My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Detective Kate Morgan is troubled by her latest case as a terrorised woman comes in and gives a message to Kate that drags Simon into the middle of a case. With the challenge issued Kate wants to solve it keeping Simon on the sidelines but even though Simon doesn't understand the message or the hate being sent his way if this is not stopped soon Simon's past is likely to be trawled through and he will never get any peace again. But the answer, when it comes, is closer to home than anyone realises.
I enjoyed this story which was complicated and directed at Simon in some sort of game that no one else knew or understood. Kate and her partner Rodney tried to do all the usual policing investigations as Simon did his best to think and connect anything that came to light or was in his mind. I loved that he took such great care of Kate even though she was investigating murders that were connected to him even though it was clear that he personally didn't do them. Easy to read, feel and understand there was some mature content.
