Jamie MacDougall like a rookie fell in love with a witness he was assigned to protect after getting past his sass he discovered the generous caring man behind the mask. He did everything he could to keep it professional even though it killed him and when the case was over he had to hand him over to his new life even though after a year he still thinks of him and can't move on. Ash testified against his best friend's father for conducting illegal drug trials but he also fell for the deputy marshall protecting him. After 12 months he goes back to Seattle but his past is hot on his heels and so he turns to Jamie to protect him as he is the only person he can trust.
I loved this story with the strong man who is professional and plays everything by the book apart from one thing - his heart which didn't get the memo. I loved Ash who was just fierce, loyal and very sweet. I was thrilled when they were finally together and the gift his best friend gave him allowed him to do exactly what he wanted for a profession. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM book with mature content.
