Tucker had a plan for his life and it was on track until the man he chose was shown up as a liar and a cheat who was only using him to climb the social ladder. Since then Tucker has been a shell of the man he used to be and needs someone to break him out of the darkness. Patrick knew the first time he saw Tucker that he was the perfect boy for him but at the time he wasn't available. When he realises he is now free he waits until it becomes apparent that his hurt is far deeper than anyone thought. After promising that Tucker will be able to feel again and spanking changes Patrick into wanting just Tucker in any way he can have him if only his heart will let him in.
I enjoyed this story with the betrayal, the hurt, the friends who did whatever it took to break him out, and the man who was devoted to bringing him back to life. It was lovely to read of the slow steps that were taken to help him cry and then be capable of smiling again. I was thrilled when he was able to be everything that they both needed for their HEA. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content in a BSDM-like DDLB relationship with edging and spanking.
