Review: Once Upon a Second Chance by Davidson King 4 of 5 stars

Once Upon a Second Chance

Once Upon a Second Chance by Davidson King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Can two men weighed down by their pasts find a future with each other? Daniel Laverton is a wealthy man who was born into privilege. His family helped build Everlasting Springs, and he spends his days ensuring it prospers. The town is in his veins, the love he has for it keeping him there, happily. In his big house on the top of a hill he resides - just him, his cat, and his past. With middle age knocking at his door and the holidays approaching, loneliness is creeping in. Aaron Darwin is used to struggling. He lives a moment at a time, traveling in his not-so-trusty car, going from place to place and looking for work. When a huge storm looms, Aaron’s luck goes from bad to worse and his vehicle decides to die. With no shelter, very little money, and a town ahead that is closing down, Aaron has no idea how he will get through this impending disaster. Perhaps it’s the jingle bells in the air or his own solitude, but there’s no way Daniel can leave the man stranded. When he takes a reluctant Aaron in to hunker down and ride out the storm, the two get more than they bargained for. It is easy for them to see all the reasons they shouldn’t work and overlook all the ways they do, but it is holiday season in Everlasting Springs, a time for miracles and second chances. A time for two lonely men to realize they’ve already received the best gift for Christmas: each other.

I loved this story of the two men who were so different but perfect for each other. I loved how kind Daniel was and how determined Aaron was determined to work and pay his own way. A sweet Christmas story with all of the emotions and feelings that are normal at that time of year. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Just Bromantically Invested by Saxon James 4 of 5 stars

Just Bromantically Invested

Just Bromantically Invested by Saxon James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Madden's best friend is uptight, gorgeous, the greatest person he knows and he might be a smidge in love with him. Which is a stupid choice when the guy is straight. Starting a landscaping company with him was the perfect mix of doing what Madden loves and an excuse to spend time with him, only it hasn't completely taken off yet and now he’s saying he’s lonely. For Penn being besties with an overenthusiastic, gold-hearted, nudist of a man is a challenge sometimes. Madden makes everything sunshine when he’s around. The problem is that he hasn't been around as much lately. When an old client calls with a proposition for us, it feels like our once solid friendship is unraveling fast. He wants Madden to help him open a nudist resort, and if Madden’s doing that, he won’t be working with me.

I loved this story of the two best friends who became more and found a way to be together even with the change in work circumstances. Madden wad definitely weird with his determination to be nude but I loved that his housemates helped them to find a compromise. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Daddy on Tap by Della Cain 3 of 5 stars

Daddy on Tap

Daddy on Tap by Della Cain
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Riley's Little side loved a bottle of warm milk until he discovered something better. When his boss asks him to fill in at a conference in Vegas, all he wants to do is stay in his room, wear his footie jams, and watch some cartoons. Everything is too much. The noise, the people, the smoke - all of it. As long as he gets through the mandatory work commitments, He'll call it a win. The opening session moves to a new location, and he ends up in the wrong room where there is a meeting of men who lactate. As the crowd files out and he's stuck trying to will my body into submission, the speaker approaches him and says exactly what he needs to hear. “Do you need a Daddy’s help right now?”.

This was a sweet story of a coincidental meeting between an adorable little and a Daddy who lactates. I loved their relationship and how well they got on. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic and male lactation.

Review: A Little Christmas: Kent by Della Cain by Katea Kat 3 of 5 stars

A Little Christmas: Kent

A Little Christmas: Kent by Della Cain by Katea Kat
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Last year Kent's previous Daddy didn't turn up but was with his other boy, planning a New Year’s Eve wedding. This year he's doing Christmas on his own. Buying his own presents, decorating his own tree, and playing with his own toys…alone. At least that’s the plan until his new neighbour gets his package and discovers they have more in common than a shared driveway.

This was a sweet story about Kent who had his heart broken the previous year but found trust and love again with his new neighbour. The Christmas spirit was definitely in this story. I enjoyed the way that I could empathise with Kent because it was easy to pick up his thoughts and feelings. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: Naughty Elf: Sugar by Wendy Rathbone 3 of 5 stars

Naughty Elf: Sugar

Naughty Elf: Sugar by Wendy Rathbone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When Sugar was born and dumped unwanted at the door of Santa Christero, who immediately adopts him. Being raised by a Santa from the revered consortium of Santas sounds like an omega elf’s dream come true, and while he loves him a lot, his father, Christero, is one of the busiest of all the Santas and spends very little time at home. Sno, his housekeeper, is the one who raises Sugar. He is wonderful, but old, and so Sugar's spoiled and lazy behind gets away with a lot of mischief. After a serious mistake in the factory his father is so furious he conjures a spell that turns him into an elf figurine. His final instructions before being boxed up and mailed to some unknown destination are: Find yourself. Find love. Find your mate. You have until Christmas or you will become an elf figurine forever. He has only eight weeks and no idea how to make that happen.

