Review: Brad by Pepper North 3 of 5 stars

Brad (Dr. Richards' Littles #6)

Brad by Pepper North
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

ICU nurse Brad walked home after work past the gates of the Burmingham estate and used to stop and talk to the guard dogs. Thorston Burmingham doesn't quite know what to make of the caring young man who stops outside the gates of his estate but he soon starts to pursue Brad with single-minded determination. Brad quickly learns that the strict man could be the Daddy that he has dreamed of for years.

I quite liked this story in which the older man and younger man who on the face of it appeared to be too different but actually fit together quite well. I liked the way that they tried to fit into each other's working lives and that it was possible. Easy to read and understand. Contains MM BDSM DDLB relationship.

Review: Angelina by Pepper North 3 of 5 stars

Angelina (Dr. Richards' Littles #5)

Angelina by Pepper North
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Moving to a new town and managing a restaurant gave her the chance to meet a handsome older man who swept her into a world that she thought was just fiction. Paul had been a Daddy before but his Little had died and so he was resigned to never having a Little again, but when he met a beautiful young woman called Angelina and felt a spark with her he wondered if she was there to give him a second chance at being a Daddy.

I enjoyed this story with Paul being given the hope that he could be a Daddy again and the way that Angelina was working so hard, it was nice to see the happiness in them both when they came together as a couple. Easy to read and understand. This book contains mature content around a BDSM DDLG relationship.

Review: Untamed Daddy by Laylah Roberts 3 of 5 stars

Untamed Daddy (MC Daddies Book, #4)

Untamed Daddy by Laylah Roberts
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Jacob Reyes had tragedy in his past and that has made him into the strong, possessive and dominant man that he is today. He never lets people close until she meets sassy Emme while on a mission with the Fox and then she is his Little and his everything although he is still not sure if he deserves her.

I really enjoyed this story which filled in more blanks around the MC members and their women, but it also raised some new questions which I assume will be answered in later books in the series. I liked the interaction between Emme and Reyes and the way that she pushed his buttons and constantly knocked him out of his normal behaviour and thinking. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content with a BDSM DDLG relationship.

Review: Love Scene by Elouise East 4 of 5 stars

Love Scene (Crush, #8)

Love Scene by Elouise East
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lawyer Samuel enjoys being one so that he can help people, but he is under a huge amount of stress and his cheating ex-husband keeps bothering him at work most days. Actor Eric has a lot on his plate, but when he finds a Little who needs him he just can't help but step in. Giving Samuel the experience of having a Daddy gives Eric more pleasure than anything. When Eric needs to return to a job abroad he has a predicament as it leaves Samuel without a Daddy to care for him. It goes against Eric's instincts, but he believes Samuel when he says that he is fine. However, doing that is wrong and there will be a wave that will ripple through both of their lives and will cause one to make the ultimate sacrifice.

I really enjoyed this story with the stresses that surrounded Samuel, the stresses that surrounded Eric, their beautiful relationship and the explosion of emotions that culminated in their change in circumstances. It was interesting to explore their emotions and feelings in this book and see how they affected the way that they behaved. I loved the purity of their love and the way that they quickly became dependent on each other. Easy to read and understand. There was mature content in this MM story of a BDSM DDLB relationship.

Review: Protector Daddy by Laylah Roberts 3 of 5 stars

Protector Daddy (MC Daddies #3)

Protector Daddy by Laylah Roberts
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Millie had been responsible and had never left her small town until she had a mission to conduct a murder investigation and had to travel to the city. He had no idea how ill-equipped she was until half of the city's underworld was gunning for her. Spike was a gruff and sexy biker and was the only person standing between her and the bad guys. To Spike she was a menace, a klutz, adorable and a Little in need of a watchful and protective Daddy - could he get himself sorted out and make sure that she was his?

I enjoyed this story with the strange Little that was Millie, the reluctant Daddy who also wouldn't let anyone near her, and the way that they fit together very well with their very strong contrast. I love the way that the books in this series can be read separately but also have a common thread or two that make them all work together. It was easy to read and understand. I could feel the thoughts and emotions of the characters. Contains a mature BDSM DDLG relationship.

Review: Covert Strength by Elouise East 4 of 5 stars

Covert Strength (Crush, #7)

Covert Strength by Elouise East
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Zak was a single father who was trying to find a balance between his son, his business and his friends. When he was feeling lonely he allowed himself a one-night stand with ex-Army officer Kenzo but one night wasn't enough. Kenzo liked to help everyone but he didn't help his best friend when he needed him most and so he was even more obsessed with helping friends. So Kenzo kept his roommate's secret and almost destroyed his burgeoning relationship with Zak. Can they find some way to share trust and information in order to find a way to move forward together?

