Review: Moonbeams & Mistletoe by Colbie Dunbar 3 of 5 stars

Moonbeams & Mistletoe

Moonbeams & Mistletoe by Colbie Dunbar
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Indigo enters witness protection expecting a simple safe house, not a luxurious lodge run by a wolf‑shifter pack — or Riven, the future Alpha who instantly recognises him as his fated mate. Indigo has no idea shifters exist until he accidentally witnesses the pack’s full‑moon run on Christmas Eve and panics. Now Riven must convince him their bond is real, and Indigo has to choose between fear and the growing trust he feels for the man determined to protect him.

This novella has such a lovely pull between Indigo and Riven — that quiet, steady tug of a bond that’s more than instinct. Even when Indigo needs space to process the truth about shifters and the mate bond, Riven gives it to him without hesitation, trusting that what they share will bring him back when he’s ready. I really appreciated that their connection wasn’t just the mate bond but genuine affection and growing love. The story blends warmth, emotion, and a touch of danger in a way that feels effortless. It’s easy to read, easy to feel, and easy to root for these two as they navigate fear, trust, and the promise of something real. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.
