Review: Defending Yvette by P.J. Fiala 4 of 5 stars

Defending Yvette (GHOST, #4)

Defending Yvette by P.J. Fiala
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Yvette Jacobson discovered something she shouldn't know and needs to find a safe place like yesterday because she is not going to live to tell the tale if she doesn't. So she calls her high school friend (and GHOST team member) Jax Sager who promises her protection as long as she can stay alive in order to get there. GHOST team member Wyatt Lawson enjoys his life with a roof over his head and friends/colleagues who are just like family to him. When Jax asks him to meet Yvette at the airport life for him gets exceedingly more complicated. Saving Yvette is mission one, teaching her self defence is mission two and keeping her from stealing his heart is mission three and the hardest one of all!

I really enjoyed this story with the reticent Wyatt who was very honourable and determined to keep Yvette safe while fighting the draw between them both. The whole plot that Ynette discovered and the breadth and depth of it were fascinating and made it a real ride as it all become more obvious and the extent of the level that it went to was finally understood. Thank goodness for GHOST and all the tools and allies that they had to help to sort it out. It was great to understand a little more about the other team members too. Easy to read and understand, I was swept away into the story and was totally invested in getting a good result by the end of the book. Contains a little content for mature readers only.
