With a Mum needing life-saving surgery Charlotte needs money fast and so she decides to auction her virginity. She finds herself barely covered and under bright lights as the Auction House receives bids from the males in the audience. Taygar Tusk, of the Voltare species, recognises her as his mate and so in a deep raspy voice continues to up the bidding for her and then he has won - the lights go up and a huge male marches forward ready to immediately perform marriage vows. But he’s not human but an alien with flashing red eyes, dark grey skin and tusks. He grins, picks her up and tosses her over his massive shoulder before stomping off into the night.
I enjoyed this story with the innocent (but incredibly naive) Charlotte and the worldly Taygar. I thought that the issues with the other bidder were too glossed over but I did find their relationship developed into something quite sweet. The ending with the parents was just weird. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content.
