For the last 14 years, Riordan Darcy has become a notorious assassin travelling the world and eliminating the worst of humanity. Unhappy after a job goes horribly wrong he decides to get out of the life he was living. His meddling older sister gives him an unusual birthday gift which he can't refuse his plans have to go on hold as he works to protect a stranger's life. Teddy Harris is a professional hugger and TLC provider by day and a video game reviewer in the evening. When he gets a one-month contract as a gift for Riordan he has to try and balance professional challenge and personal temptation. After a mole is found in Riordan's organisation can they find the answers quickly enough and can Riordan and Teddy survive long enough to fall in love, or will they die trying?
I really enjoyed this story where Teddy and Riordan were opposites and that over time Teddy was able to break down the barriers around Riordan and his heart so that they could trade hugs and form a bond of mutual respect so that they had a chance of a future. I loved that this was exactly the right time for Riordan to take a step back from his former life and that Teddy was perfect for him to have a chance at a better and very different life. Easy to read, feel and understand. This MM story contains mature content and some violence.
