Review: Tentacles and Other Stocking Stuffers by Delaney Rain 3 of 5 stars

Tentacles and Other Stocking Stuffers

Tentacles and Other Stocking Stuffers by Delaney Rain
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When bar manager Sam Litchfield got home from work he saw something had crash-landed in his backyard which he assumed was the meteor the radio had been talking about. What he found was a three-foot-tall alien with tentacles for arms and a broken spaceship. Sam helped Bhanzier get out of the cold and start repairs on his ship. Soon it becomes clear that Bhanzier likes being in charge, Sam likes that too and tentacles can get into lots of fun places. Sam starts to wish Bhanzier didn't ever have to leave. But two FBI agents think they know something crashed in Sam's backyard, and then Sam remembers that he signed up for the Holiday Homes Tour with judges who want to come inside, too. Sam's determined to keep Bhanzier safe from prying eyes. But is getting him back into space and losing him forever really the only way?

This was a sweet story with a cute little alien with some serious tentacle skills and Sam who loved Christmas and was fiercely protective of those he cared about. I thought the ending was a little convenient and abrupt but I was still pleased that it had a happy ending. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Review: The Demon's Dealbreaker by Delaney Rain 3 of 5 stars

The Demon's Dealbreaker (Possessive Love)

The Demon's Dealbreaker by Delaney Rain
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Dwyer Eamonn’s parents did a deal with a variety of supernatural for their firstborn and suddenly on his twenty-first birthday, they all turn up to collect. So he suddenly faces a witch, two fairies, a minor god and four demons are there to make him their heir. So Dwyer needs to choose which one by spending eight hours with each of them to work out what they actually do all day. One of them draws him utterly but choosing an heir means these people want to shuffle off their mortal coil, is love reason enough to make one of them stay? After all, they’ll have forever once Dwyer makes his choice.

This was a complex tale as Dwyer navigated between the supernatural beings working out who he wanted to become the heir to. I did like the final solution but it was a bit torturous to get there and felt a little muddled with the merging that happened sometimes. I'm wondering if there were just a few too many supernatural creatures involved hence why it felt as if he skipped some of them. This is an MM story with mature content.