I liked this story and the way that it showed that we all have trauma in our lives, not just military veterans. It was also a good lesson in the need for honesty and communication in any relationship. I loved their way of protecting those they loved and the way that Zak's son Dane was important and central to them both. It was great to see that teamwork was important and that it could be a team of friends, colleagues or even strangers. Easy to read and understand. I could feel their hesitancy, confusion, and love. Contains mature MM content.

Review: Submit by Tana Stone 2 of 5 stars

Submit (The Sky Clan of the Taori, #1)

Submit by Tana Stone
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Human Lia was abducted by space slavers and was sold to an alien species that put her on an immersive entertainment moon to be hunted and bedded at their leisure. Torst is a Taori warrior who crash-landed on the moon and who intervenes to save Lia from an attack. Then not only does he have to protect her going forward but he is also suffering from a mating fever curse common to his species and the strange stirrings within. Soon he is fighting off the uncontrollable urge to claim Lia as his mate. Can they both survive, can Torst find his crewmates and will they become mates?

I struggled with this story. I found the premise a bit too strange and the interaction between Torst and Lia was a little wooden and stilted. I did finish the book but it was difficult. Contains mature content.

Hero Daddy (MC Daddies #2)

Hero Daddy by Laylah Roberts
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ink's life has been charmed if you consider his family, his brothers in the Iron Shadows MC and his thriving business. But one major thing is missing - he wants to settle down but he wants someone to pamper, protect, Dominate and discipline - a Little he can cherish. Then he meets sweet, shy Batsy who is very naive and gentle but he just cannot stop thinking about her - the question is if fate put her into his path where is the usual negative that goes with all of that positive?

I enjoyed this story with the real reason that Ink and Betsy met, the way that she pushed to try and help him, the way that the MC members united to help and the resolution to the problem. It was a story with drama, danger, intrigue and lots of fun times too. Contains mature content which features a BDSM DDLG relationship.

Review: Alpha Geek: Levi by Milly Taiden 4 of 5 stars

Alpha Geek: Levi

Alpha Geek: Levi by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wolf shifter Hannah Tyson works for Nick in the shifter protection agency and likes to be thought of as a "lone wolf" as it is far more predictable than any human interaction. But when Nick offers her a great case she is happy to leave her sanctuary. The client Levi is really different from what she expected - could love be something for her after all? Tech genius and human Levi Sandoval is trying to create a legacy outside of his father's shadow but he never realised that creating drones would put him in the sights of vigilantes. Needing a bodyguard he was not prepared for it to be a gorgeous badass woman. Can Hannah trust the fated mate instinct when Levi after a fatal injury is helped by the serum into a big, bad alpha tiger he wants to claim his mate as well as take on the bad guys head-on will she join him?

I enjoyed this story with the new drone technology, the fated mate scenario, the doubts, the serum use and the dramatic way that everything ended. Levi was definitely one of the really nice people in the world and it was great to see that he could change course when things weren't just for good. Easy to read and understand, there was mature content as well as some light violence.

Review: Her Montana Master by Maren Smith 3 of 5 stars

Her Montana Master (Stateside Doms, #1)

Her Montana Master by Maren Smith
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Madden Briggs has known Clover Harris since she was two and loved her since she was twelve. She is also his best friend's little sister. She was abandoned by her father and ignored by her mother and so he has always been there for her. Then she lost everything and was cast out of her home with nothing. When she runs to him this time he is through being her big brother as his dominant can see she is the perfect submissive. She wants a job; so he hires her. She needs money; he’ll let her earn it. She dreams about a car so she can leave this town forever; he’ll teach her how to drive. He'll even cope with a broken heart if she still wants to live the town. Can he cope with his addiction to her and in the end can he change her mind about leaving?

I enjoyed this story with the tortured attraction to each other, the trampled woman who needed to grow herself a backbone, and the way that he cared for her and then built her back up even with the risk that she would leave him. I was thrilled when she made the right choice at the dramatic end of the story. Easy to read and understand, this story features mature content with a BDSM D/s relationship.

Review: Motorcycle Daddy by Laylah Roberts 3 of 5 stars

Motorcycle Daddy (MC Daddies #1)

Motorcycle Daddy by Laylah Roberts
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sunny is a shy quiet Little who lives next door to Duke who is a biker. Duke barely notices her until one day when she becomes a convenient target for his bad mood. Afterwards, he feels bad about it and then starts to notice her in a completely different light. He has always wanted someone to care for and look after and so he decides that he needs to learn all about being a Daddy in order to care for her. Maybe she is everything he ever wanted?

