on the enemy ship set on sabotage to punish them for killing the doctor at the end of the previous book what she didn't want was for a cocky Dothvek warrior Vrax to follow her onto the ship too. He gets under her skin constantly and then he is captured and offloaded into an alien slave market. She knows she can't leave him behind, but can she save him from one of the notorious slavers? Vrak can't describe his need to protect the fierce bounty hunter who certainly doesn't welcome him or his help. When he is taken to the Den of the Thieves he fears he may never see her and his home again which is made worse when he is purchased by a madam with plans for him. Can Tori rescue Vrax and can they move from enemies to lovers?

I enjoyed this story if you did your best to ignore Tori's chip on her shoulder and her manic determination to be strong and independent. I enjoyed the exploits in the Den of Thieves and some of the characters that they met and were able to help them. It was also good to find out more background to Tori and an explanation of why she was how she was. Easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.

Review: The Alien's Vacation Fling: Wolf by Lorelei M. Hart 3 of 5 stars

The Alien's Vacation Fling: Wolf (Tourist Destination: Earth #1)

The Alien's Vacation Fling: Wolf by Lorelei M. Hart
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Alien Nevol booked a "human" style vacation when he had a mate to travel with him, but then the mate left him for another and he thought he would do alone and explore in order to recover from the broken relationship. What he never expected was to be drawn to a human neighbour who was not quite human. Omega wolf shifter Anderson needs a place to crash while he adjusts to begin a rogue as leaving his pack was the harder decision he ever had to make - one that he felt he had to do in order to give his twin brother a chance as there were pack whisperings because he was actually born five minutes earlier. When he stumbled into River's Bend Resort he knows he found his temporary home, a quiet wilderness and a sexy neighbour next door. What he did not expect was to find a hot alpha, fated mates, true love and an adorable baby.

I enjoyed this MM mpreg romance which is a powerful love story between an alpha alien and an omega wolf shifter. It felt hopeless at times and I admit to actually crying, but thankfully they did get a precious chance at a HEA. It was a powerful story with some great descriptions of the characters of the main players. Easy to read and understand. Contains sexual content.

Review: Heartbreak Love: Small Town Friends to Lovers Romance by Maggie Rose 4 of 5 stars

Heartbreak Love: Small Town Friends to Lovers Romance (Pine Creek Series Book 2)

Heartbreak Love: Small Town Friends to Lovers Romance by Maggie Rose
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Steve Connor gets ill he realises that his dreams of a family in the future might not be possible after he starts his cancer treatment. Tessa has given up on love having been burned too many times but is conscious of a clock ticking and is wondering if having a child with a friend would be a better solution. So Steve and Tessa decide to make an agreement to have a child together. But life is not that simple and love can get in the way. When decisions from the past also start to intrude into their lives can they keep everything professional, get to their goal of having a child together, and can they just be friends or will their feelings surprise them?

This was a lovely story that was very enjoyable. It had an unconventional start with the agreement between them but feelings of love were developing if only they could admit them to each other. Full of tender moments, drama and some danger. I loved the way that Tessa supported Steve as he struggled with his cancer treatment. Well written, easy to understand and feel, and very enjoyable. Contains explicit sexual content.

** Please note - this book was previously published as Reborn Love by Maggie Mundy and had been extensively rewritten and recovered.

Review: Accidental Alien by Celia Kyle by Erin Tate 2 of 5 stars

Accidental Alien

Accidental Alien by Celia Kyle by Erin Tate
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Human Joyce is a secretary but when Doshian commander Kede Tria sees her he abducts her and takes her to his battleship. He is overbearing and everything she never knew she wanted but he is only the one who can save her when an accident brings her towards inevitable death. Joyce was insufferable with her constant arguing and basic ungratefulness for some of the opportunities and kindness showed to her - I have to be honest and say that I pretty much hated her throughout the entire book. Kede Tria was Joyce's lifemate but in his own right he is one of the most feared Doshian warriors and he will do pretty much anything to keep her safe and with him.

