Skyler Byrd lost time with his family when he was in a toxic and abusive relationship and so when he reaches the breaking point he is homeless and in desperate need of his brother's help. Donovan Badger is living his dream with his best friend Charlie when his younger brother turns up and he is immediately drawn to him which goes way past their past friendship and definitely against Charlie's wishes. Will Skyler and Van allow themselves to be kept apart? Or will they embrace what they’ve found with each other and let love win?
I enjoyed this story with the devoted Van who is determined to do whatever it takes to support Skylar who is trying to get back to a more normal life where he can move past his previous abuse. I enjoyed the way that their emotions were analysed and discussed even if they were not always so honest with Charlie. The fantasy section was definitely hot and definitely showed how much Van loved Skylar. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.