I enjoyed this story with the gruff biker who found love with the Little next door. It was great to see how the bikers had a soft side and how they were determined to care for her. The drama of her injury and then later her kidnap was well described and I definitely felt the fear for her. Easy to read and understand, it was an enjoyable story. Review: Ruby's Forever Daddies by Kate Oliver 3 of 5 stars

Ruby's Forever Daddies (West Coast Daddies #6)

Ruby's Forever Daddies by Kate Oliver
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Ruby has been called a lot of things - a brat, too emotional, too needy and so she has given up on ever meeting anyone who would stick around. She has not given up on being a Little. When she discovers a club in her city where she can be Little without a Daddy she is thrilled until her desire to be a brat and push buttons brings her to the attention of the stern owners of the club. Maybe Ruby has met the two Daddies who won't give up on her? Jace and Zane know what it is - yes they own a blub that caters for Littles and Daddies and yes they have each other (after all they have been best friends since childhood), but they are missing a Little of their own to love, care for and discipline. Will they ever find someone who needs not just one, but two overprotective Daddies?

I was torn by this book - yes Ruby was a brat mostly due to her upbringing, but it was almost too much at times. I did love the contrast between the two styles of the friends and Daddies and how well they complimented each other. This was clearly written and easy to read and understand. Contains mature content of an MFM BDSM DDLG relationship.

Review: My Fluffy Mafia Daddy by Aster Rae 4 of 5 stars

My Fluffy Mafia Daddy (Italian Protectors #3)

My Fluffy Mafia Daddy by Aster Rae
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Benedetto Ferrari used to be a Daddy but his ex left him because he was too overweight, refused to eat his cooking and cheated on him. Since then he has been devoted to rescuing abandoned puppies until the day he rescues a 20-year-old man in an alley. He can't remember his own name, why he is there or why he is standing next to a dead body, but when Benedetto looks into his eyes he feels emotions he thought he was incapable of feeling ever again. His new charge confesses that he loves Benedetto's size and wants him to be his Daddy - determined to say no he actually finds that he is unable to turn him down.

This is the last book in the Italian Protectors trilogy and comes to a conclusion around Diabolo's warehouse. I loved the dramatic ending to this series which put all of the Littles from this trilogy in danger and that even some of the Daddies were damaged too. It was great to see that they did achieve the aims they had and that we found out so much more about Benedetto's boy. I loved their relationship and the way that he tried so hard to treat him with respect and go slow that he ended up having to respond to his boy's actions and decisions. This is an MM BDSM-like DDLB relationship story.

Trusting Her Daddy (West Coast Daddies #5)

Trusting Her Daddy by Kate Oliver
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Top-tier makeup artist Carly Sterling's brother believes she is in serious danger and so to please him she accepts the services of Damian Scott as her bodyguard, but she thinks he is the bossiest and has a controlling and overbearing self. He insists that she is a Little but she is in denial however he knows that even though she is a stubborn and mouthy brat she is also the one for him - he just needs to convince her. Carly has learned that it's not safe to show the hidden parts of herself - it always ends badly. Can she learn to trust Damian, not only to protect her but to care for her and love her?

I enjoyed this story with the stubborn and determined Carly and the tolerant but firm Damian they were definitely a match made in heaven. I loved the way that he and his staff were determined to keep her safe even though she still didn't appreciate the danger that she was in. A lovely ending to the story where she finally got everything. and appreciated what she was and had. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content of a BDSM DDLG nature.

Life Support (Crush, #6)

Life Support by Elouise East
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Paramedic Casey is having problems with a senior work colleague sexually harassing him and so he escapes into his ambulance. A friend suggests that he train with an expert in evasive tactics and so he signs up with Luke who knows his job is important although he feels he cannot compete with his siblings who are all lawyers, police officers and teachers. Casey is impatient to know everything at first and so it worries Luke when he cancels their sessions. They are thrown together through family and friends' events and they grow closer although Casey still thinks his approach of keeping it quiet is the best course of action. When the unthinkable happens to Casey. Who can help him and what happens afterwards?

** Trigger warning for sexual assault and consent issues. I really enjoyed this story with the tortured Casey, the strong but feeling inadequate Luke and how they found a way forward together. I loved the way that family and friends all came together to help and protect them both. It was easy to read, feel and understand the characters and the story in general. The assault and abuse were carefully told in a respectful manner. Contains mature MM content.

High School teacher Bethwyn Banfield is recently divorced and decides out of character to go into town and has an instant attraction to a tall, dark and tattooed stranger. Even so, their passion is off-the-charts hot as they run at night and rest during the day. FEATURED NEW RELEASE - The Lone Wolf's Rejected Mate (The Five Packs Book 3) by Cate C. Wells

#wolfpackreads #wolfpackbookbuzz #shifterbooks #shifterromance #romancebooks #fatedmatesromance

THE LONE WOLF’S REJECTED MATE, book 3 in the Five Packs series, goes live on Amazon and in Kindle Unlimited on December 26th.

(THE HEIR APPARENT’S REJECTED MATE, book 2, is FREE from December 26th through the 30th at this link đź ® https://mybook.to/heir-apparent

After one night, he walked away. He’s going to live to regret it.

Mari

Growing up alone in Quarry Pack, I always dreamed of a mate who’d sweep me off my feet and carry me away to our very own cottage that we’d fill with pups and love and laughter. A real family.

