Review: Who We Truly Are by Victoria Sue 4 of 5 stars

Who We Truly Are (Enhanced World #2)

Who We Truly Are by Victoria Sue
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Talon's abilities are becoming hard to control and he is struggling to protect the man he loves with all his heart and not become the greatest risk to Finn’s life. Finn has no choice but to offer himself as bait for the people kidnapping enhanced children, facing danger he is untrained and unprepared for, and he will have to do it alone. Does Talon have one last fight in him? Will he slay everyone who wants to destroy Finn and the team, or will he finally discover that to defeat their enemy and the ultimate threat, the biggest battle he has to face is one with himself?

This was a very dramatic story as Talon and Finn had arguments about Finn's determination to help even though he was normal and untrained and The development of Talon's enhanced skills. Finn was very clever and was able to get himself close to the kids involved and the conclusion to this story was just drama++. I loved the way that Finn decided to behave if he was going to die and how that saved them. This was easy to read, feel and understand as I read faster and faster to find out what was happening. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Five Minutes Longer by Victoria Sue 5 of 5 stars

Five Minutes Longer (Enhanced World #1)

Five Minutes Longer by Victoria Sue
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Talon thought his life ended the day he transformed into an enhanced human and became reviled, mistrusted and often locked away. He knew partnering with a regular human in their experimental FBI unit was a dangerous mistake likely to cost them their lives. Finn Meyer was an undiagnosed dyslexic which stopped his dream of joining the FBI before it had even begun but then he was given a chance to partner an enhanced human with lethal abilities who wanted him to fail. Finn had to fight his whole life and was determined to not fail now although the biggest battle was with his heart.

I loved this story of the situation that Finn was in before he was allowed to join the FBI. The enhanced team members were described well and they all felt real to me. I loved the way that Finn was so clever he just had issues reading but he was like a sponge absorbing knowledge and information. The relationship between Talon and Finn started with passion and just stayed passionate all the way through. Even when they had a disagreement it was passionate. Finn certainly became one of the team and proved himself to the team time and time again. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: His First Noel by Victoria Sue 4 of 5 stars

His First Noel (His First #4)

His First Noel by Victoria Sue
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Alpha Obsetritian Daniel Brennan never recovered after his younger brother's suicide and has always vowed he will never mate an omega because of it and at forty-seven he accepts he is probably too old for a family and so throws himself into his career. Remy thought his life had ended the day he was classified as an omega and between the bullying and loneliness he thinks he is not pretty or clever enough to attract an alpha. The only bright light on his horizon is his new job at the omega clinic. A lonely omega and an alpha who doesn’t realise how much he wants his own family is forced together when the unthinkable happens, and Remy - who doesn’t even know he is pregnant -goes into labour. Delivering Remy’s baby might be easy for Daniel. Delivering a Christmas miracle might be something else altogether.

Wow - prepare for tears during this story as it will pull at your heartstrings. Poor Remy, who had serious self-esteem issues, had a really bad set of circumstances thrown at him but then later in the story, he realised that he had worth and didn't have to settle for second best. Daniel was quite clueless and I was so glad that his peers and colleagues were able to give him some home truths. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with mpreg.

Review: His First Kiss by Victoria Sue 4 of 5 stars

His First Kiss (His First #3)

His First Kiss by Victoria Sue
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Omega Shay Nicholls lost everything including three babies before they were born. His alpha has abandoned him as a failure and when he had no hope of a future he can't even take the last step and end it all. Alpha lawyer Nick Carmichael has been trapped in a job he hates for too long. When he finds the broken and desperate omega he feels that life has given him a chance to be the mate he wants and eagerly steps up to care for the terrified man. Shay doesn’t trust alphas, even ones with gentle hands and a kind smile, but when tragedy strikes and Nick gets hurt, Shay realizes he’s been very wrong. Unfortunately, it might just be too late.

I enjoyed this story which was able to make me feel all of the emotions that Shay and Nick were going through in this rollercoaster of a story. I felt desperately sorry for Shay although at times he became quite annoying in his refusal to accept that Nick was trying to help him. Shay's old alpha was a nasty piece of work which was proven later in the story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with mpreg.

Review: Something Unforgettable by Rory Maxwell 4 of 5 stars

Something Unforgettable (Split Rock Ranch #4)

Something Unforgettable by Rory Maxwell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Finn likes working at his grandfather’s feed and general store because people aren’t as intimidating when he’s behind the counter whereas outside Finn is uncomfortably shy. He is likely to stay a single mess forever. Older man Xavier started to show an interest but he was so far out of Finn's league. Xavier DeCain came to Split Rock to help out a friend and didn't plan to keep coming back let alone Finn, whose pretty blushes were irresistible. But Xavier has specific tastes - not to mention an intense desire to be in charge. He isn’t sure innocent young Finn will be able to handle it. Their mutual attraction is too strong to ignore, but for a relationship to work, they’ll both need to fight their demons. Finn will have to trust Xavier to be careful with his wounded heart, and Xavier will have to reexamine the things he finds most important.