I really enjoyed the story of Kede, the council, the various warring factions and the final solution. What I did not enjoy was Joyce's personality, her constant arguments, her ungratefulness, which just wore on me to the point I was close to not finishing the book several times. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Seriously Hot Ship by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars

Seriously Hot Ship

Seriously Hot Ship by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Singer Tayla Shaw is singing on a cruise ship but it is not what it seems because someone who offered her protection holds her as a prisoner and living in fear. When she meets a handsome passenger who gives her romance and scorching kisses her heart fills with the hope that she can finally escape. Dragon shifter Jaxon Scott is trapped into taking a holiday on a cruise ship with his parents after his mother tricked him (not realising that renowned matchmaker Gerri Wilder was actually the one who arranged it). When he sees Tayla it becomes quickly clear to him that she is his fated mate and he must try to hide that fact from his parents. Tayla and Jaxon try to fight their attraction but there really is no point. Jaxon starts to suspect that the captain is holding something against her and so their happily ever after is threatened by dark secrets and a diabolical captain.

I enjoyed this story with the unenthusiastic Jaxson, the family dynamics around their business, and the effects of finding his fated mate. I loved the way that Gerri and his mother played a high profile role in providing distractions for Jaxson and Tayla to have some time. I loved the way that the story ended and what was actually behind the captain which was not exactly what he wanted it to be. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content. Definitely a HEA.

Review: Cocky Jock Wolf: A Curvy Girl and Wolf Shifter College Sports Romance by Aidy Award 3 of 5 stars

Cocky Jock Wolf: A Curvy Girl and Wolf Shifter College Sports Romance

Cocky Jock Wolf: A Curvy Girl and Wolf Shifter College Sports Romance by Aidy Award
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Wolf shifter and all-star football golden boy Eli just wants one night off from all the expectations and go and see his favourite horror movie and eat popcorn. He hopes to get that chance if the cute nerdy book girl helps him and as long as his wolf doesn't pick up her scent - the last thing he needs is a fated mate. Charlize was told to go on the date or get fired by her boss who runs the Moon Beam coffee shop. Hazing picked the wrong guy to go out with, she then takes advantage of a great offer and ends up leaving with a football jock with more notches on his belt than books he has on the shelf. Then she realises that Eli is much more than that and she starts to develop feelings for him which is topped when he turns into a werewolf just like in a horror movie!

I quite liked this short book with the curvy movie and book-obsessed girl meeting her fated mate who is hiding in plain sight as a top college football player who was far more intelligent and deeper than that. A good fun read that was easy to comprehend as well as the fact that it morphed into a real HEA too. Contains explicit sexual content.

Crimson Moon Hideaway: Coming Into His Own

Crimson Moon Hideaway: Coming Into His Own by J.C. Layne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Roderick (Rod) Lovelace has lived a normal life in England with his adoptive parents. University educated he never found a job that he could settle in but the reason for that starts to become clear after his 25th birthday he has started to get strange urgest to go to places and when a heart-shaped section on his wrist began pulsing one afternoon he finally freaked out. His parents introduced him to Nigel Lovebond and together they told him that his birth father was a cupid and therefore so is Rod as he is now coming into his cupid powers. Nigel takes him to the Crimson Moon Hideaway to attend the Cupid Expo where he meets his mentor Seth Lovejoy who is going to help him to learn to be a cupid. As Rod learns the details of his calling he also learns that he is part of an accepting fraternity of brothers who have his back (at the same time he might just find the love he didn't know he needed).

I enjoyed this story which helped me to gain an insight into how a cupid does its work and what it involves. I loved the fact that a cupid might not know when they are an assignment but they are not immune to cupid arrows. Easy to read and understand it was a fun read that was quite addictive.

Review: I Married A Merman by Regine Abel 3 of 5 stars

I Married A Merman

I Married A Merman by Regine Abel
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Human Neera has a strange illness that human doctors don't understand but having seen alien doctors she is not what she thought and the atmosphere of Earth is actually killing her. Too broke to relocate to a better world she instead uses the Prime Mating Agency to marry a sexy merman with scarlet hair, pink scales and a toe-curling voice. Echo is over the moon when he is told the agency has found him a match but finding out his mate has weakened health causes his protective instincts to surge forward. After their initial meeting, he finds that her courage, resilience and personality have him totally enthralled. But as Neera evolved into her true form, will Echo's homeworld become too toxic for her too so that she has to leave again ensuring that she loses her happiness?