What I got?

Wham, bam, thank you ma’am.

The pack sees Darragh Ryan as a tortured hero with a dark past, protecting the pack from afar.

I know better. He’s a jerk who can’t deal with people so he’s chosen to live in the wilderness and—I don’t know—brood. One thing I do know is that he doesn’t get to reject me.

I reject him.

Darragh

Mari doesn’t understand what she doesn’t know. She’s naĂŻve, soft, and way too young and sweet for a life of self-imposed exile.

She’s a grown female who sits in trees, reading books, and wears party dresses to garden. Everything she owns is pink. Her wolf is probably pink.

She can’t handle the real world, and she sure can’t handle my wolf. No one can.

One day, she’ll understand why I won’t claim her, and she might not thank me, but she should.

Because my wolf? Given half a chance, he’d tear her apart.

The Lone Wolf’s Rejected Mate is the third novel in The Five Packs series, but it can be read as a standalone. No cheating. HEA guaranteed. Intended for adult readers only.

Review: Safe with Daddy by Kate Oliver 3 of 5 stars

Safe with Daddy (West Coast Daddies #4)

Safe with Daddy by Kate Oliver
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sean Corbin is still looking for his perfect Little - someone who will blossom and thrive under his careful nurturing while also being firm when he has to correct behaviour. Little Gabby Ellis came to Seattle to find something that might not exist. But when it is discovered that he is living in her car Sean is called on to offer the shy and anxious woman a safe place to stay. As Gabby grows closer to Sean she begins to wonder if everything is too good to be true as she knows that monsters don't always look like the monsters that they are. Can Sean teach her how to trust and allow him to take care of her in all of the ways that she needs? Will she find everything that she came to find or will she get much more than she came to search for?

I liked this story with the gentle Sean and the frighted and damaged Gabby. It was great to see them get through all of the problems and to see Sean do everything that he did in order to make her happy and improve the quality of her life. I loved seeing all of the friends that she had and that she really wasn't as alone as she often felt. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content and a BDSM-DDLG relationship.

A Crush for Christmas by Elouise East
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When Colton's father died his Mum returned to Cambridge in the UK leaving him to carry on with his life in New York. He has a happy life except for the fact that he only sees his Mum once a year at Christmas. During one visit he meets one of her carers Ioan who lights him up like a Christmas tree and makes the visit more special as he understands how Colton feels when his Mum doesn't recognise him. Ioan loves his job but his heart breaks every time he sees pain flare across Colton's eyes especially as he knows his time to visit in the UK is so short. When he gets the time to visit New York he miraculously bumps into Colton and tries to hide how happy he is to see him, The more time they steal together the closer they become but nothing can happen as there are 3000 miles between them and Ioan has a bad experience of a long-distance relationship. Will their decisions set them on a path of heartache or happiness?

I enjoyed this story of the attraction between them, the frustration with the distance apart, Ioan's inability to see past what happened to him before and the way that it was finally resolved. Review: Maddie's Daddy Crush by Kate Oliver 3 of 5 stars

Maddie's Daddy Crush (West Coast Daddies #3)

Maddie's Daddy Crush by Kate Oliver
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Maddie Michaels had a sheltered life after her mother died at a young age and so was used to living with her brother and his best friend Ian Jacobs. When tragedy struck she was devastated but went on autopilot to the only person left who she can rely on (who she is also madly in love with) - Ian. Ian has had a great life with a successful carer, more money than he needs, his best friend and his sister Maddie (who he wants but thinks he cannot have her). Now she lives with him and it is pure torture as his Daddy wants her just as much as he does - but she is still off limits. Will they be able to put aside their worries and realise how perfect they are for each other, or will Ian push her away into the arms of another man so that he doesn’t betray his best friend?

I loved this story with the brother's best friend torturing himself for wanting Maddie and convincing himself that he couldn't have her - the longing in Ian's house between the two of them must have been painful. I was thrilled when the corner was turned and they realised that life could be perfect if only they pushed aside any imaginary barriers. Easy to read, feel and understand. Review: Security Binds Her by Jennifer Bene 3 of 5 stars

Security Binds Her (Thalia, #1)

Security Binds Her by Jennifer Bene
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I'm actually going to start with the warning - read this carefully as there are several triggers.
** This contains lots of sexual content, kidnapping, graphic punishments, dubious consent, and very strong language

Thalia is kidnapped from work by someone she should have been able to trust as he worked as the security guard. She quickly learns that it was all a ruse to get to her and take her. Her old life is erased and he is determined to show her the darker side of herself while she is trying to hold on to herself. She is trapped alone with him and although it is brutal as she is schooled in certain requirements it is the moments of kindness that he shows her which are more likely to break her.