I enjoyed this story of love and passion between shy Finn and confident Xavier. Xavier was a typical Daddy who wanted to care for Finn and take away all of his hurts. I loved how genuine Finn was in Hollywood and how he made a good friend out of an A-listed actor. The filling in of Finn's childhood was great for understanding him. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: His First Family by Victoria Sue 3 of 5 stars

His First Family (His First, #2)

His First Family by Victoria Sue
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Omega Lorne Austen was mated to an alpha with a standard contract at a young age and so on the very day his alpha’s youngest children were fifteen he was told to pack his bags and leave the only real home he had ever known. Heartbroken and stranded in a snowstorm he takes shelter. Alpha Doctor Jonathan Owens has personal reasons for never wanting to mate with an omega, but all his good intentions are tested to the limit when he meets Lorne. After spending the night together he is devastated to find Lorne has vanished without a trace the next morning. Lorne discovers he is pregnant but the law says unmated omegas cannot keep the babies they give birth to. Realising something is badly wrong with the pregnancy he goes to the clinic and comes face to face with Jonathan again. All Lorne has wanted is a family he won’t lose. Jonathan has spent years making sure he never needed one. Faced with the real danger that the babies won’t even survive long enough to be born, can these two find love and the strength they need in each other or will their differences always pull them apart?

I enjoyed this story with more of a look at how society worked (which was very unfair to omegas) and that good alphas were out there trying to change things. I loved the children from Lorne's original alpha and their proposals to protect Lorne. Some of this book highlighted the importance of communication. Easy to read, feel and understand. his was an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse with mpreg,

Review: The King's Boy by Aja Foxx 4 of 5 stars

The King's Boy (Mafia Mayhem #3)

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

King was sent to take over as leader of the Irish mob in New York City. He wasn't keen on the position until he met Spencer but first, he needed to figure out if Spencer was as crazy as he seemed or if he was a spy sent by my enemies. Spencer is bat-shit crazy but being normal is crazy. Stepping outside the lines meant meeting the handsome Irish mafia boss, and he was fun to mess with. It's just too bad it put him on someone else's radar. Now, he was running for his life.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who were drawn to each other even though one lived a dangerous life while the other was flamboyant. I enjoyed their relationship and how their passion could be explosive. The danger and drama was very real and very personal. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Clausing a Scene by Casey Cox 4 of 5 stars

Clausing a Scene (Christmas Falls #6)

Clausing a Scene by Casey Cox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Actor Brant is seen as a PR nightmare but has come to Christmas Falls to film a cheesy holiday rom-com while staying with the head of the company producing the film Hig Langdon who just happens to be his best friend Col's dad. The three of them intend to celebrate the holidays together there too. Brant has always had a crush on sexy Hig. Can he get Hig to see him as an adult and not his son's best friend?

This was a cheesy story worthy of a Hallmark film. I did enjoy some of the adult conversations around Col's late mother and Brant's mother's interference in his life. Hig and Brant's relationship seemed to revolve around their lust for each other. East to read and understand this was an MM story with mature content.

Review: His First Christmas by Victoria Sue 3 of 5 stars

His First Christmas (His First, #1)

His First Christmas by Victoria Sue
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Pregnant omega Bo Rawlings is on the run from an abusive alpha and is in labour trying to drive his car to the omega clinic but his old car has other ideas. Alpha veterinarian Gabe Johnson comes across Bo and his protective instincts kick in he gets Bo in his car and back to his home trying to save their lives. He gets them to the clinic and soon realises all he wants is to take the little family home and claim them for his own. Bo has never had the Christmas he’s always wanted. Gabe gave up on the holidays a long time ago. But just as they both think that it’s their turn to experience the season of miracles, Bo’s old alpha finds them, and unless Gabe can manage the impossible, all their Christmas dreams will melt like snow.

A sweet story which was a little light on the abuse Bo suffered but we got the general idea. I loved that Gabe was sure he wanted Bo and the baby and that he was a little clueless at times but fixed it. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

Review: The List by B.L. Maxwell 4 of 5 stars

The List (Better Together Universe)

The List by B.L. Maxwell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tommy Carter was taking out the rubbish from his job at a local bar and grill when he noticed the man hiding behind the dumpster. He lived through his difficult circumstances in the past so if he can help he will. Tommy doesn’t have a lot, but he has a heart of gold that won’t let him walk away from someone he knows needs a hand up. Zane Martin was left wandering the streets of Sacramento in a haze after tragedy struck. He’s afraid to trust anyone and suffering from a lack of food and adequate clothing to keep him alive and well against the weather about to hit the area. He’s not sure he can trust Tommy, but he wants to. There has to be one good person out there, and maybe he’s just found him. A story of helping when you can, and accepting help when it’s offered.

This was such an inspirational story of big-hearted Tommy who was determined to help Zane and all the friends and acquaintances who helped. I loved the tender way that Tommy cared for Zane and that he never gave up on him. I loved the way that the other people in the Better Together universe were involved. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story.

Daddy's Christmas Wish (Unexpected Daddies #4)

Daddy's Christmas Wish by Victoria Sue
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kayde was a Little who wanted a Daddy to care for him and sit him on his lap to read him bedtime stories. Master Julian was a Dom who was a Sadist. Surely they were not compatible but Christmas had a different idea they just needed to communicate.