This was a sweet story of how a spoilt elf found his mate and the future that his father wanted for him. I loved Sno who was a sweetheart. There were a lot of feelings and emotions but many were annoying as Sugar was so spoiled and selfish. Grant, the reindeer shifter who found him was so caring and protective. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and MPREG.

Pretend You're Mine

Pretend You're Mine by Denver Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A fake relationship with real consequences - will love be enough to heal the wounds of the past? Creed has hit rock bottom. Dishonourably discharged, haunted by his time in the military, and freezing his ass off sleeping in the backseat of his car, he's barely surviving. Then a chance encounter with enigmatic billionaire Avery Branson results in an unbelievable offer he can't refuse - pose as his boyfriend for his high-society family, and in return, he'll get the money he desperately needs. But the more time he spend with Avery, the harder it is to remember why he's pretending. He’s everything Creed shouldn’t want, but somehow, he can’t stay away. Creed is the last person Avery expected to fall for - rough around the edges, emotionally closed off, and clearly running from something. But with his mother pressuring him to get married for the good of the family business, he needed someone who could play the part, and Creed was desperate enough to accept. He thought he could keep things simple, strictly business. But every time he peels back another layer of his armour, he wants more.

I loved this story of the two damaged men who found love when they didn't expect it. Avery's family were awful and I was thrilled when Creed stood up for him. Easy to read, feel and understand there were a lot of strong emotions in this story. This was an MM story with mature content.

Fake Friends

Fake Friends by Saxon James
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Five years ago, Rowan ruined the best thing he had in his life and ran. Now, he's finally back to make things right. He needs Circus’s forgiveness, and then he can finally move on. Circus never wanted or expected to see Rowan Harvey again. When he shows up in Sunbury, begging for forgiveness, he's tempted to give it to him just so he’ll disappear. Instead, they make a deal. Circus needs an extra model for a swimwear shoot, and none of his friends are available or fit the brief. He'll forgive him, if he helps him. Then he has to leave. For good. Because his request for anonymity during the shoot proves he’s still living in his dark closet. Circus is not going to make the same mistakes he did when he was a teenager. He won’t let himself fall for him again.

I enjoyed this story of the two men who needed Rowan to admit openly what and who he was. I was pleased that they were able to sort everything out. A lot of thoughts and feelings in this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Vampire Ned is 99 years old but looks like he is only 22. After escaping years of captivity and abuse in a harem he now looks after the children of his late great granddaughter as their nanny for her widower Morgan. He tries to stay away from him but fails.

He's losing his strength when a guy on a four-wheeler finds him, wraps him in a parka, and brings him to his home. He’s huge and scary-looking, but the longer he lets him stay, the more he likes him. Under his grumpy façade, Barclay Black is a teddy bear. Bear shifters don’t hibernate, but sometimes Barclay wishes they could. The upcoming winter has made him cranky. He comes off a bit harsh when he finds a human stumbling through the forest, because who goes hiking in the snow without proper gear? The poor omega isn’t a tourist, though. Calvin needs a place to stay and someone to protect him, and before he can question himself, he has him wrapped around his little finger. Barclay keeps telling himself that he’s vulnerable and too young for him until he realises he wants him, too.

The Revenge Agenda

The Revenge Agenda by Saxon James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Rush shows up to surprise his boyfriend in a barely-there festive outfit, he's expecting him to be alone. Not hosting his fiancé’s family. His saving grace is the fact that he never has to see either of them ever, ever again. Until he walks into work and comes face to face with his new boss. Hunter never, in a million years, would have guessed the man hiding under his desk at work would be the one person he hoped to never see again - his ex-fiancé’s side piece. Rush tells Hunter he didn’t know about him and there were others. We come up with a plan to show him what it feels like when you want someone who doesn’t want you back. All we need is a camera. His number. And one shared kiss. Revenge has never been sweeter.

