Maddie Michaels had a sheltered life after her mother died at a young age and so was used to living with her brother and his best friend Ian Jacobs. When tragedy struck she was devastated but went on autopilot to the only person left who she can rely on (who she is also madly in love with) - Ian. Ian has had a great life with a successful carer, more money than he needs, his best friend and his sister Maddie (who he wants but thinks he cannot have her). Now she lives with him and it is pure torture as his Daddy wants her just as much as he does - but she is still off limits. Will they be able to put aside their worries and realise how perfect they are for each other, or will Ian push her away into the arms of another man so that he doesn’t betray his best friend?
I loved this story with the brother's best friend torturing himself for wanting Maddie and convincing himself that he couldn't have her - the longing in Ian's house between the two of them must have been painful. I was thrilled when the corner was turned and they realised that life could be perfect if only they pushed aside any imaginary barriers. Easy to read, feel and understand. Contains mature content with a BDSM DDLG relationship.
