Payton is in a job he loves, has great coworkers and needed space from his family. He just wants the status quo now and not even the sweet baker down the street will upset that (although he is naughtier than he could ever imagine). The baker's son is called Benjamin Xavier Becker and in order to keep his sanity he has firm boundaries with his family about his personal life. He also keeps his preferred name and his passion for being a Handler to pups but realises that things have to change - especially as a cautious man with a blush on his cheeks and a wag in his step is there to give him the push he needs. Sometimes strength comes from within and sometimes it comes from the most unexpected places.
I loved this story which had plenty of humour from Payton's inner voice, the old ladies and Bex's parents. I loved the way that Bex in his role as Dom did the best he could to ease Payton into being a pup and his submissive which was beautiful. When they decided to give a relationship between them a try it was a really hot scene and was worth rereading. I smiled from the start to the finish of this book it was such a delight. Easy to read, feel and understand this is an MM story containing mature content with a BDSM-like D/s relationship including puppy play.