I loved this story of a relationship which rose from the ashes of betrayal. The feelings and emotions were very central to the story and it was very easy to become fully invested in both men and their relationship. There was an additional theme around Hunter's housing situation which added a good related side theme. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Not Dating Material by Saxon James 4 of 5 stars

Not Dating Material

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Moving to Seattle was supposed to be all about getting a fresh start and leaving the bitter man Molly was becoming. He has new roommates - quirky, sometimes strange, roommates - a nosy, next door neighbour and a grumpy kitty for company, but even surrounded by people, he still doesn't feel like he belongs. Plus, it turns out the men in Seattle are exactly the same as the ones he left behind, and his string of romantic disconnections continues. One of his roommates, Seven, hits him with some hard truths and he realises where he was going wrong. Maybe the men aren’t the problem. Seven was found tied up naked to his bed by Molly which wasn't an ideal way for them to start a friendship. He keeps his pretty lips zipped about the compromising position, and Seven steps in as his dating coach. They go out, Seven notes where he’s going wrong, and he magically becomes dating material. The problem is, between Seven's codependent brother Xander and a new best friend he can’t get rid of, Molly and Seven are the target of a matchmaking scheme. His life is way too busy to add another person to it, and Molly is the kinda guy who needs to be made a priority, which he just can’t do. Xander’s medical anxiety takes up too much of his time, and he's never found a partner who doesn’t resent it. He's determined to help Molly find his ever after. But that guy will never be him.

I loved this story with all of the damaged men with the many thoughts and feelings as they got to know each other and felt in love. I love these men who live together under the care of their elderly neighbour. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

The Timid Tiger

The Timid Tiger by Lorelei M. Hart
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Giorgio discovers his brother and his mate decided to “suggest” that he use the app in the same way I had done to them. Then he had the shock of learning that his Male-Order App mate was due to arrive in a few days.  Hernan loved being an accountant. His streak was not super-supportive of his career, though. They believed that tigers are fierce and therefore should hold jobs that embrace this.  His family started sending alphas his way - alphas he had nothing in common with. So he signed up for the Male-Order Mates app. At least the app asked him what he's looking for in a mate.

This was a sweet story as both men had different motivations for finding their mate but it became clear that it wasn't important why as they were clearly meant for each other. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

Cryss of House Kreegl and his best friend, Qylar, have been hiding on Earth for three years to avoid his scheming parents dead set on a royal match. After losing a bet where he couldn’t say ‘no’ for one day, he ends up signed as a model. All thoughts of retribution for Qylar’s embarrassing punishment are forgotten when he meets the enthralling Marketing Director of the queer underwear brand who first employs him. Struggling to recover from a painful breakup, Alex Parker busies himself with his massive, holiday ad campaign, already two months overdue. The last thing he needs is to lose the model cast in the role of ‘Santa Daddy’ the day of the shoot. Thankfully the agency sends a last-minute, newly signed model to save the day. The minute Alex takes one look, he knows Cryss is perfect for their Santa—and unlike any man he’s ever met. Alex doesn’t mix business and pleasure, throwing a wrench in Cryss’s plans of seduction. When Alex backs himself into a corner at work, Cryss makes a move. He’ll fix Alex’s problem, if the human agrees to celebrate the entire holiday season by his side. Together that close, however, Cryss’s secrets and tentacles are bound to come out.

Who's Your Daddy

Who's Your Daddy by M.A. Innes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Terrence isn't worried about figuring out who his Secret Santa is as all the possibilities are fun. But he’s a little curious, especially when the card is signed by his Secret Santa Daddy. Okay, he’s definitely curious, but since it has to be one of the contractors currently rebuilding his kitchen he’s not worried, but he is hoping it’s the grumpy one. Wait. What was his name again? Enzo isn’t worried. He knows the slightly distractible little will figure things out eventually, and if he doesn’t, well, one of his cousins will help the cutie out. They find him just as fascinating as Enzo does, but finders keepers, so the cutie belongs to him. Besides, he’s the only Daddy in the group, so that’s going to work in his favour too. As long as he can get his mischievous little to actually try to guess who his Santa is. When a Secret Santa brings presents and attention, a naughty cutie might need a push to help him remember that the best gifts need a Daddy to play with.I

