Derek Lion has been tormented for the last two years by younger employee Bethany Colombo who he hired to work for Pride Security as the executive assistant to keep everything running smoothly. There is no doubt she is reliable and very hardworking, however, she is also sweet-smelling, amazing assed, too young for him. Every morning as she bounces through the door he both hates himself and craves her, but she is so good at her job that he just doesn't want to screw that up. From Bethany, her attraction to Derek has only grown over time, but a part of that attraction is that he respects her as a person but that means he will never act on his feelings towards her. As they work together to find a jewelled mask she is determined to prove to him that they are the perfect team both inside and outside the office. while getting him to act on his feelings.
I enjoyed this story with the mystery of the jewelled mask, the relationship between Drek and Bethany, the interactions between them and the other members of the company and the attempts to move forward on the situation. I loved the way the story ended and the conclusion of the mystery as well as their relationship. It was easy to read, become invested in the story and understand their motivations. Contains sexual content.
