Chase Steele escaped his drunken abusive mother at 18 and joined the army but now he is in town looking for a job after leaving the army after an injury. Then he gets a surprise text message from his aunt, visits her and finds out that he has a half-sister who is being cared for by a loving gay couple who owns the local bar. He finds himself living above their bar and working for them. Xander Copperfield did not have a great start to life, after moving from foster home to foster home he ended up joining a gang and experienced some abuse before escaping at making his living as a motorbike mechanic. He ends up living in a flat above the workshop. Chase and Xan first meet in a park and then again when Chase is working at the bar - from there they become firm friends. Can these friends become something much more?
I really enjoyed this story of the two men who were instantly attracted to each other when they met and then became firm friends before becoming lovers. They were perfect for each other and perfect together. I loved the way that the family that Chase acquired was a much better family than he started off with and that his aunt was just lovely. It was great when Xan's past life came back calling and that the new reality and chosen family all worked together to help him remove that problem from their lives going forward. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is a steamy MM, friends-to-lovers, bisexual awakening romance story.
