The Math Teacher and His Werewolf: A Fated Mates Romance

The Math Teacher and His Werewolf: A Fated Mates Romance by Shaw Montgomery
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Dorian, a math teacher who’s always known the supernatural exists but prefers not to get involved, suddenly finds it impossible to ignore the very obvious werewolf hanging around the animal shelter where he volunteers. Braun, that slightly grumpy werewolf with a mischievous sense of humor, has never paid much attention to humans — until Dorian walks in and turns out to be his mate. With one awkward conversation, everything changes, and the two must figure out how to balance saving the day with the pull of a budding happily‑ever‑after.

This was such a sweet, clever story, and I loved the way Dorian handled the young werewolf at the shelter — calm, thoughtful, and exactly the kind of steady presence Braun’s pack needed in an alpha mate. His open‑mindedness and quiet competence made him feel perfect for the role, even before he realised what he was stepping into. The romance itself was warm and fun, with clear communication and a lovely sense of connection between Dorian and Braun. I really enjoyed their dynamic, though I found myself wishing we’d learned more about the other pack and what came next for them. The only thing that occasionally pulled me out of the story was the missing words here and there, which made some sections a bit harder to follow. But overall, it was an enjoyable, charming read with a delightful pairing at its heart. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like D/s dynamic.
