Dylan's life changed for the worse in middle school and feeling fear and embarrassment at that time he ghosted his best friend Brett. His friends think he needs to find himself an Understanding Daddy but he is far more concerned with earning a place back in Brett's life. Brett has been waiting a lifetime to find out why his childhood best friend walked away from him but as they spend time together it becomes clear to him that the past is not as important as what happens now. As Brett's feelings morph will Dylan believe that he would genuinely like to be his Daddy or will the past stop something that should have always been meant to be?
I enjoyed this story with the reconnection of the old best friends, the way they started from a shared history and shared love and respect for each other, and the fact that they both wanted to have a connection in the future. Brett was definitely a natural Daddy and when he understood the reasons for the disconnect in the past he immediately understood and forgave. Easy to read, feel and understand. This MM story contains mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB relationship. There is mention of past childhood abuse.
