Review: Reindeer Tracks by Pepper North by Paige Michaels 3 of 5 stars

Reindeer Tracks (Little Cakes, #16)

Reindeer Tracks by Pepper North by Paige Michaels
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Gemma James is the owner of Design Magic and helps women find the clothes that make them feel beautiful. She is busy running her business and so has had no time to find herself a man of her own let alone the Daddy that she has been longing for. Anton Gates is waiting to buy his sister a gift card for her birthday when he spots a well-loved stuffie by the cash register. The moment he meets Gemma he can tell she is the right person to help him find the perfect gift instead. Enchanted by Gemma he is also realising that she is the right Little for him.

I enjoyed this story with the overworked Gemma and the caring Anton and their path to becoming Daddy and his Little girl. I loved the way that they were able to work through work problems on both sides to make their lives better. They had a great relationship and I loved the way that the latest flavour of the cupcake from Little Cakes was central to some parts of the story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was a BSDM-like DDLG story with mature content and included diapers, bottles and onesies.

Review: Oh So Oscar by Charlie Novak 5 of 5 stars

Oh So Oscar (Forever Love #3)

Oh So Oscar by Charlie Novak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Travel journalist Oscar Moore has a couple of problems - he accidentally managed to convince his boss that he has a boyfriend and he now has to persuade photographer Ilias Verrati to play along for a week-long couple's retreat in Hawaii. Illias is full of sass and sunshine and he flirts constantly. They just need to manage the week then Oscar can go for editorial glory. Both men have their reasons for avoiding relationships but they also desperately want one. Their work makes relationships difficult so maybe this fake one is what they need. Before Ilias will risk his heart, Oscar will have to find a way to open it.

I loved this story with the two men who avoided risking their hearts but having talked throughout their time together and after their return home they began to realise that it was too late as their hearts had already set themselves on each other. I enjoyed the easy way they were able to talk to each other after their initial awkwardness. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: A Daddy for Christmas: Ever by Wendy Rathbone 3 of 5 stars

 A Daddy for Christmas: Ever

Daddy for Christmas: Ever by Wendy Rathbone My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ever has a secret desire when he is alone that he is very little and have someone there to
t|Take care of his every need. A guy in his office complex gives him a surprise teddy bear Christmas present and then asks him out. Birch sees the young man every day at the coffee cart downstairs in the building where he works and he can't get him off his mind. When he gets the courage to start talking to him Ever's secret matches his own and is everything that he has ever dreamed of.

This was a sweet holiday story with two men who work in the same office building and discover that their desires are very compatible - just as well as they have already started the process of failing for each other. I loved the way that Birch looked after Ever even before they were into a relationship and that he had consent at the forefront of his mind. I loved the way the characters were described and the clarity used for their emotions and emotional state. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB relationship with onesies, diapers, binkies and stuffies.

Rear Ended (Big Bull Mechanics #4)

Rear Ended by K.M. Neuhold
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Henry had been a big thing in Chicago but his start-up went under leaving him penniless after years of eighty-hour weeks. Now forty-eight, he is living with his brother and starting from scratch as the office manager at the garage. When he starts work it becomes apparent that a recent hook-up is one of his co-workers. If Auggie wasn’t tempting enough with all of the tattoos and his surprisingly sweet smile, now Henry is spending all day watching him work. Auggie is covered in grease, with his overalls half-zipped and Henry can't stop looking at him. Henry has real self-esteem issues and is trying to stay detached but Auggie keeps baking him cookies and touching him and what's not to love?

This book was such fun with all of the puns and quips as well as the banter. The relationship between Henry and Auggie started from a hookup but developed into a friendship and then something far more meaningful. The emotions felt but the characters were easy to feel and understand. I loved the ending. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Finding Finn by Charlie Novak 4 of 5 stars

Finding Finn (Forever Love, #2)

Finding Finn by Charlie Novak
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Finn is quiet and shy and has very few friends outside of his family but his best friend Gem is a game designer who is funny, self-depreciating and a nerd just like Finn. Finn fell for Gem years ago and is resigned to not being with him. Finn also has a spicy side project that no one knows about. When Gem asks for Finn's help opening a new board game store he steps up and it brings them both closer together. Soon things become complicated as lines of friendship blur between them, and Finn begins to worry Gem will find out his secret. But maybe that wouldn’t be as bad as it seems. Maybe Gem already knows the secret Finn's keeping. All he has to do is convince Finn to share…

I enjoyed this story with the two friends becoming closer over the shared goal of Gem's game store and how their shared loneliness became a friends-with-benefits arrangement before feelings on both sides became apparent. I thought the side gig was funny given that Gem was already a subscriber. The emotional parts of this story were well told and easy to feel as you read it. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: Stick Shift by K.M. Neuhold 3 of 5 stars

Stick Shift (Big Bull Mechanics #3)

Stick Shift by K.M. Neuhold
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Red has had a hopeless crush on his straight best friend travel blogger Journey. Over the years they have stayed in touch via text messages and video chats. Neither of them has a clue how to run the small farm his uncle left him but Red is happy to stand next to him and figure it all out even if they have to share a bed. But Journey starts to change - looking at Red differently and touching him.