This was such a sweet story with Julian craving someone to care for and Kayde being the perfect boy for him. There were a lot of discussions of needs, preferences and feelings in this story. I loved the Christmas angle which was not too obtrusive to the general story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: The First Twelve by B.L. Maxwell 4 of 5 stars

The First Twelve (Better Together, #3)

The First Twelve by B.L. Maxwell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rio and Caden met when they were teenagers and life was harsh but together their determination and love enabled them to raise Rio's brother and sister and make a family for themselves. Caden's sister made them an amazing offer to be their surrogate so they could have a child of their own. They need to navigate nine months of pregnancy hormones, morning sickness, and mood swings everything will be easy. Until one little newborn arrives and keeps them busier than they ever imagined possible. Nine months seemed tough, but the first twelve will be even more challenging. Just like every other challenge they’ve faced, they’ll do it together, and they’ll do it with love.

I loved seeing Rio and Caden being so happy even though it was very hard work which was something they have never been afraid of. I loved the ending and just know they will handle everything like the great team that they are. Lots of emotions in this story so be prepared for a few tears. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Bad Daddy by Victoria Sue 4 of 5 stars

Bad Daddy

Bad Daddy by Victoria Sue
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Caleb DeLuca knew that tattooed, scarred ex-cons didn't usually get trusted with anything precious. He was shocked to get invited to the BDSM club his brother-in-law owned. Max was too young, too beautiful, and too fragile for Caleb to get any idea they could ever be more than friends. Besides this, Max was searching for a Dom who would inflict the pain he craved, and Caleb was done with hurting people. Bad Daddy is the story of a man who doesn't believe he deserves anything good and a boy who finds out that sometimes the best things come in the most unexpected packages.

I loved this story and the struggles that they both had as to others' perceptions of themselves and what they wanted out of a relationship. They always respected each other as well as did their best to be kind. I loved that Caleb gave Max the strength to achieve what he wanted and needed but also Max was a fierce strength behind Caleb when it was needed. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like Daddy/boy dynamic.

His Alpha Prince

His Alpha Prince by Kota Quinn
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Omega Astra is somewhere where he has no rights - his alternatives are to be auctioned off to the highest bidder or be a prized Jewel Omega. With his best friend in an arranged marriage on their last night of freedom, they attend the night parade. When there Astra meets a demon Alpha who sets his soul on fire. Prince of the Fourth Kingdom of the Demon Realm, Maven is bored, so his friend convinces him to attend a series of parties where alphas can court the omegas looking for a mate. Before the first ball, Maven attends a Christmas celebration where he meets his fated mate. Not wanting to frighten the little omega, Maven uses a spell to appear human. He plans to win Astra’s heart before showing him his demon appearance. But Astra is the most sought-after this season.

This was a sweet, fated mate story set in a paranormal version of the omegaverse. I liked the connected history and the way that their connection did not progress as expected. There were moments of humour around Astra meeting Maven's brothers. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and an Alpha/omega relationship set in the omegaverse.

A Daddy for Christmas (Unexpected Daddies #2)

A Daddy for Christmas by Victoria Sue
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Daddy Dom Jacob Morrison lost his boy and husband to cancer two years ago and has closed himself off refusing to open his heart up to that pain level again. Lucas Dryden spent the last seven years nursing his dying mother and is now facing a Christmas without any family. He is also not completely sure that he needs a Daddy. After agreeing on a trial for a month will that be enough time to see if two lonely men finally get the Christmas and the happy ever after they both need or will they discover that getting what they want for Christmas is easy? Keeping it for longer might be impossible.

This was a sweet story of two men who had suffered a profound loss in their lives and had the support and space to grieve while also starting to build something for the future. I liked that both men were happy to keep the other's loss central to their relationship to not minimise them in their lives. Sensitive coverage of loss and grief as well as second chances at love. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

One Cup of Daddy and a Dash of Love (Unexpected Daddies, #1)

One Cup of Daddy and a Dash of Love by Victoria Sue
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Forty-seven-year-old Jensen Carmichael thought he would never meet a man who wanted the sort of relationship he craved then he met Dashael. Dash is homeless and convinced that being an adult is a cruel joke but is then overawed by the sexy older man who offers him everything he ever wanted like story time, bath time and playtime. Can this overworked businessman find that cuddling a sweet boy and keeping him safe is the best thing he has ever done and a scared boy discover that finding a Daddy and holding on tight might just be the best recipe for love ever written?