Wow - this was certainly a brutal story which had a hopeful finish but that will need to be seen in the next book in the series. Thalia was certainly a strong and determined person and she suffered an enormous amount of degradation and brutality while being turned into a sex slave. This was all clearly written and easy to read (even if the subject matter was difficult to read at times). I definitely felt empathy for Thalia. Contains mature content as per the warming at the top.

Haylee's Hero Daddy (West Coast Daddies #2)

Haylee needs to get away from her abusive boyfriend and has a plan to pack while he is at work and leave before he gets home but it all went wrong. She cannot accept help from the frightening and bossy man her friends sent to help her but maybe Kane is her knight in shining armour. Kane really wanted to be her protector and guard her with his life, but would she embrace the Little side of herself and also let him be her Daddy?

I enjoyed the story with the fierce need to protect her as well as the need to be her Daddy. I thought Kane was really good at protecting her although I did find her discovery of her little age a bit bizarre as she played with toys and sucked a pacifier but was old enough to do a number of things herself like using a toilet. I loved the ending where the bed guy was found. Easy to read and understand Contains mature content with a BDSM DDLG relationship.

Can he do what it takes to keep her safe whether she likes it or not and can he help her to believe in the magic of Christmas again?

I enjoyed this story with the stubborn Little in Ally and the Daddy in Luke who was hesitant but was soon all in. Their story was very endearing and I loved the way that they were able to revive the Christmas spirit together. Deep Down by Elouise East
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Website designer Craig spends his days working from home chained to a desk but at the times he looks after the home while his partner works. Doctor Alex is a workaholic and often covers others' shifts at the hospital as that is where he is most comfortable. Alex rarely goes out until his best friend drags him out. But Craig's life is not perfect and when Alex has to patch him up he realises that something is not right with Craig's relationship - he might be just a patient but he cannot let him go back into a dangerous situation. But when he reaches out Alex's boyfriend sees him as a threat and Craig's balanced life falls apart under the fists of the man who promised to love him. Alex can heal the Body but Craig has to learn to heal his own heart and give love another chance.

I really enjoyed this book which explored how control and abuse in a domestic setting can creep up in a relationship so slowly that you think it is normal behaviour and just cannot see it. Beau (Daddies of the Shadows #3)

Beau by Kate Oliver
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When the law is not enough to protect the vulnerable someone has to step in and it isn't always legal. This is the brotherhood that is known as the Shadows. Seven years ago Beau had saved Emma from an attack where he had killed her assailant. She had never forgotten him and was ready to thank him in person but what she wasn't expecting was how her body reacted to his dominant personality which made her feel so safe. When Emma walked into Beau's gym he recognised her at once and not a day had gone by when he hadn't wondered if she was alright. She is now an adult and everything made his protective Daddy instincts come to life and he knew that the little girl he had been looking for had found him. Can he convince her that he was the Daddy she so badly needs?

I really enjoyed this book with the time lag between their first meeting and this new one and how they both continued to think about each other. I also love the family dynamic in this series where the brothers stick together and will protect the women no matter what happens. It is wonderful to see such strong and at times violent men are so gentle and caring which I think balances them overall. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content of a BDSM DDLG style.

Ash by Kate Oliver
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When the law is not enough to protect the vulnerable someone has to step in and it isn't always legal. This is the brotherhood that is known as the Shadows. Ash had saved Kylie in High school from a bully who had cornered her at a party where he had called her Little Girl and threatened to spank her if she wasn't more careful. She was a dorky girl with glasses and braces and he was her secret crush and she still fantasized about being over his knee. Ash was a "bad boy" and the label still fit but now he only did bad things to those who need his protection. He had been called Daddy many times over the years but no one affected him like the girl who was in front of him drunk in a club who had just told him that she had fantasized about him since high school.

I loved this story with Ash feeling he wasn't worthy of her and her still focused on him after all of these years. It was great to see they find happiness together and that Ash could protect her from putting herself in harm's way. Easy to read and understand. Review: Primary Seduction by Elouise East 3 of 5 stars

Primary Seduction (Crush, #3)

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Trent's marriage was a disaster but his two children mean the world to him but he is determined to not make a mistake again. Something flickers inside him when Max kisses him but Trent pulls away confused. Max felt a pull towards Trent from the moment they met but he shoved it aside until his body went on autopilot and he kissed him - a mistake as Trent is straight - so he throws himself into work wondering if he has blow his chance of a friendship with a man that just will not leave his thoughts. When Max calls Trent for help Trent surprises him and they grow closer despite their lifestyle differences where Max loves to dominate. As their relationship continues Max slowly introduces Trent to the clubs he frequents but soon trouble calls and throws their lives into disarray.

I loved this story with the straight Trent and the gay Max, and how they discovered love and that Trent was not as straight as was previously thought. Their love was built on friendship and affection and it was delightful to see the way that their love blossomed. Trent did a great job with his kids and it was also a joy to see how they supported them both. Easy to read and understand. Lots of emotions. Contains mature content of an MM nature some of which was BDSM in nature.

