Nerdy gamer and nursing student Kaden Ono has a painful past and a solid plan for the future he just needs a break to get back on his feet. Spencer Nelson is a successful construction worker but sees himself as a failure and not worthy of anything good until Rai enters his life and makes him question everything. Then the two friends agree to be fake boyfriends and add in casual sex. Can Rai and Spencer protect their hearts and settle for their status quo friendship? Or will they finally accept the truth and let love take control?
I enjoyed this story which was fun to start with and got more interesting as it became clear that they belonged together and really both loved each other even if Spencer tried to deny it due to his determination that he didn't deserve Rai or love. I loved that the therapist Alicia and Rai were finally able to persuade him. Easy to read, feel and understand. This MM romance contains mature content and is a friends-to-lovers and fake-relationship story.
