Ancient vampire Fear intended to give in and rest for Eternity and then he meets human boy Royale Winter when he finds Royale's best friend dead on the street from the actions of another vampire. Then he realises that Royale is actually the one he can nurture and will feed him blood for the rest of his life. Can he persuade Royale that he was not the one to kill his friend and can he protect Royale?
I enjoyed this start to the series and the way that everything went down between Fear and Royale as well as Fear and the other vampires. The way that the DDLB dynamic developed between the two f them was sweet and I liked the way that Fear told him that it was up to them to find out exactly how exactly Royale was Little. Easy to read and understand. Contains some mature content.