Review: Knox by Kate Oliver 4 of 5 stars

Knox (Daddies of the Shadows #1)

Knox by Kate Oliver
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When the law is not enough to protect the vulnerable someone has to step in and it isn't always legal. This is the brotherhood that is known as the Shadows. When Addison went into Knox's gun shop to buy a gun he knew she was in trouble but what he didn't expect what for his Daddy's senses to go high gear and that she was a Little. For Addison life was going great until she got a call that her past was coming back to haunt her and although she is not happy about it, she may have to accept help from Knox as he says he will protect her and she needs all the help she can get.

I really liked this story which was a great introduction to the Shadows and it had a very protective Daddy ging everything he could do to protect his Little. There was plenty of drama, danger and some violence in this book, but there were also a lot of tender moments that outweighed the bad. Easy to read and understand, this book contained mature content of a BDSM nature with a DDLG relationship.

Review: Daddy's Sassy Sweetheart by Laylah Roberts 3 of 5 stars

Daddy's Sassy Sweetheart (Montana Daddies, #13)

Daddy's Sassy Sweetheart by Laylah Roberts
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When life knocked her down Kiesha got back up and she knew she couldn't react to it as she was tempted as her pseudo-brother was her boss and the sheriff. But really, rules were meant to be broken most of the time. Harry had followed rules all of his life and although he was successful and wealthy he was also lonely and empty. But he did feel alive when visiting Wishingbone in Montana and the woman who had caught his eye even though he knew he should keep away from Kiesha as they were complete opposites. However, she was in desperate need of a Daddy and maybe he was the man for the job.

I enjoyed this book with the sassy and out-of-control Keisha and the strong and determined Harry who was determined to bring some structure to her life while still letting her express herself and be a little wild. It resulted in both of them becoming something better than they were before. This was easy to read and understand. Contains mature content of a BDSM DDLG nature.

Review: Stormin' Norman by Sue Brown 3 of 5 stars

Stormin' Norman (Lyon Road Vets #4)

Stormin' Norman by Sue Brown
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Dan and Jesse were together for many years even though Jesse kept disappearing to do difficult assignments, but after breaking his promise to leave his job and not leave him alone again on Jesse's latest return Dan had moved on and was in someone else's arms. Jesse decides to get himself a dog and his friends and neighbours help him get a puppy although the choice was actually made by Norman. Jessie tries to take on a new job with Norman's assistance and while Dan lives nearby he still loves Jesse but has moved on with his life - Can Jesse do the same?

In some ways, I loved this story - especially the ending, but in others, I did not as it was too drawn out, there was too much interfering, and it was a bit too complicated. It was easy to read, easy to understand, and contained some very mature content. In others, it was very heartbreaking or romantic.

Review: Dark Secret by Sue Brown 4 of 5 stars

Dark Secret (Darker Daddy Bodyguards #2)

Dark Secret by Sue Brown
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Paolo killed his father who was the head of their Mafia family but has now been kidnapped and is being held hostage somewhere. No one seems to know where he is and the only thing keeping him going is the heartbeat he gets coming through strong in the darkness. Whatever happens, he expects to die alone and in a cave. Tiger is tired of doing protection detail for lots of Z-list celebrities or teenage kids of politicians plus he is exhausted with the heartbeat that stops him from sleeping. Then Nico Acierno, the Prince of Darkness, offers him an assignment- he needs to find his twin brother Paolo before it is too late.

I really enjoyed this story with the slightly psychic phenomena of heartbeats. I loved the way that things were not as they appeared at the end of the previous book in the series. Tiger was a real Daddy who was totally focused on caring for the person who was in his care and it was so touching to see the way that he tried his best to live within this moral code but in the end, found a way to compromise for love. I was relieved when everything was sorted out and a way forward was found that enabled Tiger and Paolo to be together caring for each other. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content of a BDSM type with a DDLB relationship.

Review: Hazel Takes Over by Sue Brown 3 of 5 stars

Hazel Takes Over (Lyon Road Vets, #3)

Hazel Takes Over by Sue Brown
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Peter Mitchell has refused to replace his late dog Harry especially as he feels that he has his hands full with his partner vet Dr Evan Wells. Evan is sensitive to his viewpoint and so doesn't push it but not pushing it is not the same as not doing anything. When Peter is presented with a small red bundle of fur to hold he realises that the devious vet planned her arrival and that she already has a name. He thinks if he has no choice about the dog he will put his foot down about her name, but he really should have known better.

I found this book a bit boring with all of the detail about the ownership of a young puppy around their relationship and busy lives, but it did heat up as the story expanded to events around Peter's family and their next-door neighbour. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content.

