Daddy Nicolas lost his cool two years ago and lost his publishing contract as well as his boyfriend of four years. Now he sits in the local bar staring at a black document waiting for inspiration. Calvin is new to Palmdale, Floris and is doing his best to leave his messy past behind thanks to the Daddy that he had. Now he is determined to be his own person and has some independence. Nicolas watches Calvin and thinks he might be his new muse - but does he need a Daddy? Calvin is starting to fall for the mysterious writer Nicolas who makes him feel special- the question is whether they can be together without history repeating itself?
I enjoyed this story which was fairly lightweight and I felt could have been enhanced with a bit more about their thoughts and feelings. I did also think that the standoff in Nicolas's flat was far too easy and quick considering the wealth and power difference between the two men. I loved the interactions involving Nicolas's brother and his dog was a great key element in the story. Easy to read and understand. This is a mature MM story with a BDSM-like DDLB relationship.