This was a sweet story of Terrence and the fun contractors working in his house one of them being his secret Santa daddy. The contractors and Enzo's family were all nuts which kind of fit little Terrence. This is definitely a book to make you smile. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM book with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After years of bureaucracy and playing by the rules, Cannon is at the end of his rope. He’s seen behind the curtain where money matters more than the law. Cannon is done caring. He’s followed all the procedures and danced to everyone’s demands, playing the perfect agent. Now, he doesn't care. Let the world burn. He'll still take that paycheck, though. Cannon is owed that. When he finally goes too far and finds himself in the hot seat, Cannon has no intention of giving them the satisfaction of seeing him squirm. He’s done being their victim. They have no idea what they've unleashed. Xan isn't exactly on the right side of the law. Well, that depends on who a person asks. Some days, he runs a secret CIA program, negotiating eliminations. Other days, he liaisons between crime lords, killers, and the highest offices in the land. Someone has to do the dirty work. Cannon’s prior dogged determination turned ticking time bomb is a problem he can’t ignore. He has to get the guy out of the way before he blows a whole lot of people’s lives out of the water. Xan just doesn't expect Cannon to be quite so cooperative or irresistible.

As with all books in this series this was a dark story centred around two men who worked in the alphabet agencies. Xan was the more dangerous of the two men due to his upbringing and could be scary at times. This story had me addicted all the way through and I had no idea how was going to end. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Duties and Dreams by John A. Heldt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

World War I rages in Europe, the Carpenters and the Lees make a home in Southern California. Bill and Cassie add to their family. Andy and Annie start one of their own. Paul, a bachelor, enters the world of business. All find peace in a turbulent time. Then draft notices arrive, illness strikes a child, and life for two intertwined families takes a troubling turn. Years later, Emilie Perot, a beautiful resistance fighter, and Steve and Shannon Taylor, an American couple with ties to Paul Carpenter, conspire to escape Nazi occupation. Each seeks freedom and a new life in France's Vosges Mountains, home of a legendary fountain of youth that can restore health and send visitors through time. As events unfold in the different eras, the participants march on. All are unaware of the forces that seem determined to throw them together.

I love books written by this author. His attention to detail and accuracy of history and the events during that time is second to none. It is then skilfully woven into the story of the family members that keeps your attention. Easy to read and understand you cannot help but live the story with them all.

The Husband Hoax

The Husband Hoax by Saxon James
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

For Christian being invited to his cousin’s wedding really shouldn’t be a big deal except he hasn't seen his family for a decade. He is going to fake it and hire a guy with an online presence so impressive they’ll be desperate to welcome him back into the elitist fold. Until his fake date cancels minutes before the ceremony. For Émile one letter from his dearly departed grandfather, and suddenly he's on a husband hunt. He’s reworked his entire will because he’s asked Emile to use that money for “good.” To get that inheritance, though, there’s one stipulation: marriage. Even with his request, Emile is tempted to stick to his original plan of getting as far from his wretched family as possible, and letting them fight it out. But then he runs into a tall drink of scattered mess outside of a wedding who’s in desperate need of a date, and the pieces click into place. They can help each other. Marriage, money, then go our separate ways. Easy. Now all he has to do is stop myself from actually falling for the guy.

This was a great story as both men coped with their versions of dreadful families. Both men felt real from the writing and it was easy to empathise with them. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Alex

Alex by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Born with the ability to see psychic abilities in others, Alex finds himself called to help out a mutual friend, someone with similar abilities to Alex’s. Plus this mutual friend is on a mission to save innocent children. No way Alex can say no to that. Taryn is desperate to save two children—both with abilities—from a greedy family member. Taryn needs help, so she contacted Levi, looking to see if he had men to spare. Of course that took her to Terk, with a similar request. In Taryn’s world, anyone with similar talents who needs help gets it. Period. Finding out these children were being exploited by their uncle made it doubly hard. But the uncle looking for an easy way to profit off these gifted children isn’t willing to step aside, … not without taking down everyone around him.

I really enjoyed this story as Alex and Taryn fought to save the three children with psychic abilities while trying to stay within the law. There are a lot of emotions and drama in this story. I loved that they wanted to wait for the children to be safe before starting their own relationship.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Saber just graduated from college with an engineering degree and is ready to build something amazing. As one of the only guys in his college who lactated, he was popular with all and had his pick of playmates to choose from. But he isn’t looking for a bro. He’s looking for a boy. Frederick takes his job seriously, even if his product is the lowest priority on the company’s roadmap. It’ll be discontinued eventually, but until then, he’s doing his best to put out the best product possible. When he’s forced to hire some hotshot college grad, who also happens to be the CEO's nephew, to handle the next software update, he has zero confidence that it’ll go well. Mostly because the guy is obnoxiously arrogant and seems to think he’s the world’s gift to mankind. Granted, he is pretty to look at. And tall. And ridiculously charming when he’s not trying to show off his intelligence. But Frederick doesn’t usually notice those traits about people. Growing up in the LDS church turned him off from anything romantic, pleasurable, or remotely affectionate. Now that he’s pushing 30, he’s pretty sure he’ll die as celibate as the day he was born. But all that changes when Saber picks up on something about Frederick that not even he realized was waiting dormant inside him.

