My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Magnus arrived in the Arctic for severe-weather training overseen by an international joint task force run by the military brass but something is not right there. Dr Sydney Jenkins is the only doctor there and is part of the British team but when she arrives she finds that all hell is breaking loose. Her medical clinic is being targeted, men are missing, and accidents which shouldn’t happen. Magnus feels a need to protect Sydney even though he should be concentrating on the problems there is a need for him to listen to his heart and protect Sydney but she is not sure who to trust and now is a time for neither of them to make a mistake.
I really enjoyed the start of this new series by the author. The location of the Arctic with its harsh weather was a great setting for this mystery as Magnus and Mountain tried to work out what was going on before someone else went missing or was killed. I loved the way that Sydney worked and that she was a lot more careful than appeared on the surface. I liked the way that everything was clearly described and I could feel as if I was there experiencing it with them. Easy to read, feel and understand. Contains just a little mature content at the end.