I didn't enjoy this one in the series as much as the others. I found the way that Red immediately moved into the farmhouse with Journey and was all for selling his house a little too far-fetched. I also found the bi-awakening a bit too fast and contrived. I did find the animal stories enchanting and the learning from online videos quite typical of modern times. Easy to read and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Always Eli by Charlie Novak 4 of 5 stars

Always Eli (Forever Love, #1)

Always Eli by Charlie Novak
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Drag Queen Eli Baker needs a job as being a full-time drag performer is not paying the bills. So he takes a temporary office job but it has the side effect of reintroducing him to funny and sharp-witted Tristan Rose who just happens to be Eli's oldest brother's best friend. Eli can't stand his brother and the feeling is mutual so getting involved with Tristan could mean family trouble but Eli is not one known for following rules. Tristan is too intrigued to ignore Eli especially when he takes interest and sees Eli's life outside the office. The question is when it comes to it will Tristan choose Eli over his best friend?

This was a fun story to read with the massively intelligent Eli who just shines when he is on stage in drag and the strong and determined Tristan who just could not resist him. I loved Eli's sass and wit when he was in drag mode which also resurfaced when he was handling other people who were just annoying. I loved their relationship which was built on friendship and trust. Easy to read and understand, you will get all of the feels as you read this and understand the depth of their relationship. This is an MM story with mature content.

His Christmas Conundrum : An M/M Holiday Romance

His Christmas Conundrum : An M/M Holiday Romance by A.W. Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Student Trevor Cooper has run out of time and options as he needs a date to take home for Christmas but his last girlfriend broke up months ago and she won't take no for an answer so has effectively blocked him from finding anyone else. His friend Bailey says there is another way for him to find someone even if it is pretend and so Trevor jumps at it. Fellow student Milo Adair is a prime example of BDE and is perfect to stand up to Trevor's ex as well as to take home to his family. After Milo agrees to be Trevor's fake date he asks a series of questions all about limits, safe words and rules that he should follow. When Trevor winds up with a special surprise during a Secret Santa gift exchange, a surprise that has him whispering "Daddy," things go from fake to real in an instant.

This was a sweet story and connected two men who had secretly wanted each other from afar even if they thought that was never going to happen. I loved that they were from such different backgrounds and that both men were welcome in either of them. The way that Milo looked after Trevor was quite endearing and must have increased his self-confidence. Well written and so easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story containing mature content.

Jakub: An MM Age Play Christmas Romance

Jakub: An MM Age Play Christmas Romance by Joe Satoria
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Jakub Wade is a little who yearns for his own Daddy and just hopes that this Christmas he will get one of his own. When a mysterious parcel arrives containing a gorgeous plush brown teddy bear he is so happy until he looks at the paperwork and realises it wasn't meant for him. Determined to stop someone from missing out on such a wonderful bear he takes it back to the shop and Chester Hanson who is resigned to a belief that love is only temporary then he witnesses Jakub's pure joy and heart-melting smile. Drawn to Jakub he decides that his mission is to keep that smile alive and so showers him with gift after thoughtful gift. As the Christmas seasons developed they had their miracle in a teddy bear tea party that sparks a connection deeper than they ever thought possible. After the holidays can their love develop into something so much more?

This was a sweet story although I did wonder how well Jakub managed to be adult enough to do all the work around his YouTube channel and even something as normal as feeding himself. I loved the way that Chester was a perfect Daddy and that the ladies in the back room who made the teddies were able to make Jakub's dreams come true by helping to fix his first teddy for him. This was easy to read and gave you a good feeling for the holidays. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Juniper Evergreen by Kota Quinn 3 of 5 stars

Juniper Evergreen

Juniper Evergreen by Kota Quinn
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Juniper (June) lost his landscaping job and his boyfriend of six years at the same time when he was thirty-six and so he is back home and sleeping on his Mum's old sofa. He looks for a job and ends up as a mall elf in a crazy costume over Christmas trying to avoid the sexy photographer who looks more like a supermodel. Alec and June had one night together but when he realises that June if living on his Mum's sofa and it is giving him a bad back his dominant and protective side flares up and he offers him a place to stay in his spare room. As if June isn’t distracting enough with his larger body, sexy tattoos, and love for Christmas movies, now they're roommates, and he's so freaking tempting.