This was a sweet story of how Jensen and Dash saved each other in the discovery of each other and their Daddy/little relationship. I enjoyed the discovery of how bad Dash was and how to handle it whenever he had a panic attack. I did wonder just how bad things were in Dash's grandmother's business and whether the so-called manager had stolen from them. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: Cyrus by Eve Riley 4 of 5 stars

Cyrus (Smokejumpers, #2)

Cyrus by Eve Riley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Captain Damon Amaro was a legacy member because his family had four generations of firefighters. It was a legacy he’d rather he didn’t have, but familial obligations have always been his downfall. He was struggling that his older brother was on trial for multiple arson and murder charges. Damon turned to less-than-savoury extracurricular activities to help him cope. Even his best friend has no idea about the secrets he’s been hiding. Cyrus MacMillan changed his name to escape the shame of what his father did and is now the newest firefighter at Station Twenty-One. He joined the fire service to right the wrongs of his father - he hopes that all stays buried. Trust is hard for Cyrus and even though he and Dmien connect on a level beyond his wildest dreams he knows it won't last long - especially when his past is suddenly made public. Damon believes that the sins of the father should not be cast on the son and so he supports Cy even though it means that they have to hide their relationship for now. Both men have baggage they have to overcome, but in the end, they believe they are better together. Can Damon and Cy have a future together, or will continuing their relationship have repercussions neither of them can live with?

I enjoyed this story with the two men with the secrets and their pasts but an undeniable passion that is hot enough to burn down the city. I liked the focus on emotions and feelings in his story because they were both hurt due to historic events either from their upbringing, recent events or both. I was pleased when they found ways to be together and work through the problems in a way to help them. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Langdon by Dale Mayer 5 of 5 stars

Langdon (Terk's Guardians Book 4)

Langdon by Dale Mayer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Langdon has some special energy skills, but even so, he hasn't been in a good place for some time, culminating in him chasing away Molly - the woman he has loved forever. Then he realises that she has been kidnapped and so he needs to find her and work out who took her. Molly would do anything for Langdon but being used as leverage to force him to do something was never part of her plan. Escaping would be nice but it is out of the range of her special energy skills - something she needs to hide from her captors. Can she open the psychic door she slammed shut to Langdon to let him know before he is forced to do something?

I enjoyed his story with the stubborn Langdon who was too busy having a pity party to work with the one person who understood him only to find her kidnapped. Molly was a force to be reckoned with and I loved the way that she was able to use her own set of skills to create a little mischief for her captors without giving anything away. Great descriptions of Langdon's and Molly's thoughts and emotions in the story. Easy to read and understand.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Chains Required (Better Together, #2)

Chains Required by B.L. Maxwell
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Rio and Caden have been together for a few years and on a rare weekend that they can spend alone they go to Tahoe a few weeks before Christmas. They thought they had planned for every emergency but they can't control Mother Nature. When the car in front of them spins out on newly fallen snow they stop and help and discover that Caden is not as alone in the world as he thought he was. A few planned surprises make for a weekend it special for the hard-working guys.

This was a sweet short story and I loved the link to Caden's past and how wonderful that was for him. It really was a special weekend and it was wonderful to see how close a family unit they all were. Easy to read and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Better Together (Better Together, #1)

Better Together by B.L. Maxwell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Caden was thrown out of his home and dropped off somewhere far away by his parents for being gay and now lives on the streets. He found an unlocked car and decided to fall asleep in it only to be interrupted by Rio stealing the car. Riding along Caden soon discovers that first impressions sometimes don't count after he is taken home and given food and a shower. Seventeen Damario has been raising his little brother and younger sister since their parents were deported. He never knew until then how hard it would be to pay bills and make sure they were all fed until he had to hold the family together on his own. He never expected or wanted to steal cars but the money is very useful. He could never have realised that saving Caden was saving himself too. When Damario’s world starts to fall apart, they both realize that the answer to all of their problems is helping each other and although the world tries to drive them apart, they are better together.

I loved this story with the way that both young men did everything that they could to care for the children and protect them I loved how Caden used the internet to understand how couponing worked as well as how to cook certain things. Their love story was a gentle one to start with but very passionate at the end. I loved their devotion to the kids and each other. Easy to read, feel and understand. Review: Hawke by Eve Riley 5 of 5 stars

Hawke (Smokejumpers, #1)

Hawke by Eve Riley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Firefighter Hawke Colton loves his job and hanging out with his friends. However, he wants more in life like a husband, kids, a house and a dog. Fire Investigator Tristan Cole lost his parents in a fire started by an arsonist twenty-one years ago. He has dedicated his life since then to putting arsonists away and so when a family is killed in a suspicious fire he can see that it is the same signature as the arsonist that killed his family. He asks Hawke for help to comb through old files with him to help prove it is the same arsonist. When the arsonist sets his sights on Tristan, can Hawke find a way to keep his new love safe?

I enjoyed this story with the link of the fire when Hawke was a child and the ones later on, the sick satisfaction the arsonist got from them and the growing relationship between the two men. It was good to pick up some details on how their jobs worked and how they were able to fit everything around them. The mystery of the identity of the arsonist and the way it was carried over such a long time was interesting and I loved the link back to the Federal Protection Agency for the investigation. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Jack Frosting (Snow Dates Book 2)

Jack Frosting by Finn Dixon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Bisexual Clayton's wife after being caught with another man left but also left their son and had signed away all her rights. Soon afterwards he lost his job. Looking to keep paying the mortgage he rented out the room in the basement to Jack he knew he was in trouble especially after he kept walking around with no shirt on. Jack realised that he had been blown by Clacton one night in a club but was not offended that he didn't remember as he was drunk at the time. One night Jack found that behind a usually locked basement door, there was a BDSM playroom so he determined to show Clayton a good time in there.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who had an undeniable pull between them that just couldn't be denied. Their creative use of the equipment and the efforts to hide around Clacton's son were quite amusing at times (made more funny when it became clear they had not fooled him at all). I enjoyed the interactions to the characters from the first book in the series. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Following a recommendation he was shocked to be introduced to Gareth who is great with his son and soon becomes his manny. Normally they both do not mix business with pleasure but make an exception in this case.