I enjoyed this story with the complication of the health problem, the cure, and that it could change her to the point that she loses everything again - even if she has to leave the man she now loves. I loved Echo's parents and her failures to learn some of the subtleties in earning part of the language of the planet which is totally relatable for anyone who has tried to learn a foreign language. Echo was an adorable person and if he were ever to lose Neera I would happily offer myself as a replacement! Easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

Review: Hand of Glory by Nazri Noor 5 of 5 stars

Hand of Glory (Arcane Hearts Book 5)

Hand of Glory by Nazri Noor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Artificer Jackson Pryde and his boyfriend Xander Wright and the great guilds on the Black Market are finding the strength and spell power to rebuild in the aftermath of the fae attacks. But the fae keeps on coming using illusion and glamour to infiltrate. The upcoming Greyhaven Gala seems to be a perfect opportunity to attract them. Hearing whispers of a strange and powerful candle that will help Jackson to find the fae source he does his best to work out what he needs to complete that task. Jackson is also building up the courage to move on to the next phase in his relationship with Xander - he just needs to find the time!

I loved this book which made some progress on what was causing the fae to be so bold and attack as well as include some adventures for Jackson and Xander to do what they do best and work with kindness. I loved the descriptions of the events and their impact on the two of them which meant it was as if I was there. I also loved the actions of some of the guild masters and feel that it will be enough to make almost all of Jackson's dreams come true. Lore was fantastic as normal. Easy to read and understand.

Review: I Married a Birdman by Regine Abel 4 of 5 stars

I Married a Birdman

I Married a Birdman by Regine Abel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Human Luana lives on a colony but her colony is under a threat of attack and her father is the leader and grievously wounded, so she goes to the only other native species on the planet - a peaceful bird-like race. Agreeing to a marriage of convenience to one of the Zelconians would secure the protection her village desperately needs. As much as it terrifies her, she is also intrigued by the hybrid she is to marry with his eyes full of stars, wings and majestic voice. Dakas is shocked when his soul demands Luana as soon as she enters their council chamber and his empathic abilities sense the fire and determination within Luana. He now has a need to protect her village but also to conquer her heart. Can Lunana accept their union or will war destroy their chance at happiness?

I really enjoyed this story with the humour of the leader of the birdmen which made him quite human as well as the potential grief with the human who assumed Luana would be his. The resistance of technology by the colonists was interesting and the way that the younger generation persuaded them to increase their use for certain things. I loved the relationship between Luana and Dakas which although it started unusually it was wonderful to see their souls working in such a way that they were bound to fall in love if they gave it a chance. Luana was sassy and strong but also very clever and her use of medical technology was great to see. Easy to read and understand it also contained explicit sexual content.

Zane by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tiger shifter and former Navy SEAL Delilah Jones works for the shifter protection agency. As a professional, she always keeps a cool distance from the various clients she has protected in the past. Then she meets a new human client and ultra geek Zane when she realises that he is actually her mate. Her tigress is desperate to keep him as her own but she is fighting hard to keep that distance so that she can do her job well. Zane needs help after learning that his bear shifter partner is a money launderer but after meeting beautiful Delilah he starts to wonder how he can ask her out for a date. Can she keep him alive for long enough to testify against his former partner in court or will they have to use the mystery serum? When the worst happens the effect of the serum is instantaneous - the question is will they both survive this change too?

I really enjoyed this book with the shifter protecting the human, the serum, unusual effects and timelines and then a desperate battle for continued survival. I Married a Naga (Prime Mating Agency #2)

I Married a Naga by Regine Abel
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Hunter Serena came to Trangor to participate in the First Hunt she never expected to find herself forced to marry an Ordosian or be executed. She knows nothing of his people, nothing of him except that he has fangs, scales and a crazy long tail. Thankfully she only has to play the part of being a wife for 6 months and then she will be free to leave. But big and intimidating Szaro has other plans and she wonders how she can remain indifferent when he does so much to please her. From the moment he sees her he is fascinated by the delicate human female who is also a fearless and skilled hunter. The lingering taste of her on his tongue is intoxicating and so claiming her is no hardship for him, but convincing her to stay willingly is a challenge he relishes!

