Review: Fresh Ink: Irons and Works Short Story Collection by E.M. Lindsey 4 of 5 stars

Fresh Ink: Irons and Works Short Story Collection

Fresh Ink: Irons and Works Short Story Collection by E.M. Lindsey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a collection of over 100,000 words of short stories revisiting the Irons and Works family. These glimpses range from weddings and vacations to everyday struggles and joyful milestones, showing what happens to the tattoo artists and their loved ones long after their original happily‑ever‑afters. It’s a warm, nostalgic return to familiar characters, exploring their lives weeks, months, and even years into the future.

This collection was exactly what I’d hoped for — emotional, heartfelt glimpses into the futures of the Irons and Works family. Every short story delivered that wonderful “I’ve always wondered what happened next” feeling, answering questions I didn’t even realise I still had. Some moments made me smile, others brought happy tears, and all of them reminded me why I love these characters so much. I especially enjoyed the surprises along the way, seeing how relationships deepened, how lives unfolded, and how this chosen family continued to grow. It’s a warm, satisfying read that balances big emotions with genuine joy, perfect for anyone who wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye. This was an MM story with mature content.
