Max was intending to go to an ivy league college after graduating high school but then discovers she is a witch and everything changes - she is now going to a witch's academy. There it is very similar to the outside world - she encounters bullies, cliques, sexy bad boys and discovers that it is not as easy as she might have thought and that magic comes with a price - one she is not sure if she is prepared to pay.
I loved this story and the way it developed from Max being normal into Max the student witch. It was great to see that all colleges are the same - mean girls are the same the world over and if you are not prepared to conform you might pay the price. It was very well told and I could feel the frustration and difficulty she was having as part of her switch to a completely new way of life. I really hope she has a better time in the next book.
