Calum had made a decision to keep his family safe by being on his own while working but when his wife and son are kidnapped and dumped into his own secret headquarters he knows that whatever safeguards he was using were just not enough. His wife Mariana didn't like his decision in the first place but finally understood why he had done it after they were kidnapped and she finally saw the dangerous levels of his work. But having him back again and having a whole family she is no longer willing to let him go believing they are safer at his side. Calum knows that both he and the other team members are injured and struggling with their abilities and although his family comes first he also needs to be there for the team and until they all solve this situation no one is safe.
I enjoyed this next instalment in the series which both added to the back story of one of the team members but also a little more about who is doing all of this to them all. I loved the spirit of Mariana and her determination to stop being shoved somewhere in hiding while also being absolutely determined to protect her son. Also loved the examples of psychic skills from both her and their son which I hope can be explored in later books in the series. Easy to read, feel and understand it was good to have such a level of involvement of the team in the story so that it wasn't completely around Calum.
