Alessandro is known as Dark Angel and is the fixer for the Acierno Mafia family. Blue is the Bodyguard and he is there to stop him. Once they were lovers and in this case, they are enemies as Alessandro needs to kill the mark who is currently protected by Blue. But Blue is the man who broke Alessandro's heart and Alessandro is the only man Blue has ever loved so that adds a whole new dimension to the whole situation. At the end of the mission, one man will live, and one man will die. It’s a mission impossible, and neither of them can walk away.
This was a different spin from the previous books in this series which is fitting as this is the last in the series. My heart broke for them both when it seemed as if they had no hope and no future. There were definitely a few surprises in the conclusion of the plot to kill the twins to get control of the Acierno family and I loved the way that they did everything they could to be understanding to them both and their situation. Easy to read, feel and understand I was thrilled that there was a HEA at the end even if it was a little different to what you might imagine. Contains mature MM content in a BSDM-like DDLB relationship.
