Review: A Little Christmas! Johnny by Kate Bauer 3 of 5 stars

A Little Christmas! Johnny

A Little Christmas! Johnny by Kate Bauer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Dexter, weary of being “Uncle Dex” and worn down by people, finds himself once again rescuing his neighbor when they slip into their Little self. But the unexpected twist comes when the tow truck driver who arrives to help — Johnny — reveals himself as an undiscovered Little. Johnny longs for acceptance, someone who won’t judge his love of Legos, cartoons, and his ever-growing blanket collection. Meeting Dexter feels like fate, or perhaps a Christmas miracle, as the two discover connection and care in each other. This holiday season, Dexter’s guarded solitude collides with Johnny’s playful openness, promising that Johnny’s Christmas will be merry — and that Dexter may finally find joy in companionship he never expected.

I loved this story which was about finding acceptance, joy, and love in the most unexpected places — proving that even weary hearts can be surprised by holiday miracles. I loved that at its heart this story was about two men discovering that love is both playful and profound, and that acceptance can turn loneliness into belonging — especially when holiday magic nudges them together. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