This was a sweet Christmas tale of two men connecting and falling in love as they started as co-workers who then became roommates as well. I loved the way that Alec was such a great caregiver for June and made sure that he was safe and healthy. I loved how the truth about June's ex was clear once he was out of that relationship and that both Alec and June's family were so entwined already around the holidays. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Jingle

Jingle by Morgan Lysand
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It's Christmas time and Shae can't wait to slide into his Jingle elf persona for a few weeks at the Frostdale Mall. The costumes, scents, bright laughter and his friends all keep him going for the rest of the year, What he didn't anticipate was his world-changing when his best friend moves home after being away for eight long years. Trace has just one goal in mind since his family moved away from Frostdale and that is to go back. Now he has saved up enough money after college he can go back just in time for Christmas. He doesn't expect to see Shae as anything other than his best friend but when they are back together sparks fly and he can't help but realise he wants something more.

This was such a sweet story with the two best friends who were destined to be together they just needed to grow up and mature into the men that we read about in this book. This was a beautiful example of the best friends-to-lovers trope as these two men loved each other deeply it just needed to move to another type of love. The supporting cast of characters was fun too. Easy to read, feel and understand I felt their excitement when they were reunited again. This is an MM story with mature content.

Hope for the Holidays

Hope for the Holidays by Felicity Snow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Everest Jones lost his wife and love of his life two Christmases ago and he has had a hard time coping ever since. He feels like he is drowning in grief while he tries to raise their three young kids while barely managing to make ends meet. He is exhausted, overwhelmed, depressed and lonely. Teacher Levi Washington is 25 and moved to Arizona to make a fresh start after losing his parents and partner in a road crash a few years ago. Running into his student and her family at the school’s trunk or treat event turns his world upside down when he finds himself instantly attracted to the handsome single father. Everest is determined to keep Levi at bay, and Levi has to do everything he can to convince the older man that he is what Levi wants, despite his pain and insecurities. That the two of them just might be what the other needs to help make each other whole.

I enjoyed this novella with the two men at different stages of grief who understand perfectly how things are and the friendship they developed. I loved the involvement of the kids and Everest's family to persuade him that Levi was very necessary and that they could be together. I loved the way that Levi stepped in when Everest had a family emergency and how he handled everything proving that he really could be the other half of Everest's soul. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content. If you suffer from grief like Everest please talk to someone and seek help.

Review: Stroker by K.M. Neuhold 4 of 5 stars

Stroker (Big Bull Mechanics #2)

Stroker by K.M. Neuhold
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Steele's best friend Tallahassee married his little brother Gates eight years ago before Gates left and broke his heart. Steele has no idea. When Gates shows up needing a place to stay TYal immediately offers his spare room and is determined to stay away from him. Gates starts to try to get a rise out of Tal tie-dying his clothes, removing his bedroom door and replacing hand soap with lube. When Gates tells Tal his Stroker Rod is broken he gets hands-on with the problem. Surely they can have a physical relationship and not bring in emotions?

I enjoyed this story with the two men who loved each other but Gates was struggling with his ADHD which caused him to not stick with anything and he didn't feel he was good enough for Tal. There was just so much passion between these two men they just needed the right time to be able to remain together and be happy. The charade with Steele was funny and I was so pleased that Steele's partner Porter was able to make him accept and understand that it was ok. Easy to read, follow and understand there were lots of emotions here, especially around the operation Gates had to have. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Complete Father Series by Morticia Knight 5 of 5 stars

The Complete Father Series

The Complete Father Series by Morticia Knight
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This trilogy follows two men and their relationship with each other. Seth was brought up in a very conservative Christian church and as soon as they discovered he was gay he became evil and a sinner. He was sent repeatedly to a special camp to fix him as he was a deviant but eventually, he was able to run away and escape. Malcolm was a good Daddy for almost ten years until his boy died and left him brokenhearted. Instead, he avoids clubs, and old friends and is unable to find a purpose in his lonely existence. On yet another night in a dive bar, he witnesses a sacred young man being harassed by two bullies and it jolts him into action - no one messes with someone vulnerable and helpless on his watch. Malcolm starts on their journey of love, healing and redemption.

I adored this story with the abused boy who thought he was evil thanks to his conditioning and grieving Daddy Malcolm who realised that he could love again and that caring for Seth was something he needed to do. I loved going through their joint journey as they found trust, affection, love and forever. There were desperately sad moments and your heart just broke for Seth and the abuse he had experienced but there were moments of humour (like when Seth first visited Malcolm's parents). Easy to read, feel and understand you will cry at times. This is an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like Daddy/boy relationship with some light D/s.

Dear Daddy, Please Keep Me (Naughty or Nice, #7)

Dear Daddy, Please Keep Me by Morticia Knight
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Eric uses the Cuffd letter to Santa promotion to write a letter asking for one or two Daddies as he is always accused of being so needy. Friends and one-time lovers. The two men who respond together are Clint and Dalton who love each other and have tried a relationship but it would never work as they are both Daddies. Could Eric be the boy for them?

