My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Cris works as a stripper with a stage name of Lionman and after his shift, he likes to go into Cowboys and Angels for a drink but one night a very drunk young guy called Mikey tries to kiss him - he is very much not his type but being a nice guy he sees him home safely. There he meets Mikey's handsome older brother Bennett and an immediate spark between them but Bennett is not in a position to start a relationship as he is far too busy trying to hold his family together. His family troubles are around his brother going off the rails and the family acceptance of a gay son (or is it working up to two?). When Cris is unexpectedly fired and the family drama escalates for Bennett can the support they provide for each other turn into something more?
This was a book full of drama, emotions and relationships both between people and within a family. I liked the way that Cris's involvement with Bennett's family started from one of the actions of Mikey's struggles with his identity. Some of the emotions could be quite raw but it was great to experience how they worked through them and how they overcame them. I loved that Cris has hidden skills and that it taught us all a lesson in not judging people just for their main job but to look at the other skills that they had. Easy to read and understand, the emotions of the characters were very real and very easy to feel. Contains mature MM content.