I enjoyed this story with the friendship between Gareth and Eli's son, their growing attraction and all of the kinky ways that they got together. Review: Sinner's Salvation by Bianca Borell 4 of 5 stars

Sinner's Salvation (Syndicate of Sinners, #4)

Sinner's Salvation by Bianca Borell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cameron McNamara is a member of the Syndicate and the current Mayor of Boston and although he doesn't want a wife, he agrees to an arranged marriage to gain political influence and power. When he meets her she is nothing like he imagined and they agree to be married on paper only and she will support him with his goal of becoming a Senator. Violet Campbell has many phobias and has lived in seclusion for years until her father disrupts her peace to insist she has to marry the Boston mayor for his own gain. She can't stand Cameron as he is too arrogant, cold and has no concept of personal space. But at least, they agreed on one thing: No touches. No kisses. No intimacy.
Behind closed doors, there’s no need to pretend their marriage is real. But every day, his wife surprises him. Cameron yearns to uncover the woman she hides behind the mask. Every night, her husband unravels her and Violet begins to crave more of her husband. What started as an agreement, is turning into something none of them saw coming.

I loved this story with the struggle for Violet to fight past her phobias, the way that Cameron tried in his way to help her, and the way over time their relationship was becoming less distant and more friendly (even if there was also an undercurrent of hate in there). Their passion was electric and all-consuming and I'm sure could have been seen from space. They did seem to have a communication problem when it came to feelings but I think that barrier was removed after a dramatic event. This was easy to read and the feelings (although not always comfortable) were easy to feel and understand. There is plenty of mature content in this story with some BDSM-like behaviours.

I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

Damien (Federal Protection Agency, #6)

Damien by Eve Riley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When younger Private Investigator Damien Anderson and his younger brother watched as the head of the local mafia killed with parents in cold blood. For fifteen years they have been in Witness Protection. Damien is a sweet and kind teddy bear but if anyone puts the people he loves at risk he has no problem becoming lethal. The brothers work for the PFA and find themselves at a crossroads when their past catches up to them so they have to decide - tell the men in the Agency the truth, or run once more and leave behind everyone they've come to think of as family? Max Morris is an ex-FBI agent and has a deadly skillset who has no issues delivering vigilante justice against any men who abuse children and get off on a technicality. He doesn’t regret a moment of it. Someone has to take the predators like his father off the street. Travis Manning is a social worker and the newest member of the FPA. He helps to find safe haven homes for children in need. The shy, secretive, non-social man suffers from low self-esteem, which isn’t helped when he always ends up dating men who are in the closet and keep him as their dirty secret. Travis always feels like he isn’t good enough until he’s caught between Max and Damien. Literally. When Travis’ abusive ex shows up in Baton Rouge and proves he's a risk to the sweet man they love, what lengths will Max and Damien go to to keep Travis safe forever?

This was a great story with three men who each had their demons and dangers but it was more Travis who had the nightmare coming at him determined to reclaim him to abuse far more. There was a great deal of emotional analysis for these men who had their challenges but together they worked well. Lots of danger and drama in their story but it was also easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MMM story with mature content.

Review: Noah by Eve Riley 4 of 5 stars

Noah (Federal Protection Agency, #5)

Noah by Eve Riley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Noah Riley is a Federal Prosecutor and has had enough of the justice system and its failures as he has repeatedly watched young victims let down as the men who abused them went free. He needs to change his life but has no idea how. Fire Captain William Clarke is firmly in the closet around his work as he keeps his private life very separate from it. Then he meets Noah and his beliefs are destroyed. Can these two men find the love that will change both their lives forever?

I enjoyed this story with the intense relationship between the two men which changed William's beliefs on coming out to his staff and colleagues just like it firmed Noah's next steps in his career. I was thrilled for them both when they finally had all the peace and tranquillity in their lives and the confidence to live openly as a committed couple. Lots of discussion on emotions and beliefs for both men and the correct outcomes. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Cooper by Eve Riley 4 of 5 stars

Cooper (Federal Protection Agency, #4)

Cooper by Eve Riley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cooper Jones grew up in foster care and only had friends who were black hat hackers at the community centre until he was eighteen and was caught by the government hacking into Homeland Security the Agent in charge was impressed by his skills and so saved him from a life of crame by giving him a job to hack for good instead and recently was added to the team by the Federal Protection Agency. Jonah West is a detective working in Baton Rouge and hatest it when criminals go free on a technicality. He works long hours which means that his twelve-year-old son Drew spends a lot of time playing games on his computer. When his house is broken into and his son is missing Jonah contacts the FPA for help getting him back. Can Coop and Jonah keep Drew safe while they track down the kidnappers, and will their growing closeness mean they have a future together?

