Aiden is a doctor who is the best in his field and the reason that Lily chose to come there as an intern. They both work in the Shifter Medical Centre which is famous for treating all kinds of shifters for broken bones, deadly diseases and shattered hearts. When a human is accidentally taken there with a magical ailment Lily will ignore protocol and treat him before he dies. Aiden has not spoken to her yet but that is certain to end as she has now got him into trouble and they will have to do night shifts together as a punishment. Aiden is very cool in any situation and has the steady hands we all want our doctors to have, and she really only went there to learn from him, but sometimes she catches herself when their hands accidentally touch and her skin tingles to want to feel much more from him - something that is forbidden as he is her boss. Should she resist or do something stupid? Can this doctor tend to her every need?
I enjoyed this nice book with the tale of the bigotry and prejudice that existed between shifters and humans. That definitely provides a nice parallel to many instances in today's world. The lust between Aiden and Lily was off the charts and they certainly had to give in to it before they lost their minds. I was thrilled when they realised that life apart was no life at all and that they belonged together. Written well which meant it was easy to read and understand. Contains a little mature content.
