Rakian Warrior Vokal has done terrible things and most recently has been drying out from drug addiction. But when human Nettie pulls him sway from his attempt at a new life he is powerless to say no to her smile. So he is dragged back into the struggle between the Empire and the Alliance but he is determined to keep her safe because she is his mate. Nettie knows better than to trust a man but she is pulled into the path of the dragon prince and discovers she is nothing like she was told as with her he is different - he is very protective, careful and she feels completely safe. The question is can she let him into her heart?
I loved this story. Vokal was very strong and protective trying his best to keep her safe and slowly falling more and more under her spell the more they were together. Nettie was feisty and made sure that he was not too protective of her by convincing him otherwise or occasionally ignoring him. I loved their relationship which really was adoration of each other even if they were not willing to see it quite that way to start with. I loved the dramatic ending and the fact that they had dreamed of some of what happened. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content. Sad that the series is over but it was a great ending.