I enjoyed this story with the way that the team worked so well together to get Drew back and the way that Coop was able to relate to Drew and help him understand what he had been doing and why it was wrong. I loved that he gave him a way of doing it safely and on the right side of the law. The closeness of the relationships between the two men and their closeness with Drew was touching and I enjoyed that this had so many real-life parallels. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: We Don't Need Another Santa by Bix Barrow 3 of 5 stars

We Don't Need Another Santa (Bent Oak, Texas #5)

We Don't Need Another Santa by Bix Barrow
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Retired Hitman Phillip was posing as a third-grade teacher to lie low when he discovered that Seth and Robin were being abused by their stepfather so he stayed around longer than he intended to keep them safe. On Christmas Eve he discovers that Robin had accidentally killed him while protecting Seth. So he felt he was the right person to dispose of his body. At the same time, Santa delivered the boys' uncle Lucas McCord who is a famous actor who is never out of the tabloids. Phillip needs to assess if he is trustworthy enough to care for the boys as he is recently out of rehab. An ill-timed photo in the press has them announcing that they are boyfriends and the key to repairing his reputation. Phillip's skills are perfect for navigating Hollywood and when he comes face-to-face with an old enemy he will use every weapon he has to protect them all.

This was a sweet story and I loved that both men were focused on the safety of the boys so anything between them was in some ways coincidental. There were some cute moments in the story as well as some funny moments and I found it a fun read. Easy to understand and pick up the feelings of the characters. This was an MM story with some mature content.

I received a free copy of this book from the MM Book Buzz's 12 Days of Xmas giveaway.

Please note this is a novella continuing the hitman’s story from What’s Santa Got to Do with It but can be read as a standalone.

Review: Ryzen by Eve Riley 4 of 5 stars

Ryzen (Federal Protection Agency, #3)

Ryzen by Eve Riley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When he was eighteen Ryzen was recruited into the CIA and is one of the best snipers in the world. He now works with the Federal Protection Agency to track down people who perpetrate crimes against children. Always hidden behind dark sunglasses he is a mystery to everyone. He remembers Knox when he had a psych evaluation and that the profiler report resulted in his discharge from the CIA so he is not impressed with the man and is disturbed by how he makes him feel. Knox Hunter is a profiler with the FBI and investigating a series of murders where the victims are all male aged between twelve and fourteen and have the same MO. The mayor is pushing for re-election and so the public has no idea that there is a serial killer out there. Knox is sent to the FPA to close the case quickly. Knox is an office man and this post could be dangerous for him as he is not experienced working in the field. Will Ry be able to keep Knox safe while they track down and put away this serial killer, or is he destined to be the biggest threat to Knox’s heart?

I loved the combination of the serial killer and solving that problem while at the same time, there was the mystery of Ry and Knox as they tried to solve the mystery of each other and why they were so drawn together. There were a lot of emotions in this story around both men and the serial killer and it was great to read something where you could feel why things happened in a certain way. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Rafe by Eve Riley 4 of 5 stars

Rafe (Federal Protection Agency, #2)

Rafe by Eve Riley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ex-SEAL, Special Agent Rafe Dallas spent years working for the DOJ after his medical discharge. Now, he's joined a special Task Force fighting crimes against children and after their first successful operation, he is determined to give everything he has to save as many children as he can. then he finds out about the tragic death of his Navy SEAL buddy, John, he promises to look after the man’s younger brother and do what he can to help find his daughter. Finley Quinn is working undercover at a human trafficking ring trying to find his niece. Eighteen months earlier she was set to join the SEALs and follow his older brother's footsteps but then his brother was killed and his six-year-old niece kidnapped. He has been looking for her ever since especially as the local police think she is dead but there isn't a body so he will not give up. When Rafe joins him undercover, Finley is reminded of the huge crush he had on the sexy older man. Will they save Finley’s niece before it’s too late? Will Rafe ever see Finley as more than his best friend’s kid brother?

This was a dramatic story as Finley tried to find his niece and then Rafe and the rest of the organisation joined him in his hunt for her. The background mention of the abuse of the children was heartbreaking but I was impressed with their determination to find out as much as they could as part of looking for her. Their relationship started with something just physical but there were already feelings there so they just needed time to work it all out. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content. Please take note of the content warning in the book description.

Review: Mason by Eve Riley 4 of 5 stars

Mason (Federal Protection Agency, #1)

Mason by Eve Riley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mason Wright works for Homeland Security focusing on crimes against children working with his K9 partner Koda. Apart from his brother Koda is the only family he has. He was recently diagnosed with PTSD he took some time off to go and visit his brother but it turned into more work instead as he was assigned the job of creating a task force to hunt down dirty cop Jasper Monroe for his crimes. Monroe leads them on a merry chase but as they head into Mexico, Mason has a plan to take the dirty cop down. Jarod Lopez is a new detective in the police force and is saddled with a homophobic partner so Jarod stays in the closet, keeps his head down and doesn't make waves while he tries to care for a drug addict mother and hides his father's past as a criminal. This gives him little chance to use his skills and results in a lonely life. When the chance to join a recently developed task force Jarod jumps at the chance. When the chance to join a recently developed task force drops in his lap, Jarod jumps at the opportunity. Paired up with Mason as his new partner, Jarod finds himself experiencing things he never thought possible. Will the pair find love while they chase down the bad guy and bring him to justice?