This was a sweet story full of the Christmas spirit. Eric was adorable and airline pilot Clint and Developer Dalton were just perfect for him and each other. I loved the way they were supportive of him in his career and gave advice when asked for it but were careful to never decide in a high-handed way. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MMM story with mature content and some very light BSDM-like behaviour.

Review: Without Respect by Brina Brady 4 of 5 stars

Without Respect (Mobsters’ Gay Sons, #1)

Without Respect by Brina Brady
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Benito Banetti is the youngest son of an Italian mobster and is gay. His father would never let him be in an openly gay relationship. Ben intends to change that and find a man whom he wants but when it turns out the man he wants is the son of a family enemy his father gives him an ultimatum to either marry his female cousin, and all is forgotten, or if he is with Mishka Chernov, a Russian mobster, he will disown him. Mishka took over the family business out of love and respect for his father but he realises he is not suitable for the top spot in the family. He meets a beautiful man at a sleazy brand when he finds out who he is he still wants him even with the problems he would cause his family’s business. Mishka wants the same freedom and separation from the family business that Ben has.

I loved this story with Ben struggling under an autocratic father who hated that he was gay and Mishka who was mesmerised by Ben and then in love with him fairly quickly. I loved Mishka's father who loved him accepting his sexuality and was willing to accept Ben into his family. Lots of politics in the large family but a lot of love too. I was heartbroken after their misunderstanding but thrilled when they worked it out. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and elements of BSDM-like D/s activities.

Crankshaft (Big Bull Mechanics #1)

Crankshaft by K.M. Neuhold
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Steele is a busy man running his garage of mechanics and sometimes bailing out his brother so the last time he has is a relationship. Too many times he has tried and it always fails to the point it is a running joke in the garage so no more boyfriends. Porter is the local veterinarian and as the one vet at his practice he works crazy hours as many times as they meet up, Porter constantly falls asleep drunk or exhausted in Steele's bed even if he looks cute with oil smears as Steele teaches him how to fix up the vintage car he has rusting away in his garage. Can they remain as just friends who occasionally fiddle with each other's crankshaft?

I enjoyed this start to the series where we met Steele and Porter as they started their relationship. I loved the way that Steele looked after Porter even though he was insisting they were not in a relationship. I loved the way that they were in love with each other well before they admitted it to themselves let alone each other. I thought that the Gates and Tallahassee situation was a little too prominent given that they are the subject of the next book in the series. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Dasher by Lorelei M. Hart by Colbie Dunbar 3 of 5 stars

Dasher (Mated at the North Pole #1)

Dasher by Lorelei M. Hart by Colbie Dunbar
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Reindeer shifter Dasher is from a long line to pull Santa's Sleighs and it is an honour to lead the team each Christmas Eve. At other times there is nothing more fulfilling than teaching young shifters and getting all of the paperwork in place. He is exhausted and is informed he is on an enforced holiday. His friend finds him an all-inclusive resort for a great price and he imagines a beach and margaritas but discovers there is a mix-up and he is going to the mountains instead. Omega human Byron is working at his uncle’s dilapidated mountainside resort which is barely making ends meet after his employer folds. When a hot guy checks in he keeps it professional until a hiking accident changes everything.

This was a sweet story where a shifter found his mate and the spirit of Christmas was spread. I loved the details of the village in the North Pole and how the gift-making and Santa/Reindeer side of things worked. I loved the way that Dasher and Byron were able to find a compromise between their lives and the need to be in two locations. Easy to read, feel and understand. King is tired of this life but his attraction to Bryson grows stronger every day but is used to going unnoticed. Bryson does need King's protection but he has King live with him to keep him safe too and after spending months watching him King has now become an obsession. It doesn’t matter if they feel the same way. There’s still someone out there wanting him dead. Neither of them will be free as long as they always wonder if the other one is there because they have to be.

I loved this story of the two men who wanted each other from afar and how events conspired to throw them together to add some necessary intimacy to their relationship. I loved how Bryson's son was involved and loved King. When Beyson messed up I could have slapped him and so I was pleased when he made things right after a lecture from his son. Bauer (The K9 Files Book 22)

Bauer by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Staying in town is right for Bauer but Kat and Badger's matchmaking is something he could do without. When a mutual friend calls to say an injured War Dog was dropped off at her clinic only to be stolen during the night after performing surgery to repair his injured stumpBauer is all over the case. Mags always liked Bauer but ensured that personal relationships were short and sweet as commitments are often broken and the pain afterwards horrific. Bauer refuses to leave her in trouble and they share a love of animals. He is a hell of a package but is she willing to take the chance of being hurt again? The escalating danger surrounding Toby, her injured War Dog - catches Mags and Bauer in a web of risk that can only end one way.

