My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A great value collection of the first three books in the series.
#1 For The Fight 4*
Cop Luella Brayshaw just feels all of the hurt 12 years after SWAT team operator Nate Rivers walked away from her. But by the time she sees him on the train, everything starts to go very wrong. Nate knows he made the right decision all those years ago, but it is far to remember why when she is in front of him looking all strong, gorgeous and justifiably furious with him. When a gunman takes their carriage hostage the past doesn't matter as even though they are not armed they both have to work together to save everyone on the train. When the past and the present collide, passion ignites, but can the mistakes of the past be forgiven so they can have a future together?
I really enjoyed this story with the drama of the hostage situation, the history of their past, and how they handled both situations. Lou was strong and feisty and very focused on preserving life which given her history of a mistake was understandable. It was easy to read, feel and understand and I was totally on the side of Lou and Nate to save all those people as well as manage to sort out their relationship as they were obviously made for each other. #2 Out Run The Night 3*
High School teacher Bethwyn Banfield is recently divorced and decides out of character to go into town and has an instant attraction to a tall, dark and tattooed stranger. WASP Team Undercover cop Damon Nyhuis has been infiltrating a notorious Notechi Motorcycle Club for the last two years, but when he sees his former high school calculus teacher the last thing on his mind is his job. They are both kidnapped and dragged into the middle of nowhere and so Beth and Damon must escape the gang and then travel across a vast desert with the gang on their heels. Even so, their passion is off-the-charts hot as they run at night and rest during the day. Will there be a future for the teacher who wants her own family, and the cop who makes certain he’s always alone?
I enjoyed this story with the age gap, the conflict on having a family or no family, priorities and whether it was better to readjust because they were just right together. Lots of violence, danger and drama in this book. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content.
#3 Danger In Trust 4*
IT executive Emily Valente is very independent and has no time for her estranged politician mother and so it is very unimpressed when a threat to her mother means that she has two Elite SWAT bodyguards on one of the biggest nights of her career. One of those bodyguards is tall, sexy and a distraction. Elite SWAT bodyguard Griffin Walters is focused and exemplary and so it is just another standard job except he feels an attraction to the smart and stubborn woman he has been assigned to protect. Then something unthinkable happens and suddenly Griff is fighting not only to save Emily's life but also his own. With no idea who they can trust they need to work together to survive the night but as sparks fly are they willing to break their own rules to have a future together or will the last person they expect betray them before they ever get that chance?
I enjoyed this story with the two people thrown together and finding that they have an immediate attraction but are reluctant and were then unable to deny it, especially when it all goes wrong. I loved the way that Emily was strong and independent although I did find her stubbornness irritating at times. Griff was his usual strong type who started from the outset breaking his own rules and professionalism and so it was interesting to see him so tortured at the end when he finally went for broke. Easy to read, feel and understand, there were plenty of surprises and action in this story. Contains mature content.