I enjoyed this story with the lizardman and the human with such an unusual start to their marriage. Serena was a very feisty and determined woman and it was certainly no simple task to persuade her that she belonged there with him. I loved the way that the Ordosians not only hunted but they cared for the environment and made sure that everything was as in balance as it could be. Easy to read and understand. I Married a Lizardman

I Married a Lizardman by Regine Abel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Susan is a human living in farming colony Meterion and her future is uncertain as she is a third daughter and therefore has no fertile land in her dowry. Her choices are stark - become an indentured servant or settle for an arranged marriage through the Prime Mating Agency (PMA). She just never expected to be paired with a grumpy lizardman. The last thing Olix needs is a mate, especially a soft offworlder with an unhealthy obsession with farming. As a Hunter, he is not a dirt digger and so he is convinced that the Seer was wrong when she insisted that for the sake of his people he had to take a mate. Yet he finds Susan's softness surprisingly addictive. With ancestral lands on the line and the future of the clans threatened, could she turn their fate around?

I really enjoyed this story with the strong Susan making the best of her situation and showing the clans that automation meant they did not have to dig dirt just appreciate the fruits of their labours. She was a very astute businesswoman and incredibly clever in the way she did things. I loved the relationship between Olix and Susan and the way their tolerance and acceptance soon morphed into a strong love that would definitely set them up for long and happy life. Review: Tomas's Trials by Dale Mayer 5 of 5 stars

Tomas's Trials (SEALs of Honor World / Heroes for Hire Book 26)

Tomas's Trials by Dale Mayer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ex SEAL Tomas is excited to be going to work for Levi so that he can use his existing skills in new ways. His first assignment is to go undercover in a supremacy group that have lots of weapons although what he finds when he is there is far more complicated. Amber joined the group to rescue her friend Annette but finds out that she is dead, no one will talk about it and there is a coup happening. She doesn't want to leave without answers and so she contacts an old friend for help - when Tomas arrives he is not what she expected. It doesn't take long for them both to realise that the danger is escalating to the point that they might not be able to leave alive.

I really enjoyed this story with the glimpse into the workings of a supremacy group with the comparison between them and what was essentially a cult. There was a lot of fear and violence associated with this group and I have to think of the parallel that there were too many so-called rules that it was getting similar to life outside with all the rules that people have to follow. I loved the way that Tomas did everything he could to protect Amber and that he was comfortable playing the doting fiance so that they were not suspicious of either of them (plus it got her a break). Easy to read and understand I was addicted to this story and found myself reading fast and faster as I needed to know what was going to happen next. Contains some explicit sexual content at the end.

Review: Tempted by the Traitor Prince by Elin Wyn 5 of 5 stars

Tempted by the Traitor Prince (Rakian Warrior Mates, #7)

Tempted by the Traitor Prince by Elin Wyn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rakian Warrior Vokal has done terrible things and most recently has been drying out from drug addiction. But when human Nettie pulls him sway from his attempt at a new life he is powerless to say no to her smile. So he is dragged back into the struggle between the Empire and the Alliance but he is determined to keep her safe because she is his mate. Nettie knows better than to trust a man but she is pulled into the path of the dragon prince and discovers she is nothing like she was told as with her he is different - he is very protective, careful and she feels completely safe. The question is can she let him into her heart?

I loved this story. Vokal was very strong and protective trying his best to keep her safe and slowly falling more and more under her spell the more they were together. Nettie was feisty and made sure that he was not too protective of her by convincing him otherwise or occasionally ignoring him. I loved their relationship which really was adoration of each other even if they were not willing to see it quite that way to start with. I loved the dramatic ending and the fact that they had dreamed of some of what happened. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content. Sad that the series is over but it was a great ending.

Experiment dRo9Or: A SciFi Alien Romance (Red Planet Dragons of Tajss Book 24)

Experiment dRo9Or: A SciFi Alien Romance by Miranda Martin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Harper is convinced that love is for suckers and that a hookup is all you need to get everything out of your system so you can move on. When she is asked to try and help damaged Zmaj Drogor she feels compelled to help because failure means he will be put back into stasis. The more she is around him she starts to wonder if she is wrong and could true love be real? Drogor dreams of freedom and as soon as Harper walks into his cell and smells her he knows she is his. They belong together and he remembers her but she doesn't recognise him - whilst he knows his body was experimented on and he has been adapted he starts to wonder if his soul is too damaged for her to recognise? His talk of love is rejected by her - now he needs to prove to her in any way he can that they belong together and she is his.