This was a sweet book about an experienced college graduate and a sheltered manager who do great work together and are perfect for each other outside the work environment too. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM book with mature content with a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic with male lactation.

Pilan arrived in town to make a living as an artist and fell for a rich man's promises before he saw him for what he was - a human who had a thing for young omegas, tossing them aside once they hit the ripe old age of twenty-five or less. With limited options, he hopes that the Male-Order Mates app will help him find a true mate as far away from the ugliness as possible. Stefano's brother signed him up for a Male-Order mate without letting him know. He has no choice but to buy the omega a train ticket back. It isn’t fair not to. But then he bounds off the train, excitement and joy flowing from him, making the town a better place just by his presence, and he finds himself sliding the ticket back into his pocket. Maybe his brother was right after all. His bear sure seems to think so.

This was a sweet story of how Shy chef Stefano and artist Pilan were matched by the mail order mates app. I loved that he cooked to relieve stress and that Pilan was such a cute animal shifter. A little indecision but easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

The Roommate Situation

The Roommate Situation by Felicity Snow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rory came home to find his boyfriend in bed with another guy was not how he expected his birthday to go. When his two best friends find out, they help him with moving his things out of the apartment and trying to find a new roommate. In the meantime, they take him out to get his mind off Zach and get laid. Rory is not exactly the cream of the crop when it comes to the dating pool, and all of the messages he's been getting from Zach are only solidifying that in my mind. Surprisingly a guy notices him and he’s got to be the hottest guy he's ever seen. But it goes horribly wrong and Rory runs away mortified and in tears. Thankfully he'll probably never see him again. When Parker spotted the adorable little twink in the bow tie and suspenders at the club he was instantly attracted to him. All that wavy brown hair and the cute as-hell glasses. But when he runs away in tears, Parker is terrified he'd done something to upset him. When he shows up at Parker's doorstep the following day and he’s his potential new roommate he can’t believe his luck. He seems nervous and shy, but so sweet. The more time they’re together, the more Parker realises what a number his ex did to him, and he's determined to make sure he knows how amazing he is, and that he deserves someone who will appreciate and care for him.

This was a sweet story as Rory and Parker became roommates and Rory started to realise that his ex as wrong on many levels but Parker was the right man for him. Easy to read, feel and understand there were a lot of emotions and feelings in this story. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: A Merry Christmas for Art... and His Tentacles by Amy Bellows 4 of 5 stars

A Merry Christmas for Art... and His Tentacles

A Merry Christmas for Art... and His Tentacles by Amy Bellows
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When cryptids came out as living among us, there was a settling in period, but now having a loch ness monster as your neighbour and a bigfoot as your security guard at work is just par for the course. Luckily for me, Dean happens to work with the sweetest, sexiest cephalopod in the entire building. Unfortunately for him, his people skills aren’t the greatest. When their harpy boss demands that Dean teach him how to interact with people. Teaching him all about the human holiday of Christmas while giving him important people skills, their lessons happen to look like dates. It’s embarrassing that Art's boss assigned someone to teach him people skills. It’s also hopeless. If learning how to interact with human beings was something anyone could learn in a class, he would have done so by now. But hanging out with Dean Miller isn’t so bad, even if Art's tentacles have a mind of their own and won’t stop touching him. He doesn’t mind his awkwardness the way other people do, and he doesn’t mind his tentacles either. His easy acceptance makes Art want things that he's not used to wanting - wonder what he would do if he asked for more than people lessons?

This was a sweet story as Dean tried to teach shy Art how to interact with people and how their dates started to mean much more. I enjoyed the Christmas theme of the story and how their affection for each other developed. The cultural differences were quite funny sometimes. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: A Touch of Christmas Magic by A.D. Ellis 4 of 5 stars

A Touch of Christmas Magic

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kai has been in love with his best friend for as long as he can remember. He’s well aware he can’t act on those feelings, so he keeps himself relatively happy going on dates, running a successful business, and supporting the guy he’s known since he was five years old. Colby ran from Peppermint Hollow years ago. Trying to escape the demons of his childhood drove him straight into the arms of drama and chaos. The only good thing to come from the years he’s been away is his daughter. When Kai encourages Colby to come home, both men get sucker punched with feelings they’ve convinced themselves they can’t have. With a little help from their tight circle of friends and family, heads are removed from backsides and the two men grasp onto their very own love of a lifetime. Just when the couple is settling in to celebrate their first Christmas together with their infant daughter, the past comes knocking. Together, Kai and Colby know they can take on anything, but they aren’t going to turn down a little luck and a touch of Christmas magic to get them through the storm.