Review: Dark Heart by Sue Brown 4 of 5 stars

Dark Heart (Darker Daddy Bodyguards #1)

Dark Heart by Sue Brown
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Daddy Leon is given the responsibility to guard Domenico (Prince of Darkness) who is the spoiled heir to the Acierno family. The chances are he will end this with a bullet to the back of his head either from another member of the family or one of their enemies. Nico's father controls the city with an iron fist however Nico might look like an angel but he is feisty, out of control and looking for a Daddy to put him over his lap. Nico may be the boy Leon longs to take to his heart, but the bodyguard can’t afford to get involved with the beautiful young man. However, the Prince of Darkness isn’t used to the word, no.

I really enjoyed this story with the mafia family dynamics, the petulant boy who just wants to push boundaries until he can find a Daddy to care for him, and Leon doing his best to protect Nico's life as well as those of his own family. It was great to see Leon doing the standard bodyguard things along with chasing after his errant charge and using the services of the Biker Daddy Bodyguards to help him. A surprise ending but it was lovely too. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content including BDSM behaviours of the DDLB variety.

Review: Bob the Destroyer of Leads by Sue Brown 3 of 5 stars

Bob the Destroyer of Leads (Lyon Road Vets, #2)

Bob the Destroyer of Leads by Sue Brown
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Beagle Bob has an attitude and eats through every lead that Will Duffy purchases for him. When Bob was walking to heel he becomes free and tears down the road with Will chasing him. Then one day as lead number 10 breaks Bob is hit by dog trainer Lawrence Taylor's car as he runs across the road leaving Bob unconscious with a broken leg. Will has to ask Lawrence to help him get Bob to the vet which means he has to listen to dog trainer Lawrence scolding him. Bob ends up in a cast and has to wear a cone of shame. Lawrence thinks all Bob and Will need are dog training classes, except Bob hasn't met a trainer yet he couldn't break. Is Lawrence man enough for the job?

Bob was the way that Will met bossy Lawrence but over time they did develop a friendship even though the training was never likely to work on Bob since the behaviour was so ingrained. I did find this book a little hard to read due to the argumentative nature of Lawrence and wondered how Will coped with him. Easy to read and understand. Contains some mature content.

Review: Hairy Harry's Car Seat by Sue Brown 4 of 5 stars

Hairy Harry's Car Seat (Lyon Road Vets, #1)

Hairy Harry's Car Seat by Sue Brown
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

At the end of Peter Mitchell's marriage, he had a suitcase and a dog Hairy Harry. When Harry became ill Peter is faced with the hardest decision to say goodbye to Harry. Evan Wells is the local vet who cares for Harry and Peter is surprised and how quickly they become firm friends to the extent that Peter looks forward to Evan's phone calls and the meals they share together. He knows Evan is gay but it doesn't bother him until Evan confesses that he is attracted to him. Peter has to admit he is not so averse to that possibility and that bothers him.

I loved this story with the angst of the loss of Harry, the companionship between two lonely people followed by the love that built between them. Pater's kids were lovely and it was nice to have such a look at the human relationships between just two people but also within a family. I have to say Evan was just lovely and I wish I could just hug him. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content.

Mating Urge

Mating Urge by Michelle Howard
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Elliana Cage stows on a spaceship leaving soon to escape her evil step-father and avoid the false criminal charges against her. Aran T'Kar didn't expect to discover a beautiful woman hiding out on the Zanian IX. Protocol dictates immediate detainment, but Aran can't resist the urge to take one forbidden taste.

This was a pleasant story although it was a bit high-level and would have been better with more details about the races, the politics, mating and the disc contents. Easy to read and understand.

Mating Urge by Michelle Howard - 3*

Torn by Tana Stone - 3*

The Drexian Warrior took the wrong woman from Earth to be a tribute bride. As he got to know her he realised that he actually wanted her even though he couldn't have her as she was allocated to another.

I enjoyed this story with was a high-level introduction to the Drexian Tribute Bride series. I did find the agreeable nature of Jax to be a little strange and most unlikely (and certainly not as quick as he was). Contains some mature content.

Bond by Tasha Black - 4*

Posey Quinn believes that there is more to the world than what she can see so when she goes to            Stargazer to donate eggs, she is not completely surprised to learn she has been asked to make an alien fall in love with her and become an ambassador for humankind. What she never expected was how much of a hunk Bond is and how irresistible he is. Bond is on Earth to give a human female as much pleasure as she can handle while learning as much about the planet and its inhabitants as he can. He knows that if the patient has enough resources and the residents are not worthy, that he time with Posey is limited.

This was an enjoyable story that has the slow build-up to a relationship between Bond and Posey which was quite nice to experience with them (even if there was the dark background mission so that they could test the human inhabitants to see basically if they were worthy of living any longer. A sweet story that will be interesting to find out what happens next.

