Rory lost his best friend Callan seventeen years ago when he suddenly moved and cut off his previous life. Understanding considering that he had been a victim of sexual abuse although Rory always blamed himself for breaking his confidence and trying to protect him. Callan has worked his way out of a dark place and recovered from the alcoholism that he hid behind but then he received a surprise phone call from London and so calls his best friend to reconnect and hopefully stay with him for a while which will give them a chance to reconnect. Rory and the kinky housemates welcome Callan, open his eyes to a world he never knew existed and then when his life is more complicated Rory is there helping him. Maybe there is a chance for something more than friendship?
I loved this story which was darker than the others in the series but was well worth the time to read. Everything was sensitively and clearly explained with suitable attention to some of the emotions experienced by the events of the past. I loved that Rory and Callan were able to reconnect and after a catch-up on the events from seventeen years ago as well as the years in between they were able to reconnect and be just as strong as friends (if not stronger). This MM story contains mature content and some BDSM-like behaviours including sensory play.