I enjoyed this story with the web of players involved in the attempts to steal and ultimately kill Toby and the deepening friendship between Bauer and Mags. He is constantly exhausted as he tries to give everything and every one his attention - just not himself. When he takes a new job in a small town he is faced with new challenges - the move, his nosy family, a new routine and a gorgeous local mechanic who's quickly stealing his heart. Mechanic Jeff has three loves in life; his kids, his garage, and his classic car Louie. He’s yet to find a man who accepts he and his kids are a package deal. When friendship turns into an attraction that leads to a kiss, Jeff discovers Mark isn’t ready to be out. With one man out and proud and the other haunted by his past, will love be worth the risk?

Coffee, Cops, and Tattoos by Athena Steller
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Little Adam Carter is too large, busy and tired to find himself a Daddy. With his two best friends, school and work he is fine with how he is living his life. He just needs to be able to stop fantasising about the two men who have been there for him during darker times. Cop Nash Johnson has been looking for love in the wrong places and so is constantly told he is not worth keeping. Realising he needs a poly relationship should have been harder than finding what he wants until he sees Adam working in the coffee shop and is then introduced to the tattooed giant across the street. Lucas Van Blair hasn't been in town long since he opened his tattoo parlour when he noticed trouble at the Rocky Lake Coffee house. Being in the right place at the right time he saves three boys from an attack but that night changes everything for Lucas He's never considered having two partners at the same time but now he can't imagine not having Adam and Nash in his arms, heart, and bed.

I enjoyed this story with the cop who takes convincing that he is loved and will be wanted in the future, the little one who just needs to regress and have his Daddy and big brother care for him and Lucas who has love and caring to look after them both. Their relationship was very special and it was great to see them all happy in their dynamic and giving each other exactly what they needed. The resolution of some history for Adam was an interesting addition to the story and it was great to see that his happiness at home enabled him to face the past. Easy to read, feel and understand. The Christmas Mac-n-Cheese Mystery

The Christmas Mac-n-Cheese Mystery by M.A. Innes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Professor Ruslan knows that the best student organisation on campus is the Mac-n-Cheese Club not just because he is in charge of it but because he is also a little and an expert in mac-n-cheese. As the holidays approached he found a new reason to love the club - his new Secret Santa. Dante knows the best student organisation on campus is the Mac-n-Cheese Club because it lets him get closer to the most adorable little ever who is clueless at licking up flirting and so he has to have the help of the heavy hitter - Santa. When a rigged game of Secret Santa helps a little open his eyes, it’ll take mac-n-cheese and a little romance to bring a stubborn cutie out of his shell.

I loved this story with Ruslan being so focused on being big in his working life that he wasn't good at picking up queues and that he was very careful to be little in private or with his close friends where the Daddy was nice enough to help him when it was needed. Rusland was so cute and Ddante was really good at pushing his buttons in a way that I was surprised he was able to think clearly at all. I loved the ending of this story and would love to know what happens next to them. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and BDSM-like DDLB and D/s dynamics.

Review: An Alpha for Osvaldo by Allie W. Scott 3 of 5 stars

An Alpha for Osvaldo (Shelter Falls #2)

An Alpha for Osvaldo by Allie W. Scott
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Single Dad omega Osvaldo Aguilar lives life every day to day as he balances bills, school schedules and caring for his son Jonathan. Alpha Jerome Adler is desperate to find the man he had a one-night stand with eleven years ago and he has been searching for ever since. When he finally finds Ozzy it is not the alpha he thought but an omega - his Omega and even better they have a son. They can't get back the ten years that he missed but he is determined to stick around Shelter Falls to get to know his son and to get Ozzy to give their relationship a real chance as the passion they shared once is not a one-time deal.

This was a sweet instalove story where Ozzy and Jerome were able to become a family and have a real shot at true happiness with their son Jonathan. I loved the way that Ozzy's friends were very protective of him and that they had to work together to have the chance at a HEA. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Heart of St. Nick by A.D. Ellis 4 of 5 stars

The Heart of St. Nick

The Heart of St. Nick by A.D. Ellis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cheery and generous, Hayden Green keeps himself busy in a small railroad town in the hills of the Midwest helping others. He wishes for a tall, dark and handsome man to sweep him off his feet but that is unlikely in such a small town. Ck=losed off to emotions and connections, Gannon Snow has returned to his late grandfather's beloved holiday town to sell the old man's house and store which he inherited. He has a business to run and no time for feelings. To his annoyance, he gets caught up in nostalgia for his childhood and is mesmerised by a holiday helper. Hayden and Gannon shared an instant connection but Gannon isn't staying and Hayden isn't keen on a broken heart. However, maybe with holiday magic (even if Gannon is not a believer), the men find themselves in the middle of a small-town Christmas romance.