I loved this story with the feisty Harper and her determination that love didn't exist and the equally determined Drogor who knew that belonged together and he just needed to do something to prove it to her. It was great to see how desperate he was and that he took such drastic action to show her that they belonged together. I enjoyed the reincarnation angle and the fact that their souls could recognise each other if they were open to it. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

In this short story, the bounty hunter babes are ready to celebrate Christmas but they are also returning to the sand planet their mates are from. Having landed back there and most of them being pregnant, they could be in for a little bit more than holiday cheer in this story.

I enjoyed this story which was a nice addition to the Barbarians of the Sand Planet series and cannot be read stand-alone. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Clay is a warlock so has limited powers and as they are treated as lesser beings he spends his life scraping enough money to eat by doing magic tricks to make people smile and running from attacks. For comfort, he has his cat Fizz and some Kylie Minogue tapes. When he accidentally summons the hidden arcana magic (even witches can't do that) his world is turned upside down. Tae Frost is a handsome, brooding and mysterious billionaire vampire. He offers to change Clay's life for the better if he moves into his penthouse and helps him to hunt demons. He has a big decision to make as it seems too good to be true but can he turn it down? There is a creepy button-eyed demon spilling blood across London and he appears to be both uncatchable and unhinged. With this new arcana power, Clay is the only one who can stop him.

I loved this book. Clay was just so normal and human with his basic existence on the outskirts of society as he scraped a living using his limited magic to bring joy to others. I loved his relationship with his cat and his attachment to Kylie Minogue (so maybe you could listen to her music while you read this book?). Tae was a really nice guy and his backstory was tragic and that made some of what he did a little bizarre. This was very well written with great descriptions of the places and people involved (the places were relatively accurate within the setting of the story too). This was easy to read and understand. I'm definitely hooked and there is no doubt that I will be reading the next book in this series. Contains some sexual content.

Review: Hanna and the Hitman by Honey Phillips 4 of 5 stars

Hanna and the Hitman (Alien Abduction, #8)

Hanna and the Hitman by Honey Phillips
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hanna had been abducted from Earth and then treated as if she were some kind of performing animal. Her latest home is to be on display in a cage outside of a seedy bar. When the massive alien warrior stops to see her she imagines the worst. To her shock, the warrior frees her but alone and scared she turns to him as her only refuge. Aidon is a hitman who eliminated galactic scum but he is running out of time and needs to return to his planet immediately. Certainly, acquiring Hanna was not in his plans but now he has her can he let her go especially when his home planet is so very dangerous?

I enjoyed this story with the jeopardy of his need to return home, the dangerous flora and fauna there as well as ancient misunderstandings that needed to be resolved. I thought that she was exactly what and who he needed he just needed to have a clear head and do the right thing. I loved some of the drama and danger as well as a few of the friendships that were formed in dangerous circumstances. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: His Human Stalker by Michele Mills 3 of 5 stars

His Human Stalker (Monsters Love Curvy Girls #6)

His Human Stalker by Michele Mills
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Private investigator Amelia is on assignment spying on the Hyrrokin biologist Sir Bane Ashmoor. However, spying on him has now become much more of a job to her and she is already imagining their children and so it seems to have moved from work to stalking! He just looks so attractive as he spends hours in the wildlands charting the migration of the fire-beasts. Then when she has to leave she trips and breaks her ankle only for Bane to find her ugly crying in the dirt. He picks her up and carries her to his tent - it's like a dream come true especially when it becomes apparent that he really likes her - but what happens when he discovers that he has taken his stalker home?