Review: Claimed by Daddy by Vanessa Brooks 1 of 5 stars

Claimed by Daddy

Claimed by Daddy by Vanessa Brooks
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

Penny West experiences turbulence during a flight and when she lands she finds herself in a new reality where she has a husband who expects her to call him Daddy. When his wife claims not to know him David Forrester assumes she is being a brat, but after a swat to her backside, she still has no idea who he is. One thing that hasn't changed for her is that she still needs her bare bottom spanked by a firm but loving daddy, especially when she's naughty. Stuck in this reality Penny decides that her handsome husband who knows how to make her scream his name in bed is not a bad thing to have. But will she resist being claimed by daddy?

I really didn't like this story - whilst I realise that it was a shock to find herself in another reality, it did at times descend into farce and that just became silly. In the end, the book just lost my attention and I started to skip pages. Contains mature content. Contains aspects of BDSM including age play (DDLG) and spanking.

Review: Breaking His Code by Patricia D. Eddy 3 of 5 stars

Breaking His Code (Away From Keyboard, #1)

Breaking His Code by Patricia D. Eddy
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Former SEAL West is alone and running a Krav Maga studio during the day and is teetering on the edge of financial collapse. During the night he battles the demons of the fallen who haunt his dreams. His reprieve is online gaming with Cam at night. Cam was an explosives expert in Afghanistan until one wrong move scarred her for life and so she hides behind her keyboard and cane until the guy she has flirted with persuades her to give him a chance in real life. Then Cam bolts so that she doesn't have to admit she is broken - can West convince her that broken is beautiful?

I enjoyed this story which was good at highlighting the internal and external struggles of returning servicemen and servicewomen plus a little about the stress on their families. I enjoyed the way that their relationship started and it was wonderful to see that beauty is within and so the external is partially irrelevant. Easy to read and understand. Contains some mature content.

Gripp (Caged and Dangerous, #6)

Gripp by Milly Taiden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Panther shifter Gripp did what was right and due to crooked politicians ended up in the Supermax jail. He is then given a mission to earn his freedom - to go and rescue a female journalist who just happens to be his mate. You might think that they have nothing in common, but they have more than you could imagine and as you say, opposites attract.

I loved this story. It was great to see him meet a strong and determined sassy woman who was not prepared to give in. It was great to see them butt heads and how she was actually kicking ass and doing everything she could to hold her own. I enjoyed their journey to freedom and how they were able to work together to get past the obstacles. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content.

Review: Shadow by Ivy Nelson 5 of 5 stars

Shadow (Club Exposure, #4)

Shadow by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cannon Ripley was always in the shadows as a spy with hurried trips home Olivia was the one shedding light on him as they connected in bed with primal energy and passion. But she could not take the pressure of never knowing when he was home or for how long and so told him to stop calling her unless he was home for good. When he is unexpected forced out of his career he finds himself back home without her as she moved on as is not interested in giving him another chance. When someone tries to harm her he refuses to take no for an answer and is determined to protect her while reminding her how good they are together. But will she believe he is back for good?

I loved this story and it was great to be back in Club Exposure with all of the gang while Ripley and Olivia worked through their differences, their belief in each other as well as igniting their relationship again. I loved her feistiness and the way that she was submissive but only when she wanted to be. Certainly, their relationship was fiery, dirty and sometimes verged on violent. I found it hard to cope with some of the things they said to each other. Contains a lot of mature content in graphic detail much of it around BDSM and some danger and drama around the plot to attack Olivia. Easy to read and understand.

Review: Trained Royal by Elouise East 5 of 5 stars

Trained Royal (Club Royal, #5)

Trained Royal by Elouise East
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Prince Patrick is trying to balance what he wants with what he can have but the only time he can be himself is when he is behind closed doors with his family or at home alone. With the extended family gunning for those of a different sexual orientation, he asks his bodyguard to train him for the inevitable assassination attempt. Kieren has been Patrick's bodyguard for years and has huge admiration for everything he has to put up with and is now training him to protect himself and his family. It breaks his heart to have to do that for him but he will do everything to keep Patrick safe even if it is giving up his own life. When a particularly heavy training session brings forth Patrick’s emotions, Kieren struggles to contain his own until Patrick kisses him - then all bets are off.

I loved this story with the tortured Patrick and Kieren who wanted each other but knew that they could do nothing about it until they reached the point of no return. I just loved their passion and the way that they each had their own artistic outlet but that their real outlet was their devotion to each other and the way that they would do anything to protect each other. I loved that they made great progress with the plot against the central family due to their sexual preferences and it was a delight to see that Kieren really came into his own with his insights and hunches. Contains mature content in this MM book.

Then he realises that Royale is actually the one he can nurture and will feed him blood for the rest of his life. Can he persuade Royale that he was not the one to kill his friend and can he protect Royale?

I enjoyed this start to the series and the way that everything went down between Fear and Royale as well as Fear and the other vampires. She has a special gift only known to very few people. She is to pair up with Finley O'Donnel, a Dragon Guard shifter. As the two meet it becomes apparent to them both that they are mates but Orla has no time for that now. They have a serial killer to catch.
