My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Carson was pleased to be allocated a job by Levi until he hears the details - an elderly friend of Ice's called Aida believes someone is trying to kill her but there is no proof, no suspects, no motives, the police believe she is lying and no one else lives there by the old lady and her artist granddaughter. Eva does not want Carson in the house - nothing personal but she is an artist and needs her space, freedom and more importantly her privacy. He is also a distraction who could become her muse which is dangerous. But if he saves her grandmother then she will do everything to keep her safe even if it means putting up with Carson.
I loved this story which was not in the same style as the others as it was more subtle and much harder for Carson to work out what is happening. I loved the way that Eva was carefully covering up her work which meant that Carson had no idea what she had been doing right up until she did not have the time to do so. I loved the way that he was able to work through things but even then had no real idea of who it was. I loved Aida who we all would love to have as our family (even without the money). Easy to read, feel and understand. Contains very little sexual content as it was at the end.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