This was a really sweet story which will pull at the heartstrings as Gannon is forced to confront his feelings, his past and his future as they spend time together learning more about each other, themselves and Gannon's grandfather. I loved the holiday magic and the way it intervened as well as Gannon's assistant who was creative with her interventions. A sweet story with lots of analysis of emotions, thoughts and feelings. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Once Upon a Christmas House by A.D. Ellis 4 of 5 stars

Once Upon a Christmas House

Once Upon a Christmas House by A.D. Ellis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ivyrson (Ivy) is a scrooge when it comes to the holidays but the chance of winning enough money to do up his house (known as the Christmas House) is a large enough incentive for him to take part in a holiday-themed reality game on TV, Emory has crushed on his older brother's best friend for years and the chance to help Ivy and he doesn't hesitate. Living together and pretending to be a couple means getting to know each other on a new level, the question is can they continue the viewing audience that their fake relationship deserves to win? Or will Ivy and Emory get swept up in the holiday magic and find themselves falling in love for real?

This was a sweet story with grumpy Ivy and cheery Emory and a conversion to a reason to love the holidays. I liked Emory and his constant optimism as well as his determination to introduce Ivy to Holiday decorations slowly over time. They were the perfect couple they just needed Ivy to work out his issues around their relationship and that Emory was his best friend's little brother. Easy to read, feel and understand. I loved the snow globe. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Dirty Daddies 2023 Anniversary Anthology by Laylah Roberts by Pepper North by Golden Angel 4 of 5 stars

Dirty Daddies 2023 Anniversary Anthology

Dirty Daddies 2023 Anniversary Anthology by Laylah Roberts by Pepper North by Golden Angel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great collection of Daddy stories that is well worth the cost. I particularly liked these stories:

Marnie's Champion by Laylah Robers - Marnie stayed in her cousin's room while he was away after escaping an abusive ex. Roommate Deke became the Daddy she wanted after some false starts and overcoming his doubts.

Bound to the DA Vivian Murdock - Omega Rosalind is matched with Alpha Michael who was the DA in her ex's case but from a position that she could not trust him or be with him she learnt that he was not the same and that he was the perfect Daddy for her.

All books contain mature content and BDSM-like DDLG or DDLB dynamics some with pet play.

Review: Blue Skies by Nic Starr 4 of 5 stars

Blue Skies (Collier's Creek)

Blue Skies by Nic Starr
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When writer Kit arrives at Collier's Creek he is looking for a change of scenery and solitude to move past his writer's block. He has a novel to finish and that has to be his priority. Felix was born in Collier's Creek and had no plans to return but after a nasty breakup, he decides to help a friend by managing the coffee shop. Felix is drawn to the mysterious older man who says he wants nothing more than conversation. Now he needs to convince Kit to ignore the town gossip about their age gap and theories about his past. If Felix has his way, they’ll find the happy ending they’ve both been searching for.

I enjoyed this story of the elusive author and the younger man who is drawn to him and their growing friendship before something more physical. I enjoyed the way that Felix cared for Kit by feeding him and making sure that he was secure and comfortable in his cabin. I was so pleased when they got their HEA at the end. It was a real romance with all the feels. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Patience by Lark Taylor 5 of 5 stars

Patience (Damned Connections, #1)

Patience by Lark Taylor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ferry had been known by many names - Ferryman. The Grim Reaper. La Muerte. La Pelona. Shinigami. Charon as he ferried dead souls over the river Styx in Hell. Few know that he sacrificed his freedom to save his mate's soul. But he is now free to look for him but there is a problem as he doesn't remember him and he is straight. Leo was once madly in love with Ferry = can that happen again before it is too late? For Leo, he has always felt as if something is missing from his life and that even his job as a firefighter, his brother or ex-girlfriends have never been able to fill the hole. When a mysterious stranger approaches him in a bar he is captivated even though he has never been attracted to a man but it feels right.

I enjoyed this story as The Reckless Damned series by the same author featured Ferry and I wanted to know more about him and why he was in Hell. I loved the backstory and the way that Ferry was respectful in his approach to Leo (even though he did make sure that the other demons knew who Leo was to him so that he could be protected). I loved their relationship and the way that they both protected the other so that it was more equal. Easy to read, feel and understand I was totally behind this couple wanting them to be safe, happy and have a chance at the HEA they deserved. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Embracing the Storm by Carly Marie 3 of 5 stars

Embracing the Storm

Embracing the Storm by Carly Marie
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Spencer and Greyson have been married for fifteen years and have two children but when they go to the DASH kink club together Spencer questions everything he thought that he knew about his husband. Greyson has always been submissive but when he discovered age play everything missing slot together and when a Littles Night is announced at the club he makes sure that they go as he has no idea how to tell Spencer how he feels. Running into acquaintances wasn't part of the plan but when it isn't just age plan that Greyson is drawn to he has a burning question - do dragons exist and what will Spencer think? With a snowstorm on the way, there's no better time to find out.

I enjoyed this story but it was a little dry in places because it lacked emotional details and in-depth discussion of feelings (which I felt was necessary for such an important thing). I did like that Spencer took it on beard and did whatever he could to help Greyson explore his new side. I also wondered at the ease and regularity of them palming off their children to family. Easy to read and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and BDSM-like D/s, DDLB and pet play.

