Review: Breathing Fire by Elouise East 5 of 5 stars

Breathing Fire (Love in Flames, #3)

Breathing Fire by Elouise East
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fireman Matias wants to live the dream of a career, husband, house and kids. Hid is even flexible on the order that happens, but it doesn't help that nothing around his relationships feels right and so he cuts his losses wanting to find the forever person and not the just now person. Now he is running out of options and his family is determined to set him up with someone at his sister's wedding but then a friend of a friend steps in for him. Wedding planner Eli sees Matias's family pushing him and so he steps forward and offers a fake relationship on the condition that it is temporary as he can't do it forever. How can Matias prove to Eli that their dreams are not so different?

On the face of it, it feels like a standard fake relationship as per the standard path of the trope, but their families make it so much more as they both end up being involved in the other's family plus they both lead busy working lives and it becomes clear that Matias is in love with Eli, but then when you read the signs so is Eli if he could only accept what his behaviour is showing. I admit there were a couple of times when I cried because I could really feel their emotions. I loved the scene when Eli was given the wake-up call about his feelings for Matias from his business partner and he suddenly realised what he had done. I also loved the scene when he surprised Matias with his birthday present. Easy to read, feel and understand this story. Contains mature content of an MM relationship. I loved the ending.
