ILY

ILY by Cora Rose by E.M. Lindsey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Leif abandons his career as an interpreter to take over his late aunt’s farm, only to find himself overwhelmed by allergies, unfamiliar equipment, and a relentless groundhog named Michael who seems determined to ruin his sanity. In the midst of battling pests and burnout, Leif encounters Thorne—a mysterious, gorgeous man who first appears as a stalker offering explosives. Despite the red flags, their connection is undeniable, deepening through shared ASL and increasingly intimate encounters. But Thorne carries secrets, and as Leif struggles to keep his farm (and his sanity) intact, he must face the unsettling truth: Thorne could be the greatest love of his life…or the most dangerous mistake he’ll ever make.

I loved this story which was layered with humour, danger, and emotional vulnerability, blending quirky rural chaos with the intensity of forbidden attraction. I liked how Leif’s battle with Michael the groundhog mirrored his struggle to tame his own circumstances, underscoring how nature (and life itself) resists neat solutions. This was a crazy story which had me laughing out loud sometimes and becoming frustrated with them at others. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