Review: Snuggle Bug by Aster Rae 4 of 5 stars

Snuggle Bug: A Sugary Sweet MM Daddy Romance by Aster Rae
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Calloway is almost nineteen and a Little and he loves it when his Daddy Greyson cares for him but he is keen to take the next step with him and Greyson insists he is not old enough. One night, Greyson takes him into the cuddle room where they hold each other, talk openly and honestly, and snuggle all night. When he pleads his case, he hopes Greyson still agrees to be his.

I enjoyed this story which was all about feelings and emotions and how they can be handled if only they communicate well and talk freely and openly. I thought starting a sexual relationship was a great subject to use in this book. There were times when I could have happily given either of them a hug. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story containing a little mature content and with a BSDM-like DDLB relationship.

Review: Surprise Play by Carly Marie 4 of 5 stars

Surprise Play

Surprise Play by Carly Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Malcolm Ward is a retired wide receiver, NFL offensive line coach, and husband to Ryder who is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. His life is hectic and the last thing he expects is to walk into the bedroom one afternoon to find his husband sleeping with the pacifier Malcolm had jokingly given him a decade before. Ryder never intended to let his husband know that the pacifier had become one of his most cherished possessions and certainly not talk about or let him see him using it. When he wakes up after a nap he finds his Malcolm home early and finds him using it. Malcolm quickly discovers something Ryder has missed his entire life. How does he get his husband to believe that far from hating his pacifier, Malcolm is ready to be the Daddy Ryder didn’t know he needed?

This was a sweet story as Malcolm discovered that his husband was a Little, what that was and what a Daddy did for their Little. I loved the way that Malcolm threw himself into seeking knowledge and then sorting out their home so that they had the things that Ryder needed - toys, plates, a sippy cup and Liitle-friendly food. The depth of their love for each other made this something that they could both do. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

** Please note that Surprise Play was released as part of the 2020 Dirty Daddies Anthology. This version has been re-edited and has had approximately 12k words added throughout the book.

Review: Truck Me Daddy by Lana Kyle 2 of 5 stars

Truck Me Daddy (Blue Collar Boys, #2)

Truck Me Daddy by Lana Kyle
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The Blue Collar Boys is a construction company with macho construction workers who are Littles. Mikey is the truck driver who drives a big ruck collecting all sorts of materials for their building projects. Mikey craves a Daddy of his own to bathe, change and even spank him when needed. He just needs to find one. Surfer Trent Thomas is sexy as hell but doesn't want all the little boys he has played with in the past - he wants someone just like Mikey to have as his forever boy. The spark between them is electric and they share the same kinks too. But will our busy lifestyles allow them to finally find our Forever Love together?

This was a sweet story but it didn't have much detail, there wasn't much time for them to get to know each other and their problems seemed to be so quick and easy to fix - I expected more discussion around it. It was just too simplistic. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic.

Review: Luck of the Devil by Lark Taylor 5 of 5 stars

Luck of the Devil (The Reckless Damned #4)

Luck of the Devil by Lark Taylor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Demon Dagon has loved angel Dimitri for decades but their relationship just doesn't work no matter how hard they try as they are both dominant. When Dimitri tells Dagon he has met their human mate he finds it hard to get his head around the fact that they need a third to make their relationship work. With Hell knocking at the door and an uprising threatening us all, can we persuade human Lucky to give us a chance before it’s too late? First, they have to solve the problem as to who is hurting Lucky and then persuade him to give them both a chance before he does his usual thing and runs.

This was a great finale to the series and I loved that Dagon and Dimitri finally had the missing piece so that they could be happy together forever. Lucky was perfect for them both and it was beautiful to experience these three men being happy together. The final battle between the brothers and Hell was interesting and I felt that their mates came into their own as they coped with the special entertainment arranged for them. Easy to read, feel and understand I could easily see their happiness in front of them. This is an MMM story with mature content.

Review: Deal With the Devil by Lark Taylor 5 of 5 stars

Deal With the Devil (The Reckless Damned, #3)

Deal With the Devil by Lark Taylor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Demon Mori loved a human once and losing him almost killed him and he's waiting now for his fated mate to appear. When a nervous human brokers a deal to find his brother he can't refuse as even though he no longer tracks River makes him want to try as a distraction waiting for his mate. It becomes clear that River is not all he seems to be and Mori can't deny the attraction between them but Mori is not in a position to promise forever so doesn't go there. Mage River realises that making a deal with a son of Lucifer to track his brother is not a great idea when he is currently at the top of Mori's hit list. But he is out of options and as Blaise's death creeps closer each day he has to save him. Mori is everything River wants in a partner but he is not his mated mate even if he could move past his deception.