I enjoyed this story with its secret of Amelia's identity and purpose for being there mixed in with who her secret client was. I loved the way that Bane was very honest about his attraction to her but was also incredibly honourable with his treatment of her so as to not take advantage. Easy to read and easy to understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Gage's Goal by Dale Mayer 4 of 5 stars

Gage's Goal (Terkel's Team Book 3)

Gage's Goal by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Gage hadn't told the team that he was going to meet up with Lorelei after they were disbanded as they wanted to see if the sparks between them over the last few years were real. Lorelei was in Manchester hoping to run into Gage but a car accident sent her to hospital with an injured leg and when Terk contacted her she discovered what had happened to the others and realised it was no accident and was probably related to the attempt to totally wipe out his entire team. Gage convinces her to live in their temporary headquarters where she discovers that Gage hadn't contacted her because he couldn't. Now Gage is on the mend he is determined to keep her safe but that is not easy because the attacks on her continue to keep coming.

I enjoyed this story which had lots of drama and danger towards the team but in particular Lorelei who had a baptism of fire in their special abilities. I love the way that Gage was able to keep her alive and the way that there had to be a connection path between them first. This was easy to read and become caught up in the story so you needed to find out what will happen next. Contains a little sexual content.

Review: Claws, Class, and A Whole Lotta Sass by Julia Mills 3 of 5 stars

Claws, Class, and A Whole Lotta Sass (Dragon Guard Book 22)

Claws, Class, and A Whole Lotta Sass by Julia Mills
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Dani had been orphaned and alone and so she sought refuge with the extended family that she had left - a pack of wolf shifters who provided perfect cover for her too. Then dragon guard Wolfe was sent to help in a treaty between packs and nothing was the same again for either of them. Fate will not be denied but can he get past his own doubts and can she drop her very sassy attitude and give him a chance? They need to work together to banish evil and trust that their inner dragons know best and finally spread their wings and fly.

I enjoyed this story with the danger and drama that they both needed to work together with to beat. I did find her sassy attitude a bit much and feel that it should have been dialled down in order to make her a bit more likeable - as it was I had really started to dislike her. I loved the dangerous side of things as well as some of the drama involved. The family bond between Dani and her pack alpha (brother) was lovely to read. Contains explicit sexual content.

Review: Trent by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars

Trent (Alpha Geek, #9)

Trent by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bear shifter Lana Parr is new to working in security and it thrilled to get her job with the shifter protection agency and be assigned her first client. However, when he opens the door to her she is overcome with the attraction she has to the geek - he is actually her mate. Her immediate worry is how can she protect someone when all she wants to do is remove their clothes? IT guru Trent King has uncovered a lot of underhand dealings implicating a government official. He is assigned a brave and beautiful agent who just makes him forget that she is actually there to do a job when all he can do is think lusty thoughts about her. When everything goes badly everything changes for Trent because he had signed to allow the shifter agency to use their secret serum on him that will irreversibly change him. Things become a lot different for the geek who didn't think he could get the girl when he now feels worthy of her and wants to be the one doing the protecting.

I enjoyed this story which had an unlimited supply of bad guys trying their best to kill Trent and Lana was doing everything she could to keep him alive. I loved the way that the story ended and that they had a future together both doing what they loved. There was a lot of danger and drama in this story and it was easy to feel her determination to keep him alive. Easy to read and understand. A HEA and some explicit sexual content.

Review: An Untamed Lynx by Renee Hewett 3 of 5 stars

An Untamed Lynx

An Untamed Lynx by Renee Hewett
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Bear shifter Coleman Stride works as a guard for the Idlewyld mob boss and is very annoyed at his latest task as he is clearly not a babysitter. However, he soon realises that he actually has a lot in common with the bobcat kitten placed into his care and protection as they both lost their family to violence. With a renewed determination he resolves to teach him how to survive and defend himself. Lynx shifter and pediatric nurser Kat Baltrez has been focused on work and a career and has therefore not actually taken any holiday for years. So when Gerri Wilder asks her to help a child in need she feels she can't refuse which also fits in which her HR department's intention to force her to take some leave. Can Coleman and Kat work together in order to keep the scared bobcat kitten safe in a secluded cabin and can they cope with the fact that their time together might bring them together too?

This was a pleasant story that focused on the two aspects - the bobcat kitten and the relationship between Coleman and Kat. I enjoyed the way that they did their best to teach some control and bring some joy to the kitten and the way that they were able to find a way to compromise and work together. The jeopardy of the bad guys still wanting to kill the kitten was a nice factor to give them some danger. Easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.