I loved this story of the two best friends who had loved each other in secret for years and the sweet girl who made them into a family. Their neighbours/friends were really supportive and not above a little push in the right direction. Lots of emotions and feelings for them both to navigate. This was an MM story with mature content.

Complete Me by Beck Grey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It takes a near-death experience for Bjorn to reprioritise his life. He needs to stop meddling in his siblings’ lives and focus on himself. Then Kaino Nieminen and Xander Neilsen walk out of his past and into his hospital room, and maybe, just maybe, the universe is finally cutting him a break. Xander lives to fill eager students’ minds with the wonder that is Dickens and Austen, to debate the merits of Shelley, and dive into the scandalous roots of the Bronte sisters’ novels. Woe betide the graduate student who doesn’t find English Literature fascinating. When Bjorn Osouf plays hero and almost gets himself killed, he takes it as his sign to reconnect. As expected, there’s still a spark between us. What he doesn't anticipate is the imminently fascinating Kaino Nieminen, or his inconvenient attraction to them. Making personal connections is a challenge. He's no introvert, but he needs time to really get to know someone, to trust them, before they’re a friend. As a non-binary, touch-averse, demisexual, it takes even longer for anything romantic to develop, and most people aren’t that patient.Only one person has cared to try. And when he almost dies, it’s the shove needed to reconnect. He finds himself in Bjorn Osouf’s hospital room, and the instant reconnection has him eager to give things one more try. Then Xander Neilsen walks in and throws a wrench into his plan.

I enjoyed this story as the three men had friendship then a relationship followed by love. I loved the care taken to describe Kaino and their limitations. I liked the focus on consent and safewords to ensure safety. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MMX story with mature content.

Review: Doc by Abrianna Denae 5 of 5 stars

Doc

Doc by Abrianna Denae
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Doc Wescott’s life hasn't always been easy or smooth sailing, but as the Amato Family Head Doctor, he’s made a name for himself in both the medical community and the underground crime world. His close relationship with the Amato Boss, has given him liberties most people don’t have, and it’s allowed him to build a home and family he wouldn’t otherwise have. When tragedy hits the Family, Doc is the first on scene, using all his skills and contacts as a doctor to do what he does best - save the lives of those who’ve given him a place to belong. Extenuating circumstances means one of Doc’s assistants is needed elsewhere, and additional help comes in the form of the last person he ever expected, but might have always needed. Soren Petrov Knightly always knew the Bratva wasn’t for him. Too pretty for his own good, he’s the antithesis to everything the Bratva believes in. When his uncle negotiates an opportunity for him to join the Amato Family, he doesn’t hesitate to take it. A chance to make his own way, without having to censor himself for the comfort of others, is everything he’s always wanted. Before they can settle into their life together, the Bratva reminds Soren that no one escapes easily - not even the Pakhan’s nephew. Doc and Soren will need to fight against the Organisation’s prejudice and old-school ideals if they ever hope to have forever together, or die trying.

I loved this story with the complex men and the complex organisations surrounding them. I loved the attempts to separate physical intimacy and feelings or love. There were a lot of complex emotions and feelings that were quite addictive. I loved being back with the Amato family. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MMM story with mature content.

Yuletide Daddy

Yuletide Daddy by A.W. Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Micah has been too busy building his business to think of much else. It isn't until his brother practically begs him to come to one of his football games that he realises maybe there’s more to life than working all day. At the game, he finds himself distracted by the tall, handsome player with a focus unlike anything he’s ever seen. Hatching a plan to get closer to his brother’s teammate, Micah hopes to sweep the sweet, shy man off his feet by any means necessary. Jett doesn't like much outside of football and trains. And honestly, the first is just convenient since he’s good at it. He’d rather spend all day lost in the worlds of his imagination, playing with the collection he’s built up through the years. When he gets roped into a Secret Santa exchange by his teammates, he never expects to find himself at the centre of someone’s undivided attention.