I enjoyed this story with the bullying of Jarod as the new guy, the crimes of Jasper Monroe and the meeting of Mason and Koda. I loved how their relationship started and developed as they spent more time together. The crimes that Monroe committed were not good and it was heartbreaking the effect they had on innocent children. I enjoyed the fact that the two men had each other to lean on and comfort each other. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content. Please take note of the content warning at the bottom of the book description.

Review: Sweet Elf by M.M. Farmer 3 of 5 stars

Sweet Elf (Omega Christmas Elves Book 5)

Sweet Elf by M.M. Farmer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Omega Tucker Mandal is working as an elf in the Barrington Christmas Market and has a medical condition which means he has not had a heat yet even though most people would have had one by now. That upsets him as he wants to become a papa but no heat means no children. Add to that he is still a virgin and he wonders if Micah would be interested in him if he knew the truth. Micah Lawson never thought that playing Santa would be so satisfying or inspire him to a new career let alone that his disappointed dad would be interested. He never would have imagined to find the adorable, sweet and clever omega Tucker who he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. He just needs to summon up the courage to ask him out so he can make him his.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who were struggling to ask each other out even though they were perfect for each other, Tucker's medical problem and the Christmas solution to it. I loved the way that when the outgoing mayor decided to throw a spanner in the works they were able to work together and with the help of others fix the problems. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content set in the Omegaverse.

Review: Luca's Unexpected Daddy by Sammi Cee 5 of 5 stars

Luca's Unexpected Daddy (Love on Tap 2: Pain & Healing #4)

Luca's Unexpected Daddy by Sammi Cee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Luca has waited on tables in the Tap Tavern for years and in the last six months he has had his relationship with his coworkers change from acquaintances to friends. After letting it slip that he is an unattached boy they are out to find him a Daddy for Christmas. But Harrison is the only unattached Daddy there and although he is rich and gorgeous he only plays and never commits. As holiday giving is in full swing Luca sees the heart that is behind Harrison's arrogance which leaves him confused - the sexy man in suits with a huge ego is not supposed to be fun and willing to get his hands dirty. Luca isn’t sure he buys into Christmas magic, but by the time this season is done, he may just believe that Harrison is the gift his heart needs.

I loved this story where Luca discovers that what you see on the surface is not what you get or see deep down if you only look and that there is a thin line between love and hate. There were times when I felt sorry for Harrison and the way that Luca was so down on him so I was thrilled when he saw Harrison for real and understood the man. A lovely look back at the Takoda world and with such a great Christmas message of giving and helping others. Easy to read, feel and understand this will make you smile. An MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like Daddy/boy relationship.

Jalen & Colby: An MMM Christmas Daddy Romance

Jalen & Colby: An MMM Christmas Daddy Romance by HJ Welch
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Andreas is selling some stuff online as part of clearing out a storage locker and finds that two guys are aggressively bidding on the same set of childhood toys. When he discovers that it is two best friends trying to buy the same thing for each other as a Christmas gift and as they all live in the same city he decides to hand deliver them for them both to share. He finds two adorable young men and as they spend time together it feels like it could be love between them. Jalen moved from California to Australia to be with Colby and even though he loves him he feels that he needs someone better than him to look after him and become his Daddy. Andreas appears like a Christmas miracle and with his wealth likes to spoil them both. He offers to take the boys on an amazing trip to the UK back to his home during the holidays, how can they refuse? And if they just happen to accidentally fall into bed together, would that be so terrible? Colby is grateful for the power of the internet to enable Jalen to be there for him when his own family turns their backs on him. Now they live together but he knows that Jalen sees him only as a friend as he is far too fabulous and bright for someone as shy and quiet as him. When they start to spend time with their new friend Andreas who is great with cuddles and spoiling them he starts to wonder if could three be a magic number?

I loved this story with the two best friends who loved each other and the man to came in and swept them away with gifts, family and fun. Even though the two boys had slightly different needs Andreas was a good enough Daddy to have enough love and care for them both. I loved that they were able to talk to each other, discuss their thoughts and emotions (eventually) and that they quickly became much more with the addition of a third person in their dynamic. Certainly, it helped that Andreas was wealthy in all of their fun and adventures. Easy to read, feel and understand. his was an MMM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic.

Catch up with the Fox, Autumn, Brody, Duke and Sunny in a holiday adventure filled with spankings, Little shenanigans, and lots of Christmas fun.

This was a cute little story as we had a special festive look at how life is for some of the MC Daddies characters at Christmas. I loved how the relationships have settled and matured and yet still have their own little glitches when communication is not right or if a Little is trying to "help". Knot & Order

Knot & Order by Zoe Kassel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lawyer David has a secret - he is an omega living in an alpha's world taking expensive black-market morones to suppress his head and cover up his scent so he appears as a beta. He needs to keep his secret so he is not bred by some alpha. All he wants is to make a partner and keep his secondary gender a secret. Alpha Michael knows that the world is unfair and he has all of the advantages so covers up his scent to avoid triggering an omega's heat and never goes after a male omega. He does his best to be good in a world where it’s too easy for an alpha to be bad. David and Michael have a shared case and the more time they spend together the more tempted they are o experience what they have up to now missed.