I really enjoyed this story with the Demon helping a defenceless human find his brother, the Mage who is pretending to be human to get his help and the push and pull as they had the deception and the fated mate issue hanging between them. I loved the way that they were able to sneak into each other's homes as the wards wouldn't stop a fated mate from going in there. Lots of fire and passion between them and yet they were perfect for each other. Easy to read, understand and feel their emotions. This is an MM story with mature content with some use of ropes.

Review: Subbing for Christmas: A Second Chance Gay Romance by G.R. Lyons 3 of 5 stars

Subbing for Christmas: A Second Chance Gay Romance

Subbing for Christmas: A Second Chance Gay Romance by G.R. Lyons
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Adam Barnes left his hometown and his broken heart behind him years ago. But now an old bandmate needs his help, an opportunity that Adam can't pass up. He rushes off to Idaho, telling himself there's no reason to be anxious. John Cunningham hates going home for Christmas. The small Idaho town holds too many memories of the love he left behind. He makes his usual reservation at a B&B, thinking there will be no chance of running into Adam or his angelic voice.
When he arrives, Adam learns the accommodations he was promised are non-existent, and there's nowhere else to go. Far from home and with no other options, John and Adam opt to share a room.
But there's only one bed. And no matter their painful history, the attraction is still there. Will they give in to temptation with what little time they have? Or will past hurts haunt them forever?

I liked this story of the history between the two and the way that they came together after correcting their assumptions from years ago. I enjoyed the way that John was very respectful of Adam's trans status and that it didn't stop them from being together physically. Lots of discussions of feelings and assumptions in this story and I was thrilled when they got a HEA. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an M/FTM story with mature content.

Review: Devil May Care by Lark Taylor 4 of 5 stars

Devil May Care (The Reckless Damned, #2)

Devil May Care by Lark Taylor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Demon Harlow wasn't thinking about finding his fated mate and tying himself down for eternity. The first time he meets gentle Welsh giant Bailey and knows he is the one only for them to share a kiss and then for Bailey to reject him. So instead Harlow has to watch him from the shadows. In a different approach, he builds a friendship with him thinking that being his friend is better than nothing. A clan of mages are looking for trouble and so he has to protect Bailey. Bailey thinks that no one will stay and that he doesn't deserve anyone (and especially someone as gorgeous as Harlow). As they get closer Bailey knows that Harlow is holding something from him- how can he trust him if he doesn't explain what he is hiding?

I enjoyed this story with the confidence issues, the secrets and the trust between them both. I loved that Harlow did everything he could to stay in Bailey's life and would have stayed as his friend if that was all that was possible. It's become apparent that the demon brothers are possessive and will stalk and protect their mates. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.

Review: Gift for a Demon by Emily Alter 4 of 5 stars

Gift for a Demon (Possessive Love)

Gift for a Demon by Emily Alter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Human Dave was given as a gift to the dethroned King of Hell. He had to learn how to protect himself and fight his own battles. Melchom had once ruled over Hell until a human betrayed and stole his throne. He is now the Hell Paymaster and had vowed not to make the same mistakes but how could he say no to the most enticing man he had ever seen who freely offered up his fear for Melchom to feast on? It’s not an issue of chemistry. Hell is a complex ecosystem, and there are more forces and prophecies in place than either of them could’ve ever foreseen.

I enjoyed this story with the kink where Melchom could scare Dave who was quite willing to be scared and give it as a gift. I loved the tolerant and affectionate manner that Melchom adopted with Dave and the way that he tried to protect him from the elements that were causing him real distress. There is a lot of sexual content in this story. Easy to read and understand. This is an MM story with a list of kinks and content warnings at the start of the book.

Review: Devil's Mark by Lark Taylor 5 of 5 stars

Devil's Mark (The Reckless Damned, #1)

Devil's Mark by Lark Taylor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Demon Cal and his brothers turned their backs on Hell over a hundred years ago with no intention of returning, but they seem to be tired of waiting for them to return. Cal's father is demanding he return to hell and a demon is leaving dead bodies in his bookshop to get his attention. He has never been interested in having a relationship with a human before but with just one look into Oscar's broken eyes, he is in trouble. Oscar has been hurt before and whilst everything in Cal tells him to keep him safe being with him also puts him in more danger. Is he strong enough to walk away? Oscar escaped his last relationship with broken bones and an anxiety disorder. His world revolves around his classroom, flat and best friend but when fate puts Cal in his path he appears too good to be true looking like someone from his fantasies. Even Oscar's baggage doesn't scare him. Plhe is a demon, but he has dealt with scarier. Having broken before can he let down his barriers to let Cal in?

I loved this story with the drama of the demon leaving the bodies in the bookshop, the demands that Cal goes back to Hell and Oscar and his abusive ex who deserves to rot in Hell. I loved the sensitive way that Cal handled Oscar's anxiety attacks and that he took the time to investigate the best ways to handle them. Their whole relationship was just beautiful with a dose of scary when it came to Oscar's ex. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.