This was a sweet story as football player Finn found the Daddy of his dreams when he was swept away on his dream railway journey. I loved that this story was set in Bellport and featured some friends from the author's other books. Easy to read and understand this book will make you smile. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Tempest

Tempest by Kiki Clark
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cash’s loyalty to his pack is unwavering. He’d sacrifice anything to protect his packmates. Do anything to keep them safe. Put their needs above his own always. It is the life he was born for, and the one he’s worked years to achieve. As an Enforcer, he swore an oath to his alpha: pack before self. Not once has he regretted his choices. Until an injured eagle shifter lands in his lap, and his protective instincts get torn in two. He knows he can’t risk the safety of his pack - no matter what his panther demands. Once the little bird is all healed up, Cash will have to send him on his way. For the good of his pack. But dark, frightened eyes and a sweet smile call to his cat in a hungry, possessive way and challenge everything he’s ever thought he knew. For the first time in his life, he might just have to put himself first.

I enjoyed this story set in the same world as the Kincaid Pack. I loved golden eagle shifter Ore who was so much fun. Cash went a bit far with the pack first before talking to his Alpha as fated mates deserved more respect from him. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Omega Captive of the Mean Old Dragon

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Akai is a set-omega, which means he has no inner beast and cannot shift. Considered worthless by his wolf pack, and with no individual rights, he is sold into slavery along with other set-omegas as they come of age. He is purchased in a flurry of paperwork by Danon, a man with a white beard so thick and bristly, he looks like some sort of old craggy beast. But things aren’t as they seem. Despite his fears, Akai is strangely drawn to Danon, who is standoffish but still polite, and in only a few days he finds himself entering his first heat.

I enjoyed this story with feisty Akai and Danon who was not as miserable and mean as he appeared. There were a lot of emotions in this story as they sorted everything out. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and MPREG.

Omega Captive of the Alpha Dragon

Omega Captive of the Alpha Dragon by Wendy Rathbone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tavi is a set-omega, which means he has no inner beast and cannot shift.
Considered worthless by his wolf pack, and with no individual rights, he is sold into slavery along with other set-omegas as they come of age. Alluresh is a dragon shifter, all business and very little play. His inner dragon is feral and often controls him, shifting inappropriately at times, creating chaos and damage. Others fear him, causing Alluresh to become bitter and reclusive. All of that changes when a shady friend from his past invites him to an omega auction. Alluresh attends, only to discover his dragon has eyes for one of the omegas for sale, demanding he bid on him or else. What is Alluresh to do but obey his beast and call out a ridiculously large sum? Two outcast men learn they might have more in common than they think, and a feral dragon finds his inner heart.

I really enjoyed this story with the two men who had far more in common than they realised. I loved how out of control Alluresh's dragon was and yet he was putty in Tavi's hands. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and MPREG.

The Witch and His Doctor

The Witch and His Doctor by Kiki Clark
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Damien has several secrets. His entire life within the Kincaid Pack has been a lie. Now that the truth is starting to come out, he’s faced with accepting the consequences he set into motion years ago and hoping his mate will forgive him. Except the reckless actions of his past may prove to not only be his own undoing but that of the pack he’s come to love. Carter gave up on finding his fated mate years ago. He has a medical practice to keep him busy, a pack he’d do anything for, and a family that’s always been a little too nosy for his peace of mind. Learning the witch he’s grown to admire and have feelings for has betrayed them all? Just proves he’s getting too old for the whole falling-in-love thing. It doesn’t matter that the moment he catches Damien’s unaltered scent he realizes another devastating secret the man has been hiding. The only thing that matters is saving the pack and its alpha. With Rick’s life hanging in the balance and the pack’s enemies moving to strike against them while they’re at their most vulnerable, it will take every scrap of magic and bravery Damien possesses to prove once and for all where his loyalty lies.

When he gets an assignment to design software for sexbots, he meets a sexy sentient android who treats him like a princess and discovers more about himself than he ever realized. As mysterious threats to his chosen family escalate, Volt has to decide if he wants to risk his heart and take the leap toward love.

By day, Bryce goes by Princess Valeria, a fierce dungeon dueling RPG sweetheart, but when night falls, he’s the DJ at a hot Brooklyn nightclub. His world is fast-paced, chaotic, and full of late-night sets, but deep down, he's yearning for something more - a Daddy strong enough to break through his icy defences. Everett is the opposite. A confident and successful tech entrepreneur, his life is all about control and order. He’s in bed before midnight and runs on precision - until one night when he stumbles into Bryce’s world. Sparks fly, and Everett’s undeniable dominance calls to Bryce’s hidden desires. Bryce and Everett are from two different worlds, but as they collide, their chemistry is off the charts. Can Everett embrace the wildness of Bryce’s chaotic life? And can Bryce let down his walls to find the love he’s been searching for?