I enjoyed this story and the discussion of alpha and omega rights and the inequalities. I loved that Michael was doing everything he could to help omegas and level the playing field even though it prevented his happiness. I loved that they were mates but would never have known unless they had stopped using their suppressant. Nice discussions around thoughts and feelings of the men themselves and of the rights of alpha/omega rights situations. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the Omegaverse with an Alpha/Omega pairing.

Cheeky Elf (Omega Christmas Elves Book 4)

Cheeky Elf by M.M. Farmer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Omega Elijah is working as an elf at the Barrington Christmas Market where no one knows about his family or origins as he is currently stuck in an ultra-religious community where Christmas is outlawed. Elijah has been crushing on Alpha Barnaby who is now offering to help him out but does he realise just what he is getting into? Barnaby almost ruined his life once before and he knows Elijah needs his help - the question is can he take the risk of losing everything all over again? Or will it be different this time? Having taken Elijah through a mini-heat Barnaby thinks he loves Elijah so just cannot turn his back on him.

This was an interesting story about the closed community with its draconian ways and the pressure that Elijsh was feeling. Therefore it was great that he was able to start to make a plan to get away from there. His Papa seemed wonderful and I loved the way that the story ended. Lots of emotions in this story as Elijah and Barnaby both went through thought processes as they struggled to work out what to do. Easy to read, feel and understand. Stress working for him sends Bailey looking into self-soothing methods and ends up in a world he never knew existed with binkies, blankets, bibs and stuffies. Review: Sam & Jordan by Jayda Marx 4 of 5 stars

Sam & Jordan (Arrested Hearts #4)

Sam & Jordan by Jayda Marx
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Police officer Sam Miller saw Jordan Webb walk into Brews Brothers and knew he was in trouble as he was the most gorgeous man he had ever seen with a beauty that was not just skin deep as he had a kind heart and a desire to do good in the world. His living arrangement is in limbo due to a breakup so Sam invites him to stay with him. even though he knows it would be the best kind of torture as Jordan is young and could get someone far better than him. Jordan knows he is head over heels in love with Sam as he is sweet and funny but can't reveal his feelings as he is not a catch being seen as dramatic, sensitive and letting emotions get the better of him. His last job as a public defender did not pay well and he has student loan debt up to his ears having switched to be a prosecutor has been given a case seen as hopeless - trying police officer Paul the man who abused Lyle and assaulted Jonah. He is a mess with nothing to offer - no one sane would want him.

I loved this story with the two men who were instantly attracted to each other and their relationship mixed into the case against Paul and all of his cronies who had fallen for his lies. I loved all the drama in their lives and that Jordan was able to keep it under control with Sam's help. The rest of the group's faith in him was also touching. This was a very emotional story and a fitting end to the series (although I wish it hadn't ended!). Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Mike & Jonah by Jayda Marx 4 of 5 stars

Mike & Jonah (Arrested Hearts, #3)

Mike & Jonah by Jayda Marx
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mike trusts his police partner Sam Miller with his life so he is not thrilled when he has to take six weeks off sick. He canned the original precinct for his new partner Jonah in Springfield and they seem to be a troublemaker and untrustworthy even though when he sees him he is the most gorgeous man he has ever seen. Jonah transferred to Princeton after a fellow officer attacked him. He has friends in Princeton so he feels welcome and safe but his temporary partner Mike is gorgeous but gives him the cold shoulder and no respect. Jonah sees secrets in Mike's eyes that he wants to unlock. Maybe it will be the beginning of a beautiful partnership that extends beyond the badge.

I enjoyed this story with the initial caution from Mike based on lies and how Jonah was able to bring him around. I loved the way that the secret was revealed and their love developed. The attack was very dramatic and I liked the way that Mike refused point blank to leave Jonah's side even though that revealed his secret to the others. I loved the ending. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM book with mature content and a BDSM-like D/s dynamic,

Stubborn Boys (Perfect Boys #3)

Stubborn Boys by K.M. Neuhold
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Daddy Aiden liked a challenge and had no problem with a bratty boy; here he was considering two stubborn boys. Gannon was returned home five years ago from the military with scars on one side of his body and a missing leg which he learnt to live with. He loves Nolan but there is no way he would tie him to a man who has a vital part of his anatomy not working. Aiden meddles to get them together and as part of that, it becomes clear that Aiden fixes the part of Gannon that was broken. This begs the question - will the three of them be able to find a way to fit together?

I enjoyed this story with Gannon and Nolan who already loved each other and how Aiden became the glue to stick the three of them together. I thought it was a very Daddy thing to fix Gannon and Nolan first before the introduction of himself so they became the three of them. Lots of emotions in this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MMM story with mature content and BSDM-like Daddy/boy dynamics.
