Christian used his army career to hide from his nasty parents who are part of the plot against the LGBTQ+ community and the Royal family seeking to depose them and restore the "proper£ order of things. He is now resolved to do whatever it takes to save his cousins and uncle even if he has to tolerate their bigotry in order to become a double agent spying on them. But when he finally loses it with his family and blurts out that he is bisexual he did not expect them to throw him out. Oscar owns a two-storey building containing a combined coffee shop, library and bookstore. He is so happy when he is working and putting his dreams into reality. When Prince Christian becomes a regular Oscar tries to stop himself from being so nervous around him but the man looks like a god who is haunted and so he notices when Christian is nearing breaking point but is not sure what to do about it - after all does he really want to become part of his family and have the same problems? How can he be persuaded to become involved when it affects those who Christian loves?
I loved this story. It had so much danger and drama at times while also being interspersed with great amounts of joy too. There were definitely some moments of heartbreak but with Oscar's help, Christian got through them. It was great to see the family come together and support each other in some times of great need. I was thrilled at how this story finished and was mightily relieved when Christian had some stable happiness in his life as up to then it was full of so much uncertainty and pain. Easy to read and understand I was completely swept away by all the drama and their budding relationship. This book contains some D/S behaviours and MM sexual encounters.