This was a nice story of how a Princess met his Daddy while doing one of his adult jobs. The Enforcer and His Heart

The Enforcer and His Heart by Kiki Clark
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The mysterious Keegan has been haunting Nico's dreams. Ever since the night he stormed through the pack's protections like they were nothing, Nico hasn't been able to forget the powerful young witch. Not his scarred face, his loyalty, or his fierce but sad eyes. Nico just wished he'd caught Keegan's scent. He ached to know if his fated mate is a witch stuck on the other side of the country. No one will stop him from finding out. The Kincaid Pack is trouble. Everyone knew that, and Keegan's coven forbid contact with them. But Keegan broke the rules, and now he can't stop dreaming about a shifter he barely caught a glimpse of the night he'd helped the pack. The teasing smile he sees every time he shuts his eyes is becoming a near obsession. One he isn't sure he wants to stop.

I loved this story of Nico, Keegan and Rosie. I loved Keegan's reaction to Rosie's wolfie which signalled that they would become a family before the adults had sorted everything out. Easy to read, feel and understand. The build up has started to the completion of the series. This was an MM story with mature content.

The Hunter and His Mates

The Hunter and His Mates by Kiki Clark
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As personal assistant to a powerful alpha of a large pack, there are certain rules Jamie has for himself to make sure he’s successful at his job. First, nothing and no one gets to the alpha without his say so. Second, schedules will be enforced for everyone. At all costs. Third, a certain Enforcer with an enticing scent and scarred face is not to be stared at, drooled over, and/or daydreamed about. And fourth, human hunters are never, ever mate material—no matter what their smiles or Southern drawls do to him. But what if his own rules are preventing Jamie from finding something unique and magical and hotter than he could ever imagine? Because being caught between a grumpy cougar and a dangerous hunter was the last place Jamie thought he should be… but it might just be exactly where he needs to be to find both of his fated mates.

This was a very enjoyable story as we learnt much more about the Hunter, what happened to Drake the enforcer and Jamie. As that was happening the danger facing the pack became more intense. There were a lot of feelings and emotions in this story which added to the intensity. This was an MMM story with mature content.

Ira Knox hasn’t been able to get Dorian out of his head since their drunken hookup months ago, so when they run into each other again he thinks this might be the perfect chance to finally purge the sexy COO from his mind. Even though it’s an intimate affair, the two agree from the beginning to keep things casual between them. As the CEO and founder of one of the world’s top makeup companies, Baton Blue Cosmetics, Kieran Kingsley has enough on his plate to worry about without having to take an arranged marriage into consideration. When he finds out his parents have plotted with another prominent family to get him hitched, he immediately seeks a way to call the whole thing off before word gets out. What he isn’t expecting is for Theodore Hudson to be so attractive. Theodore Hudson is a popular artist who’s spent years trying to build a life for himself separate from his family and their wealth. When his mother tells him he’s been matched with Kieran, he’s certain it’s part of a ploy to ruin his latest gallery showing and get him to return home. He has every intention of telling Kieran off when they meet, yet something about the other man makes it difficult to look away. Grindstone's Edge: The Road to Rocktoberfest 2024

Grindstone's Edge: The Road to Rocktoberfest 2024 by Gabbi Grey
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Last year, Axel's band, Grindstone, hit the stage at Rocktoberfest, their big break at last. But in the middle of that triumph, his love life crashed into disaster. He'd been in love with Hugo Threadgold for years, but he was once his high school music teacher, so he figured he was off-limits. Then, in Black Rock, he came clean about his feelings, but his heart cracked when Hugo turned and walked away. He's not giving up, though. He's ready to lose his straight-guy image for him, if only he can make him believe. Ten years ago, Axel and his best friend, Ed, were Hugo's most promising students. He taught them everything he could about music, and watched them struggle to become the musicians they are today. But boys become men, and last October in Nevada, Axel told him he'd developed romantic feelings for him. He was rattled. He'd never let himself look at him that way. Now that he's put the idea in his head, he can't get him out of his mind. The man he's become is someone strong and talented, determined and attractive. Someone he could fall for. But isn't it his duty to keep things professional and walk away from the man who tempts him as no one else ever has?

This was a good story of love between a music teacher and his former student. I did find Hugo's hesitancy a bit irritating at times and the ending was a little strange as I thought they wouldn't be safe to live there. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
